When I transitioned my dog, I fed half kibble, and half pre-made raw. After a couple of weeks, I stopped the kibble. When I switched to Dr. Harvey’s base mixes, I didn’t do a transition.

I find so much conflicting information on rotating proteins - daily vs slow transitions over weeks or months and finding nuanced guidance is tough. I'm basically afraid every meal I serve even though I am constantly watching gut health information videos in PetSummit and RU-vid vet channels etc. It's helpful to see you're ok with Daily because I trust you. I also want to reserve 2-3 proteins that a re relatively accessible like rabbit in case of discovering intolerances. She's only 4 months and is itchy in a problematic way. We're raw fed [she transitioned fast] Viva Raw puppy formula, GussyGut most days, loves sardines/raw goat milk/bone broth. Most of that is thanks to you and Rachel Fusaro sharing content so thank you

I’m sorry that your puppy is dealing with itchiness already. There are many reasons that could be causing this but using a minimally processed diet will be helpful. There can be issues with vaccinosis, detox and gut health issues that could be keeping you stuck. Make sure to check out our free masterclass to help further guide you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8_tIrCwjHHA.htmlsi=8_LNRePW3vh2wkSh. If you’re still needing help and guidance, we may have some other programs that can help guide you too, so feel free to send us an email to info@thenaturalpetdoctor.com❤️

@@thenaturalpetdoctor I follow you and some of your colleagues so she's raw fed + gently cooked..[viva raw and chi dog as we rotate through focusing on minimal processing whole food human grade commercial foods]. She was weaned onto PPP sensitive skin and she quickly transitioned herself in 3 days to viva raw when I gave her the choice..stopped touching he kibble ..which was great bc my heart was heavy thinking I would have to go 10 days on that...but her gut did great so I followed her lead. AnimalBiome [I wanted a baseline bc her breed is prone is to IBD] came back as healthy. IPL Leaky Gut [becuase my heart dog was supposed to take that test but sadly..passed...tragically from a blockage and got sepsis after surgery...bc of grass...um]..so she's ok Zonulin was, normal range though I don't understand why a 4 month old is already over 5 or if thats normal. She is reacting to gliadin but I can't find any gluten in her diet based on my google search of every ingredient in every chew/treat/food. I don't use candles/plugins. Force of Nature is the cleaner and probiotics from Dr Judy's shop is how I clean the carpet. I don't know if Charlies Soap is the best detergent so making my own tomorrow with 2 ingredients. Molly suds / e-cover dish soaps. She gets bathed with project sudz ACV soap/conditioner. She was vaccinated too early at 7 weeks with a 6 in 1. I waited til 14 weeks for a 5 in 1 [all I could find in vets near me]. I don't know if I want "to complete the series" My best guesses are vaccine impact, stress [I'm a wreck...she's stepping really big shoes to help me through my grieving] and a food sensitivity. Right now I'm stuck on 1) which hair/saliva test to try or to try first; 2) Do I do a third shot [my current vet laughed at me when I asked about titers or blood draws so I could send in the titer. He said that didn't make any sense because I haven't completed it and told me they do them for $500 but "labs don't just take samples from anyone so we don't do blood draws"; 3) How in the world do I heal my heart...when my dog was my whole heart and what if this precious little soul is better off with someone else given how epically I failed my baby girl....I haven't been able to get all the way through your grief video yet ...it's been 4 months and I still mostly just....wish I had the option to be euthanized with her. I've watched your masterclass. It's amazing. All your content is. I was a little late to it. I think if I found you faster....maybe my should dog would be here still.I want to do blueprint. I just can't swing it yet. And I have this horrible guilt every time I watch and learn more things because...I can't go back and use it to help my heart dog. Sorry for the long note. You're amazing. like truly amazing and you've helped me a lot already...and yeah just thank you for being you.

@@masonsmom10923 we’ve all been there with our prior pets. I treated my cat for IBD with a conventional vet. Had I known about Dr. Katie back then I’m sure my little guy would have done much better. So when I first started learning about all the great things holistic veterinary could do I went through a big guilt phase. I didn’t know all of that back then. I did my best with what I knew. Now that you know more, you can do more. Our pets don’t hold grudges. They live in the moment. You did the best you could with what you knew. So go forward and do the best you can for your current pet. They will reap the benefits of your new knowledge. Best of luck to you and your fur buddy!

I would like to make my own cathood. Do you have any recipes for home made. I have chicken livers and hearts in my freezer. I gave some to one of my cats when he was sick. It was a total game changer. He changed overnight.

I'm getting so confused. I looked at one of your recommended freeze dried open farm to start changing. Now the other holistic vet are saying it's not any better than kibble. Trying to do the best I can

Are there benefits of switching to a raw food diet in an 18 year old cat with CKD?
@angelo8424
@angelo8424 6 месяцев назад
Am I correct in assuming that I should get blood work done on my pup first? He's 16, and I've been making his food in a blender, because he only has 4 teeth and laps up his food. I've been starting with a can of dog food, add a protein which I rotate, a 7 minute pasture raised egg, a scoop of organic sprouted oatmeal, spoon of plain pumpkin, etc.

Having up to date bloodwork for both dogs and cats is always a good idea to make sure they are ok for a diet change.👍
