Wow. Great video. 5.7k at 60p! wow. I have been shooting in prores 5.2k at 24p and I thought that was as good as the GH6 got for video. That is super interesting. Just updated my camera thanks for showing me how.

@@stevelitton Please hurry! I don't care so much about the main features in this update, but I'd like to know if anything else has changed. I did notice it's a little faster to actually start recording, a little more responsive... cool! That was one of my main issues.

can I record high speed variable frame rate on an sd card? I'm having trouble being able to select VFR@@stevelitton

@@danwhiteside248 Yes, you should be able to do that for the majority of the options. Only some shooting options are able to work with VFR though. Which mode are you shooting in?

Hello, your video is very good! But I tried to do this whole process and the camera doesn't read the files on the SD card. You don't find them. What could I have done wrong? I already formatted several times and changed the cards. I can't update. Sorry for my English, it's not my native language.

No need to apologise, your English is very good! Make sure that the file you are putting on the card is the .bin file and not the .zip file as that won't work. Also make sure the file is being dropped in the root folder and not inside any folders on the card. Also if you have a CF Express card in there as well, just remove it for the update. Just let me know if you continue to have issues.

No problem, glad you found it useful 👍 I find the AF pretty good for the most part, which lens are you using? Who knows, maybe some AF updates will come.

For now i'm using 25mm 1.4 from Leica, most of the time the AF is pretty good but sometimes when i have to shoot myself for youtube videos, i often found the footage shitty because of some trouble from the AF@@stevelitton

@@yaniloutcho Hmm, it's hard to know why that is without seeing the footage and the settings you are using. But for shooting people, I have found that using the face/eye tracking with the zone focus option has worked well. If I do have issues with focus hunting I tend to use the focus limiter feature to keep it to a minimum.

Hey Steven! Sadly I saw your video after I update my Lumix GH6. I didn’t reset my SD before updating my GH6 and now I have auto focus problem. I reset it but nothing changed. What do you think should I do now? If have any idea, please help!

A firmware update shouldn't negatively affect autofocus. You can update your camera to the latest firmware version 2.5. It would also be worth checking if your lens has a firmware update as well.

Steve, what codec in the GH6 camera did you shoot to get the BRAW footage in the BMD Video Assist Monitor? Is the GH6 codec getting converted in the Video Assist? Lossless? How does that work? I also have the BMPCC4K so I am very familiar with BRAW and love it. I wish the GH6 could record BRAW internally.

Hi, I don't shoot BRAW or have a BM View Assist monitor so I might not be the best person to answer this. But the camera itself is not capable of shooting BRAW internally, it is only done through the View Assist recording directly from the sensor over HDMI and to an SSD on the monitor. Hope that helps.

Yeah, I think that is on Panasonic's end, they either throttle the speed or there are a lot of people downloading it at once. It's downloading in real time in the video, it took about a minute and a half I think.
