Like how your cut the back off the T-molding. I had to make 2 transitions recently from scratch and took over an hour each by the time I cut the correct angle, sand, prime and paint.

I have a recommendation for ya if you would. It would be cool to see some videos of hack jobs and you fixing them. Or just to show the hack job and describe what is wrong and how to fix it. Maybe with just pictures of the job well done . You don't have to be the one doing the job every time. Although using your own work as an example is a good thing also. Have a nice day sir

Always a toss up, bathroom tile, hallway laminate. There is going to be some kinda transition required. Needs to look appealing and not create a trip hazard. In the process of this type in my home right now. Thinking laminate snug to tiling and a small bead of caulking. The difference in height is 1/8 " versus 17mm with Dricore under Laminate then to tile. Or...scrap Dricore slight transition strip from tile to laminate scrap the caulking. Clear as mud? Thoughts???

Since these transition peace’s are expensive I needed a T mold but only had a reducer so I modified the reducer to work as a T mold. When your on a budget you do what you gotta do.

I’m about to make my own out of 2 1x4’s glued together honestly. Prev owners changed the kitchen floor so many times that it’s like an inch higher than the living room! I could round over both edges with the router, and carve out a channel to sit over the kitchen floor on my table saw.

The silicone can create a pinch point and prevent the laminate from expanding.

If I can avoid it I dont like such tall transitions. But obviously it cant always be avoided

Why use construction adhesive liquid nails, pl premium instead of nails or silcone

I use a multipurpose adhesive the has ultra bond stickiness. I never use any chalking type adhesive because I found over time they dry up and the transition peace’s always falls off.

Oh no better remove every piece of furniture while we're at it so the widdle babies don't stub their widdle piggies and go wee wee wee😢

And how would you fix that rip the entire hardwood up and make the floor level with the tile. Hell no I’d do something like this too it works and if you stub your toe learn to step over the transition peace not on it.

I'll just say it. This is what poor decisions and cheap tile work look like. The reality is whoever thought puting tile in at a different hieght than the original flooring was a terrible idea. This guy is trying to "fix" it, but it won't ever be "fixed". I have a feeling the tile or floor was never installed properly to begin with. Quality or "first time right" work never looks like this. Just calling it like it is.

The tie probably needed a new subfloor screwed down because to lay tie you need an absolutely flat floor that dose not move or else the ties will crack. So that lifts the floor up a bit so a transition peace like this needs to be customized
