@@a4iantidote4insanitystreet52 hey guy, sorry if I sound rude, but maybe want to ask Dave there if he'd mind you sliding in his DM's with questions.. just saying, tuition and advice is the sort of thing people pay good money for..! no offence meant or anything
HAHA thanks Antonio. I figured no one I know would want a tattoo of a few lines soo..... the old leg came in handy again lol. Appreciate the support brother!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
HAHAHAHA 🤣 Thank you for that laugh Jill I think I needed that lol!! 🤘🤘 And thank you for the compliment I'm really happy people are learning and enjoying the content! 👍👍
i’m the kind of person who learns more by doing things then watching other people do things but you’ve been really helpful while i wait to get my machine
Right for me too were so helpful!!! becouse i know i was doing something wrong ( with colours my needle clogged every five minutes) and lines some where goog and some bad .. but without a guide you just dont know what to change .. I was just try and try but no improvment at all. In a video he fixed my problems with clogged needle with colours.
Your a beast for doing this, taking the time to clue these pencils together so we have a clear understanding of the needles. tattooing yourself for a tutorial is awesome asf! Thanks for all of this. I've learned a lot from watching your videos!
Dude, you're seriously an angel in disguise. I was researching like crazy to try and find a ton of the materials to start tattooing, and you literally have it all linked in the bio on TOP of all this amazing info. Thank you!!!
This was extremely informative. I dont know anything about tattooing from a hole in the wall but this make a ton of sense! I go in for an apprenticeship this week! Excited.
well... i have seen that you can explain so good on the other videos but in this video when your leg showed up i was like... ok this guy is a legend... i did a few years of art school and i started watching your videos randomly and you made me to buy all what i need to tattoo and give it a try. sorry for my bad english , but this channel is everything what i need to train myself and i want in one day just to be this good as you are so i can teach other people for free... i like this type of personality because i am the same, who encourage other people just to try... thank you for everything what you did...
Thank you Aliosha im glad you really enjoyed the video and i was happy to donate a portion of my leg to do so lol. And I hope you keep pushing to the point you can help other as well cause we are a community that should be supporting each other not tearing down. And Thank you again for the support its much appreciated keep your head up and Keep Rocking!!🤘🤘
Thanks for making all these videos. You’re really one of the only ones teaching about tattooing on here that actually go in depth. All other videos can be really vague.
Thank you very much Edwin for the kind words I really do appreciate that. I will continue to do my best to bring you guys as much information as possible in regards to tattooing and all that goes into it. Thank you Edwin for supporting the channel much appreciated!! 🤘🤘
Bro! Thanks a million times over for this. I've literally been searching for tutorials on what can be done with a round shader and could find anything! Mad props to u for using your own skin to show us how its done. 100% respect homie!!! Subscribed!

