@@tacomabeast how does your truck beep for locking and no sound to unlock ? Any chance you can help me figure this out? Have a 2020 trd pro taco with a 6 spd manual trans.
Great DIY video!! No stupid music playing in the back ground or low voice. Very clear, right to the point and awesome video footage!! Thank you for this great video!
Dude you make me wanna get my 16' taco back! I just jumped on a 19' pro Tundra. Dont get me wrong Tundra is everything i ever wanted but theres so much to the taco! Love the videos! Keep it up bro! 🙏🏼
Another little gadget I want for the Taco. The price tag keeps increasing. My first project is almost complete. I will like to share it with all my favorite channels I follow. Thank you for the video. Future purchase soon.
Make sure you get one with the cover, oh boy do I regret not getting one with a cover. Even if you don’t want it you can still sell it for double the price 😭
So the AC switch need to on position when you turn off and park your car? Incase if you want to push start button with the remote and need the air con on before you get inside the truck?
Just installed my remote start works great amazingly helpful install video! Just One question : Is it supposed to cut off once the door is opened? Thanks!
Yeah that seems kind of pointless to start and stop. Plus side you can cool down/warm up the inside but damn. That's alot of start stop. IMO it's something I imagine will be used SOME of the time, and sort of as a gimmick. "Hey bro look what my Tacoma can do"
As mentioned before once the remote app starts your truck as soon as you open the door the truck shuts off. You have to restart it again. It’s a Toyota safety feature that can’t be bypassed.
Dam I got off tacoma world because of the mods it makes you think you need. Now I found this channel after hearing your name around. This mod is just so dam practical though.
That’s a great mod!... I just found out about your channel thanks to one of the videos from Maxx Powell. I’m new to overlanding and I already love it!... It’s all about the taco!
Dude 12 Volt Solutions sells these for $250 USD and on black fiday its like $175.00 USD. Not a good deal at all when you charge $400 for the same kit. The 12 Volt solutions kits uses stock fob or you can do the long distance one for $119USD.
So from everything I’m reading as soon as you open the door it shuts off? And I don’t see the link for the smart phone module and can’t find it on the website. More importantly, the door issue.... lol
Hello dear friend, I am one of your ardent fans. I have a request: Please provide a playlist of the equipment you have installed on Taco or the changes you have made to Taco systems and chassis. Thank you very much
If you get the app connected to it, you can start it from anywhere you have internet connection, if you’re using the key it’s about the same range as it would normally have to unlock your car
Previous owner installed aftermarket remote start on my 2018 sport 4x4. Factory fob does not start truck but the aftermarket fob does. How do I program the factory fob?
That would depend on the remote start system used but maybe out support team can give you a hand, feel free to reach out to them at support@tacomabeast.com 🤙
He failed to mention the truck shuts off soon as you open the door. And you have to restart it. Toyota security feature that cannot be bypassed. There’s nothing you can do about it.
No there is not. On the push button trucks you cannot bypass it. The truck will shut off every time a door is opened. It’s a Toyota security feature to keep your truck from getting stolen that cannot be bypassed. It’s the only thing keeping me from getting a kit.
Not a bad price at all. I went to a couple shops to try and get DroneMobile installed and it was any where from 700-900. Where is the smart phone piece? I don't see it in the description.
Not once was it shown starting AND THEN opening the door to the vehicle. Just started and then cut away, this seems really misleading and more of just a “go buy from my website” video.
You can't. It's a safety feature so no one runs up and steals your truck. It's a feature that comes with all those remote starts now. You can't get around it
It’s a lame ass safety feature that makes absolutely zero sense. My push button tacoma shuts off as well when the door opens. The truck can obviously sense the key fob is present to unlock the door it should do the same to allow you to get in and drive away without turning the engine off.
The video is great, I have a H key and not the key in the video. To program it you push the start button twice, I don't a push button for mine.Is there something I need to do there at that step?
There are non push to start options on out website too, this is the one for a regular key: tacomabeast.com/products/regular-key-n2-designs-16-19-tacoma-plug-play-remote-start-kit?_pos=2&_sid=d6a8f73c8&_ss=r
Any problem with distance on yours? I've had mine installed for over a year and could never get it to work more than 15 ft away. Truck has a similar setup to yours with steel front bumper and roof rack. I just ordered the cellular module, because remote start is almost pointless if it's so short of a distance that works.
@@tacomabeast I got the carlink module connected to my 2020 with the StartX. Programming was slightly different (Let go on the blue and red LEDs) and the harness has now changed with a dedicated ground and power. What a game changer the cellular module is though!!
Just ordered it a few days ago, I do have a question. Do I have to do any other programming, like do I hook it up to my computer? Or do I literally plug and play?
sounded awesome but since it turns off as soon as any door/hatch as some below have mentioned it seems a kinda odd thing to buy. Personally, I just don't see the point of it.
Even factory options on new vehicles tend to do this. It's just part of the safety and anti-theft features. It's benefits still all remain where it's most beneficial in really cold or hot environments. You can turn the car on a good bit ahead of when you leave and when you do it's at an ideal temperature both for you and the vehicle mechanics themselves already once you get in.
good points made but, I just remembered its actually illegal in my state to have a car warming up unattended. And I bet that's the real reason so many forced this security override. I doubt anyone wants to deal with a possible lawsuit involving the government
After remote starting can you unlock the doors and get in with the engine running and ready to drive? Or does it turn off automatically when a door opens? I got a remote start that does than and need a different one.
Hey man. I’m new to the Tacoma world but next week I’m going to be checking out a few 05-11 models all have between 100k-170kmiles and was wondering if could get some advice on what to look for and if buying one of those years with that kind of mileage would be worth it. I’ve really only owned WRX’s so I’d appreciate the advice. Thanks.
Tacoma 2106 try install this module and don’t work , my Tacoma have the technology package, 2 touches at door handle to unlock , I not sure if that’s the problem , any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
hey josh! the install for the H key is slightly different from the smart key, you can reach out to our support team at support@tacomabeast.com for the installation guide!
Hello, my name is William, I have a Toyota Tacoma 2017, but it does not come with the control and I would like to install this control system, my question is, I do not know if it can or not.
We used this kit right here: tacomabeast.com/products/regular-key-n2-designs-16-19-tacoma-plug-play-remote-start-kit that one is for the regular key but there’s another one for the smart key 🤙
They need a key to drive off if HKEY, PTS engine stops when door is opened, not happening. You can also apply a security code to access the app separate from the phone, but you'll be going through all that trouble for nothing. Quicker to flatbed it and take it...but if you do, the apps GPS location will track it if they don't disconnect the battery first. So you can always put a hidden 12V battery (small) in parallel with the unit well hidden, it will then remain on if they DO disconnect the battery. We're going to be selling that as an add-on plug n play option to our plug n play kits. Everyone loves plug n play!
