Thank you too! And...this may sound strange..but...I have a request for you and hopefully everyone else who finds this video helpful: today we've had our first massive Google review negative campaign, having recorded 7 or 8 false reviews by an upset customer who was silly enough to leave them all in one day and immediately after the conflict. Their original review and our response to it are also there, preceding the flow of fake reviews. My simple request is to drop in a good word for Coppell TV Repair LLC on Google reviews if our videos or we have helped you in any way. Thanks for everyone who could help!

hi Coppelle must say you explain very well that even a person like me who have minimal knowledge can follow and understand. i opened up my tv. i found that the vs and va voltage was present but still no picture. i also noticed that the vs voltage was 279 instead of 206 and i found that i couldnt adjust it...what can i check next to fix the problem?

For every problem there is a level of complexity beyond which it makes more sense to involve professional or just abandon project rather than hitting your head in the wall. While I can't say with 100% certainty this is the case here I happen to believe that you are better of with one of the above two options versus trying to get help online. It is fairly uncommon for Vs to be above designed value and there are number of reasons for that; I won't go in details because it is beyond the scope of what this RU-vid channel is created for and because it has proven in practice to be mostly a waste of our time - no offense meant in any way.

I do not know if we have a video for the power board of pn51e450a1f, sorry. There are hundreds of different TV models out there and it would be unrealistic to expect anyone to have or even remember if they have something for every one of them. Natural course of action would be to check on a company's website or just on Google for who might have what one needs. I am also afraid I do not have the resources to offer remote troubleshooting in your situation. It will just require more than I am physically able - and honestly willing - to devote while still not guaranteeing any clear and positive outcome for either of the two involved parties. No offense meant in any way...this is just my reality. Nothing wrong with asking questions. I'd recommend trying badcaps.com - there are some great people out there and you can learn a lot just from reading past communications.

Bobby, the best PSB testing vid on RU-vid! My board shows Vs high as well and out of range for adjustment. Do you have any vids on testing the main board? My PSB tests good but seems not to be getting the signal to turn on. Thxs.
@coppelltvrepair
@coppelltvrepair 4 года назад
No vids on the main board, sorry...but you can search around for how to test the plasma logic board and sustain boards by disconnecting the plasma logic from the main and shorting a jumper there to generate auto raster..it's fairly common procedure for Samsung plasma TVs. Plus, if you have out-of-range Vs voltage I'd focus on that...the odds of having that problem AND something in small signal boards are fairly low.

Thanks so much for the response. Unfortunately, the logic board and main are one board on this model (PN60F5300AFXZA US01). I'm wondering if a high Vs comes down when the "load" of the display etc. is applied. I've only tested the power supply isolated, as you did in the vid.@@coppelltvrepair

Hi.I am Marcel, and i want to ask you a question.I have a Panasonic TX-P50X50E and on the main capacitor,i can measure only 324v Do you thinck i is enaught?Because the stand by voltage is driving by a FAN6755u,and do not want to start,so i do not have 5V stand by .Please help
@coppelltvrepair
@coppelltvrepair 6 лет назад
I must admit we do not do many Panasonic power boards, so I can't say first hand experience if 324V is normal, but I'd rather assume it is not. It should go higher. It also has very little to do with the standby voltage other than the standby is usually required in order for the PFC to work in the first place - the PFC driver usually gets power from the same transformer that produces the standby. But that's just the driver, not the source for the pumped up mains voltage. Which means that if standby had fluctuations because of which it would not work fine then the PFC most likely would not have started to begin with.

Thanck you for responding.I am agree with you , but i would like you take a look to the schematic diagra first, because i thinck this board was designed by a different way, Please let me send you the diagram, which i downloaded from internet (with the board reference :darfon b159-201), and ,i didn.t refer to a fluctuating stby voltage.The FAN6755u have a HV pin,where the voltage is about 214v, and that voltage a re fluctuating.The octocupler, which is conected to FB pin of FAN6755, on the foto transistor side, measure a fluctuating voltage at about 2,6-3V.I don.t know what to do..Thanck you anyway,I know that you can not waste your time ,so ,i will try not to bouther yo too much.

