If a door does not lock or unlock on your Mazda car and you are trying to figure out if it is a bad door lock actuator or another problem this is the right video for you. In this video we will show you how test door lock actuator and know if it is bad and needs to be replaced. Most newer Mazda cars past 2005 will use similar design for their door lock actuator so this video should help you on the following cars:

As a mechanic this video is the simplest way to test an actuator. Great job explainig for people not familiar with this.

Hi, I had that same problem on my 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback which I replaced the lock on the left front side. I have another problem arise. The car would not lock. When do pressing the central lock button? Nor would it lock when I walk away? It would only completely lock all those when I double press the lock button on the key. What is your recommended fix for this? This is the new activator lock that is acting this way

Nice video! I'm troubleshooting my mazda actuator. The driver side lock nob doesn't lock or unlock. It seems the cable is jammed. But if using the key from outside, or with the remote, the actuator works perfect. It even push and pulls the knob well. I'm not sure if it's just a cable issue.

Hello My Mazda 3 bk front passenger door won't lock everytime I mean once in 5 tries it won't lock And I need to lock it manually

my door locks but the door ajar lights stays on

That would be one of the lock actuators. Inside the lock actuator is a circuit that monitors if the door is open/closed. Over time it gets dirty with carbon and can no longer detect and then the computer thinks there is an open door. This comment is for people who are still having this issue and are looking for an answer as to why there alarm keeps going off for no reason.