Thanks so much for responding! I'm right here taking all your info in! At any point, whenever u have the time, wud u be able to go over using a 1rl and or 3rl for small detailed tattoos? Thanks again for the amazing content. Xxx
I'm so glad I found your videos... been in the tattoo industry since I was 14 was taught a lot, I'm 33 now... unfortunately had my machine stolen 7 yrs ago and just recently replaced it so I'm a little rusty and your video r bringing everything back. I have developed carpal tunnel syndrome so I baught myself a dragonhawk atom tattoo pen (less vibration) I love it so much, so easy to switch between cartridges and colors... cuts the time down Thank you for your vids I appreciate it greatly
Wow congrats on getting a new machine and diving back into tattooing again!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 SOrry to hear about the carpal tunnel, but more power to you for finding a way to work around it by buying a machine that makes it easier on you. And I really like the pen machines plus with cartridges it just makes life a little easier. I'm happy to hear the videos have helped you get back into the swing of things. I appreciate your support and wish you nothing but the best as you dive back into tattooing!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks Losado appreciate that brother. 🙏 I put a lot of time into them so I appreciate the fact that other people find them educational and understandable. Thanks again Losade appreciate it man!! 🤘🤘
My man, I have been drawing, painting and sculpting for a long time and decided to start tattooing about a month ago, I found your channel literally two days ago and I absolutely love it, I know guys that tattoo and I get tattoos all the time and have sat in Thoth them to learn but honestly I’ve learned more from watching your videos and in just two days my attitude and noticeable skill set has increased phenomenally. I’m still drawing and practicing everyday staying in touch with shops and people around giving them my drawings and what not, and that was before I even saw your channel. Every question I’ve ran into so far you’ve covered it! You’re amazing!!!!
Wow Thomas that is really awesome to hear that the videos are really helping you out!!🤘🤘 Sounds like you are doing things right by getting yourself hooked up with a tattoo shop and connections like that. Just keep learning and trying new things, hell sometimes we amaze our selves! Be patient and enjoy the ride man!! 🤘 Thanks for watching Thomas I appreciate the support!!
I went to school for art have a state certification and I always wanted to tattoo I binge watched you. I tattooed the fake skin and was so comfortable with what I was doing. Truly awesome and informational!
Your videos have been crazy helpful! I've been painting for 25 years, just now dipping my toes in tattooing, everything I needed to know was explained in your videos. Thanks, man.
Oh that amazing Jessica!! Really happy to hear you decided to dive in and put those painting skills to work on the skin. And its awesome to hear you learned what you needed to know from these videos!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘Keep on ROCKING!!
I've been devouring videos in preparation of getting back into tattooing and your videos are hands down THE best I've seen. Clear and concise information with nothing left out and entertaining to watch to boot. Well done man, and thank you.
I just ordered EVERYTHING I need to get started and I’ve been watching your videos non stop! You’ve helped out a lot and you do some awesome work! Thank you! :)
Hey Dave, I've been studying tattooing for a long ass time, I understand completely every part of a tattoo needle (diameter, number of needles, shader/liner/mag) the only thing I don't understand is how you know when to use what tapers. I would really appreciate if you did a video on just tapers. Thank you for teaching me so much, I've loved learning from you, you make things so easy to understand!
Hey. Man, tapers determine the dot size. The long tapers slip into the skin and leave a smaller dot. The medium tapers punch through causing a larger dot. So long taper is good for smooth shading. Less trauma, more passes, smooth. Medium taper more trauma, but more effiencient for color packing. Tapers control how the needle enters the skin. Dot size
Just found your channel about a week and some change ago I believe, and this has been one of the most helpful channels I have come across so far! I really enjoy your content, it has been so helpful and easy to understand. Your videos have given me a lot of inspiration and confidence to pursue tattooing as a side hustle! I hope you keep making videos! I'd love to see some videos of your favorite ink to use as well :) Keep up the amazing work!
Awesome, thank you!! 👍👍 As long as people want to learn I'll keep doing my best to provide you guys with content to help you along your journey, where ever that may take you. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!! 🤘

Thank you Jeffery!! Appreciate that man 👊! Yeah it's the old practice legs lol... so much random stuff from the past It's kinda nice to add some more randomness to the leg lol! And I know how important it is to see things as close up as possible so using my leg made that the easiest way. Thanks again Jeffery appreciate you man! 🤘🤘
@@ArtSomething They say not all heroes wear capes and it is true you guys give up so much of YOUR lives for US civilians and at the very least we should be grateful...... Freedom isn't free thank you to all veterans and service men and women your country appreciates YOU!!!!! God Bless OUR Country
wait wait wait, how do you manage being AD military and being a tattoo artist?? the reason i’m just dipping my toes in the water into tattooing now is bc i thought it wasn’t plausible to get an apprenticeship and the works now bc i’m active duty. tips please!!!
Got my DragonHawk the other day and been working on the fake skin, trying to get my hand speed and power synced right. Would not have known any of this if not for you, I already feel more at ease thanks to your videos. I'll be able to go over all my old tattoos with confidence. Thanx your a great teacher.
That’s awesome Randall happy to hear you feel more at ease now!! 👍👍 congrats on the new machine as well!! And thank you Randall I appreciate the kind words my friend!! 🤘🤘