I have a 619A that destroys the thermistor upon connecting to mains. (Bare board, nothing else connected). So something is shorting out and taking out the thermistor (and mains surge protector)...
@coppelltvrepair
@coppelltvrepair 7 лет назад
Sorry to hear that. You are making a statement and a deduction and we'd agree with your deduction.
@coppelltvrepair
@coppelltvrepair 7 лет назад
There are, actually a number of them. PFC circuit power switching transistors are a common source of shortage, but proper fix is often more complex than just replacing them. Power switches for the transformers are also known to fail, usually due to corrosion of the solder joints of their legs as well. Now that I've given you a good direction based on first hand experience I too have a question for you: where do you think money come from so we can put something at the table in the evening - repairing boards or educating others on individual basis on Internet? No offense meant.

Very interesting educational video. You definitely explained a lot more technical details in this video than in the other one. I know you don't make any $ by making these videos and enlightening us, but the information you share is definitely very much appreciated. You are a very good mentor. I'm going to apply what I learned here in attempting to bench test my BN44-00515A board. One question I have is that you used a load resistor when you tested the BN44-00515A, but not when you tested this board. Is the load definitely required for the 515A, or is it ok and safe to power up the VA and VS without load on that model? If the load is required, then I'll most likely send it in to you for testing. Thanks again.

Hi. Very nice informative video. Are these power capacitors known to fail as they handle pretty high voltage of 400V. How much voltage are they rated for any idea?
@coppelltvrepair
@coppelltvrepair 2 года назад
No, the capacitors on this board are not known to fail a lot. This may change in future, but as of today I would not look at capacitors when considering problems on those boards.

@coppelltvrepair

Yes it is safe if it has been laying around for more than 2 hours. The worst that may happen is there may be a spark coming out if it if it gets touched in a certain way , but there's no risk to human handling it with hands other than possibly surprising them.

Ah, but if you have a pwr_on pin at 0 waiting for a 3.5v routed through the logic board then you connect these two via a 1k resistor?
@coppelltvrepair
@coppelltvrepair 5 лет назад
On most Samsung plasma TV power boards you have 3.5V on pwr_on waiting for 0 to activate the first stage of the board (PFC, low voltages). And no, there's no 1k resistor needed for that.

No load on the power supply board = higher voltage to panel. I'm surprised the weren't sparks with that test procedure, btw.
@coppelltvrepair
@coppelltvrepair 5 лет назад
@@14.1guy2 That is incorrect. Most power supply boards have built-in load providing minimal current allowing proper regulation of the board without external load. In other words the board is never without load. It is not working at designed / optimal current without external load, but the output voltage is holding with and without the sustain boards.

Hi I started checking this board by checking the fuse.( t12ah250v ) and it is blown. What would you recommend from here. The tv was turning off after about a minute. We repair those boards for money, so please don't expect us to teach you how to do it yourself - it would be in conflict with what feeds our children. With that in mind we recommend you replace the board, have it repaired or try repairing it yourself. Replacing the fuse alone is not going to help and using a repair kt from ebay may or may not help,.but is not enough to prevent another failure within the next year.

@coppelltvrepair
@coppelltvrepair 6 лет назад
Make sure the problem is in the board and not out of it by testing it on a bench, then either buy a working board or send yours to repair to someone who knows how to troubleshoot it or start reading and watching on how to fix electronics. I think that pretty much sums it up if you want it working.

Thanks. You was completely right. I asked realy before wached this video,only coz it close to my issue. Then went trough all video more closer and found exactly what i need. Found all voltages and reason why it was missing. So power board is ok, and that let do next step and locate next fault. After connecting all together and turn on power both Vs and Va going down to 0, in about 20 sec. Found that if disconnect Y main( both connetion to power board and to X main) then Vs and Va remain in proper range. Then found if disconnect Y buffer ,then Y main can be connected and voltages remain in rainge. So faulty Y main or Y buffer. When checking diode in connection to transistor at Vs voltage contact on Y buffer, looks like diode showing voltage drops 0.200mv both ways. Soldered diode out and checked,found diode ok, but connection points still showing voltage drops even without diode.So far i am stuck.Diode soldered back in.What could cause voltage reduction till 0, but no short and tv not getting in loop
