barbjoz63 Thanks! I like to keep things simple. I figured out that the styrofoam cutter would generally melt the material in between the exacto knife cuts. That way I don't have to be precise when using the Styrofoam cutter. That made it very simple and the letters come out neat, but not perfect.
+Brian Griffith Great question. I like to use Rustoleum Matte Dark Gray Automotive Primer spray paint from HD, Lowe's or Walmart. It's a dark gray and not completely black, so there isn't a sharp contrast when applied to lighter colors. My stone color of choice is "Sherwin Williams 7052 Gray Area". I've used it on all my faux stone surfaces. HD or Lowes can mix this color from their database. It's ok to use the cheap latex base paint with this color because there's no expectation of bright, vibrant color. I think it costs only $12.98/gallon at HD. 'Hope that helps!
+Brian Griffith Great! And thanks for the compliment. I greatly appreciate that others follow my work and are interested. Let me know if you have any more questions. 'Glad to help.
+Imjetta Nolastnamegiven I also use a rolled piece med weight canvas to roll lightly in a angle for marble effect and I'll apply a clear semi-gloss coat. HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!!!! ;}
Wow! I still had this template! "Edwardian Script" for this one. This turned into a centerpiece prop and I used a more detailed font for it. For most others, I used "Californian FB" because it was easier to carve and had a good width. Hope that helps.
It probably depends on what part of the country. We're in Texas and builders here mostly use 3/4". It may be available in Northern states where it is colder.
we got 2 inch, 1 inch, and 1.5 inch here in idaho- i take 2 inch and double them to make my stones 4 inch so hopefully 4 inches isn't over doing it i see some people do 3 inches
