i had a massive turbo on my 2h swapped it out for a stock rb25 turbo spoooled so much quicker really what the 2h needs smaller to medium turbs. quality build guys nice work.

Ben Brown Yeah 100% though, because the evo turbo exhaust inlet and outlet flanges are so weird, it's not an easy job to change turbo hahahaha though I do feel with better boost control we can get it more responsive

Great work guys! I'd use Nulon 'Fuel System Cleaner', its brilliant stuff and cleans your entire system including exhaust valves. Have used it myself in a back to back test and noticed an economy improvement.

I have used my 60 for work, Prospector for years. Only starter motor, ummmm, that"s it. Always in the dust, pulling good weight. Best Weapon Ever, i drive it like a tractor, not going to say it'll go forever.

Try Threebond Diesel engine cleaner for the pre chambers (it's like a modern diesel version of the fabled Subaru Upper engine cleaner) and get a look at Wurth Injector cleaner. Had less injector rattle on the TD42 after I put two tanks of that in.

IMO Injector cleaner is good as preventative maintenance, once your injectors start to play up they're too far gone for a standard clean to work. A full reco with ultrasonic bath, new o-rings, filter baskets, pintle caps and flow testing should be well under $200 (you'd probably pay $200+ trade price for 6 new injectors)

Injector cleaner definitely works, i use it in my vr and when i did the intake manifold had a look and they are like new only 1 had a tiny bit of build up and that was towards the back of the manifold

can vouch for liquamoly diesel purge, not added to tank you have to run the engine on it straight. just watch the closed fuel system you make(following instructions) change from clean/clear to mirky brown/black as the purge loosens all the crud and shifts it from the pumps internals, the delivery valves an the injectors. I also run a tiny bit of ash-less 2 stroke oil in my diesel, works wonders on my 12H-T (330,000kms) MUST be really good quality ash-less oil (TC-W3)

I'm the only one that get's 9-10L/100kms at freeway speeds in a 2.5tonne brick, no problem overtaking and can keep the 110km/h on just about any hill. (3" exhaust is the only mod)

Try a smaller turbo and a top mount so there's less charge piping to loose boost in
@boostedbuiltgarage
@boostedbuiltgarage 7 лет назад
Damon Farrelly Just needs a smaller turbo. Def not down grading to a top mount haha boost doesn't get lost, just takes bit longer to fill up. Nothing crazily noticeable when you've got the correct size turbo though

@boosted & Built can recommend a boost tee to increase boost and boost respons
@boostedbuiltgarage
@boostedbuiltgarage 6 лет назад
A tee will increase boost, yes, but not response. To increase response you need an electronic boost controller
@tombrown7839
@tombrown7839 6 лет назад
early on i had low boost issues in my 2h turbo hj75 threw a boost tee on it makes 12-15 psi no worrys. also added a plumback blowoff valve tappped back into airbox loves it also 100mm pod filter is an easy retrofit in factory airbox for more power :)

Apparently the ol 2H has a bit of a weak bottom end, oil pumps eat themselves and etc, especially after you whack boost in the ol girl... Interesting to see how long she lasts. if/when it goes, go a 12HT swap, or even a 6BT Cummins. But nah, 2JZ would be way cooler. Love the series bro! can't wait for the 2j!

Ralph Wiggin It'll still be reliable, its pushing out 90hp to the wheels from a 350kg cast iron block... hardly high strung.

@liamcooper5202
@liamcooper5202 5 лет назад
@@boingkster the block will take it sure. But block has nothing to do with the oil pump, bearing, rods etc. Or even the fact that it is an indirct injection head.
@boingkster
@boingkster 5 лет назад
@@liamcooper5202 none of that will really matter with a blown 90hp engine. It'll be making maybe 150hp or so... and still last forever.

Why did you choose front mount intercooler instead of top mount?
@boostedbuiltgarage
@boostedbuiltgarage 5 лет назад
Many reasons, some being: -Top mounts are inefficient and heatsoak -Top mount requires a scoop to be cut in hood -Takes up alot of space in the engine bay -Front mount is way more efficient and looks awesome -Top mounts

What was the rough cost and what sort of fuel economy you getting?
@boostedbuiltgarage
@boostedbuiltgarage 6 лет назад
Hard to say the cost, but you'd budget at least 5k for a half decent build. If you were to pay a shop to do all the custom fab I did, the bill would be pretty huge lol. Fuel economy isn't a good indicator because it's not tuned as best as it could be. But torque wise it's a huge difference

H2 should have 103hp from the factory, think there is something wrong with the engine. or is it because the hoses for the throttle are connected wrongly, the fuel pump is running with vacuum, when it gets pressure it closes for the fuel if it is not redesigned
@boostedbuiltgarage
@boostedbuiltgarage 7 лет назад
Is that 103hp at the wheels or at the crank though? Nothing is plumbed in wrong mate, diesels don't make vacuum...
@paddybugge79
@paddybugge79 7 лет назад
on the crank, onlike the most diesel engiens the h2 has a throttlebody on the intake just like the b3,and nissan sd33 non turbo ,the pump on this is Regulated with vacuum there is a hose on each side of the throttlebody and the pump provides more fuel depending on how much vacuum there is i the intake ,if ther is not change or the or the throttlebody is moved to the suction side of the turbo, it will not run optimally, on a l2 And several others, it's no problem as it does not have a throttlebody,Made the mistake myself when i put a turbo on my 81er patrol it could not drag itself if got bust because it was a vacuumregulated pump,Did not know what to do, so Later i installed inlet and pump from the turbo Engine, it was first later I found out that it was enough to make changes on the hoses to throttlebody

@boostedbuiltgarage

Juuso's Garage 7lb is where the gate is opening, so it will make more, just need a boost controller
@jute91
@jute91 7 лет назад
no need to buy fancy boost controller that's built for car use specific. just use a pressure regulator used in garage compressor for example ;)
@boingkster
@boingkster 7 лет назад
Air regulator? Nah. Just get a regular ball type unit off eBay for $20. Won't be the best thing in the world but will work well enough to let you up the boost.

2H smoking? Unlikely to be injectors if only done 50 or 60k - Delivery valve holders on injector pump wearing is common - Pump diaphragm & housing can deteriorate and eventually results in high idle rpm Thanks for posting vid guys, I have a HJ75 Troopy that am considering turbo/intercooling. Better learn how to tig!

Ralph Wiggin The guy that built the manifold runs 2h's with compound turbos running 25psi driving seriously hard and they last about a year on that boost level. I think upto bout 12-15psi they're pretty strong as long as they're tuned right.
@ralphwiggin4456
@ralphwiggin4456 7 лет назад
"Lasts about a year" that's awesome, lol. but yeah it's all in the tuning no doubt. any plans to go further with the 2H or happy with the 90 odd hp?
@boostedbuiltgarage

Ralph Wiggin Haha yeah it's funny Hey, just swaps motor every year😉 Not much more planned, just an ebc and wind up the boost a few psi and how fast it comes in (performance wise anyway)
