@John Paul Alquisola, thanks for your question! From what I’ve read, it’s best to expose your shot two steps higher than normal. I’m not so sure about what zebra percentage though… I have done some quick tests but nothing extensive and I just exposed my shots like normal. I will have to film more though to really find out what settings work best. I appreciate you dropping by the channel and for checking out the video! 🙏🏾
I don't know if you figured this out, but there's a special GH6 LUT from Panasonic, not the default FCPX one and not the other Panasonic VLOG download ... took me forever to randomly find this on youtube
Hey Bernie! Sadly I saw your video after I update my Lumix GH6. I didn’t reset my SD before updating my GH6 and now I have auto focus problem. I reset it but nothing changed. What do you think should I do now? If have any idea, please help!
@MertGenco, so sorry for my late reply. Before updating your GH6, did you tweak your autofocus settings? It may have something to do with the autofocus issues. Not really sure. Also, before trying another update, you can reset your GH6 to factory settings first and test the autofocus once done. I hope that it'll do the trick. Damn, I do it exactly like you, but the icon Fimrware-Update stays gray. Maybe because I try to go from 1.0 to 2.0 directly? 1.2 is, however not on the panasonic page anymore!
@scintillatingNoise, so sorry that you're having issues with the firmware update. That's odd I'd say since I've done an update where it's a big jump to the next version and never had issues. And honestly, I don't have an answer to why it's grayed out. If you're still having troubles, I'd suggest to contact Panasonic and let them know. @@BernieHipos fixed it. "safely remove SD card" was my mistake. I never do this. once I did, it worked normally. Thanks for your thorough reply though! :)

Was the "safely remove SD card" a notification from your computer after copying the firmware? Or was it from the GH6 after putting the SD card? @@BernieHipos well it's a PC, and there is the option of "safely removing" via mouse, before physically removing it. Normally I don't do that since I never lost data, this time however it seemed to make a difference. maybe the bin file got somehow corrupted during ejection when I didn't do the software ejection before. Or Panasonic notices a slight difference in the bin file and didn't accept it. I don't hold it against them being uptight, since we are dealing with expensive hardware :)

And Mac has the same thing that I have to eject every SD card or every hard drive and it's a bit of a pain to do just that, but now I've gotten used to it and don't realize at all that I'm always doing it haha...😂 Thanks for clarifying and enjoy your newly updated GH6! I went straight from the factory firmware V 1.0 to the latest V2.1/2.2 update, no other installs in between. I'm assuming the newest version update also contains the fixes of previous update versions; do you know if this is the case? Thanks!
@Jason Hathcock, you should be good! It'll always be updated with the latest firmware and you're correct that there's no in between and whatever latest firmware available will reflect any changes/updates for the GH6. @LOST ABOVE THE WOODS, thank you and I appreciate your comment! As for the color banding, it mostly occurs due to low compression, so whenever I start editing, I set it to Apple ProRes 422 HQ codec and when I export I just use Final Cut Pro's default MP4 export settings and everything seems to work just fine and color banding has never been an issue. Also, the GH5's 180 degree shutter helps too in my opinion. I hope I answered your question and thank you for watching the video! 🙏🏽