THank you so much Austin really really do appreciate the kind words my friend and I wish there was more of me to help more people who are looking for it. Its people like you that keep me motivated. Again thank you so much for the support!! 🤘🤘🤘
Ooh I like you a LOT! You are going to be very very popular. Everything you say is accurate, you make sense, you editing is perfect, timing etc. You seem to explain everything that most people miss out with no waffle and also there’s no stupid EGO that so many other have. I am going to watch every video more than once. Thank you for your loveliness. And thank you for sharing. From Sona in London 🖤
HAHA Thank you Sona I really appreciate that!! 👍👍 I work really hard on these videos, trying to make sure I dont waist peoples time yet still make sure I am educating people about the trade and what goes into it so I'm happy to hear that hard work is noticed 🙏. Thank you soooo much for the support and kind words! It's people like you that keep me going. Thank you again Sona!!🤘🤘
Art-Something it’s definitely noticed! Even the fact you try and reply to absolutely everyone. Bless you! I’m a tattoo artist in a London shop but still quite new so I’m learning lots. I also have 3 kids to juggle. So the fact you get straight to the point and edit so well is a godsend. 🙌🏽🖤
Thank you bro! You this broke down to a point that a small child could understand it! Also i have a black out tattoo aptmnt coming soon so this was knowledge to me! Shouts from Dade Mia Fl 🫡
Thank you so much for all your videos! I've been practicing for a couple of months now and this really feels like a step in the right direction for me. I don't know where I'd be without your help and guidance. Working to and wanting to eventually get an apprenticeship somewhere! Thanks again and all the best!
You are very welcome im happy to hear these videos are helping you out. And I wish you all the best as you work toward finding an apprenticeship. Keep you head up and Keep Rocking you got this! 🤘🤘
Love your videos, in fact, they’ve saved me hours maybe months of trial and errors and mistakes. I don’t have access to an apprenticeship because I live in a sticks community and with kids I can’t just up and travel. Keep rocking this shit it’s super helpful. Thank u 🙏
Crazy! Last night I was looking in your channel for a video just like this. Clutch timing. Thank you so much for all the information. I just ordered a machine pen and I am an absolute newbie. I binged watched your videos and they helped so much.
Awesome to hear Wylje! 👍 Congrats on the new equipment! And remember practice as much as you can and get comfortable with the machine on practice stuff like fake skin and what not. Be patient before touching skin. If your patient and determined then you got this!! And thanks for watching Wylje its very much appreciated!!🤘🤘
Great Video! I'm surprised you only have just under 6k subs. Love how detailed you are with your coverage and examples. I would love to see a step by step "In the field" video. From drawing, setup, application, tattoo, and clean up... Sounds like a lot, but I haven't really seen a well done video like that yet on youtube... maybe lack of searching but, would still love to see one. Thanks for the great vids. Keep up the good work!
Bro! I've been watching your videos and taking notes for 2 days. I really appreciate all the time, effort, and using your body as a tutorial canvas! P.S. your wife did an epic job on her first try! You have no idea how much I've learned so far.
Lol thanks man I’m just a slow learner sometimes so I figured I’d break it down so I could understand it. Thanks for the support Romeo and keep rockin brother🤘🤘
Hey! Gracias.

I have binge watched your videos man. You are a great teacher. I have never done a tattoo, but I have a lot and I enjoy watching the process. Looking forward to more. Also, Semper Fi. Sgt, USMC, 2nd Fast Co and 3/5, 2005 to 2011
Fist off Semper Fi brother and thank you for you service!! 👍👍 Thank you very much Bran I really appreciate that man and I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel!!! 🤘🤘 Keep Rocking brother and stay safe!!
I have a recommendation for shading without an RS, use the liner upside-down. What makes a liner so non-conforming is the auxiliary needle that acts as an edge that generally delivers the cutting foundation for the skin to conform to the other needle-press. This helped instill steady-handedness and attention to drag when it came down to lining with a needle that does not manufacturively conform to the angle of my left-handedness-of-choice. :) sorry if this opens pandora's box but I'm swinging on Dragonhawk's rotary-tail here lol
Great advice and videos, went out and bought my self a tatoo machine during "lockdown" best thing I ever did!! Thanks for all your videos bro.keep up the great work.
Another phenomenal vid Art. The way you break it down for others to understand is fantastic. Took your advice on the wireless power supplies and bought 2. Look forward to your upcoming videos.
Thank you so much Marcus!! 👍👍 I look forward to hearing how you like those wireless battery packs. I love mine and they are still going strong. Thanks again Marcus for watching and supporting the channel!! 🤘

Well thank you so much I appreciate the encouragement and I’m just glad to know you guys Learning from these videos and bettering yourself the best you can!!👍👍
I love the videos! They are very informative. Is there anyway you could do a more in-depth video on needles and when/how they’re used. I’m just beginning and I see some many different types.
Thats awesome brother and you are very welcome my friend!! Keep at it, stay focused, never stop learning, and most importantly dont quit when and if it gets hard!! Keep Rocking brother and thank you for the support!! 🤘🤘🤘
I love the pencil teaching tool! Did you come up with that? It's brilliant. I also love that you listed all the equip you use in the description. You're the bomb 🤘😁
Thank you Chad!! 👍 Yeah I wanted to come up with a very easy visual to use when explaining needles cause I know it can get and be confusing at times to understand what all these needles are for and how to read and understand them. I will also be adding a machine to the list of items here very soon as I have ordered another machine that I think is pretty nice and much more affordable for those wanting to get into this. Thank you brother for watching and supporting I really appreciate it!! 🤘🤘
@@ArtSomething No problem man keep doing what you're doing! Just know, it's making a difference out there and helping a lot of people! You'll always have my thumbs up.
One question I can't seem to find an answer to: what are long-taper liners for? Isn't a short taper always going to be better for clean one-pass linework - or doesn't the taper matter too much for outlining? Amazing channel btw - so many great videos!
@@ArtSomething just good for marketing and stuff init, keep all the networks - networked and keep the same content consistent across the platforms! But hey man, I'm not the one with thousands of subs so I'm not trying to teach you to suck eggs 🤜🤛
