I've been trying to get my New Nintendo 3DS to work with Xfinity, but the router is set at a frequency the 3DS doesn't understand and, thus, won't connect to it. For people who doesnt have internet after making the hotspot go to "Change adapter options" > Right Click Ethernet > Properties > Sharing > Tick Allow other networks and change Home networking connection to "Local Area Connection* # (the hotspot you made) Like this so everyone is Happy.

after installing win 10 connectify started messing up with my network setting and I was unable to use any hotspot. Your method works better than connectify. THANKS A LOT MAN!!

I get an error saying: "A device attached to the system is not functioning."

thnx! the only thing that works, after trying dozens of programs that were supposed to do the job but actually were just rubbish or malware. dont really understand why there is no decent wifi hotspot software for windows 10. but your solution works perfectly and even I could do it :)))

This tutorial is great. I have run a 20 meter usb cable to where there is public wifi available. I am using my phone to USB tether the internet to my PC and then streaming the internet out of the PC to the rest of the devices in my house.

But you are using the actual wifi adapter with internet connection, in my case it I only have ethernet connection to my laptop, will it work?

So for a long while ive been doing this method with no problems at all and it was simply lovely. However, for absolutely no reason at all, it stopped working and i need some help. When i type in "netsh wlan start hostednetwork" I get an error message that says "The Hosted Network could not be started. Allot of answers i seem to find on the Internet is to enable the Microsoft Virtual Network Adapter but i cant even find that on my device manager.
