It was a great idea Rado to do this topic as a separate video - it’s a subject that a lot of people think about. I converted the headlight and rear fender on my 2018 300 XCW into an XC because I like the motocross look over the enduro look. That’s what’s cool about dirt bikes - they’re easy to personalize and to suit them exactly to the owner’s preferences.
Thanks for the tips on retrofitting new fender and headlights on older KTMs. Looks Great Rado and looking forward to the next video in this series! Cheers!
Great video - everyone has to buy new plastic at some point.. might as well make it look a generation newer at the same time. I do this with Hondas and older KTM's.. and I did a plastic swap on my friends 2000 YZ250 to make it look almost like a new bike! Too bad the suspension doesn't work like new. 😂
It's nice that your front-brake line routes through the shield. On my 2020 XC, I have to run the brake line behind the shield. I could install a longer brake line but haven't bothered yet. I'll see how much it bothers me over time.
Looks great! I use to like the 2011 fender but not so much anymore. I put a Jagermeister sticker/ graphic on my front fender so it doesn't look too bad, but I do need to upgrade.
Can you please do a kx250 motocross build I have one and I would love to see which direction you would go with it. And I love your channel and how much you go into detail I have learned alot by watching you do these bike builds keep doing what you are doing.
Awesome video! What tyres (model & sizing) are you running on the bike? Also what brand/year is the white plastics and headlight from? Great video and nice content. Thankyou!
With all the money going into this bike I would suggest you reach out to x-trig and get a set of red triple clamps or whatever color you like, or go with a factory one
I am going to do this to my 2010 300exc I just need to work out how the rear plastics can be done maybe the airbox has to be done so it will fit would like to see how this can be to match the front thanks for the great information 👍
I have a 2012 XCW KTM updated the airbox and it no longer properly works with the OEM Tail Fender. I had to custom fab the original fender to work with the updated Air Box. I'm guessing KTM updated the fender as well but can't 100% confirm. One would hope.
the computer sits very well ! and i think it doesnť need bilet holder around the computer just because weight . (3mm alllum. sheet)Base under the voyager may be solve it. my view , THUMBS UP!!
Hey. I have a 2009 ktm 250 xcf-w and just finished manufacturing one of those brackets to fit the newer style front fender on. However I find the look of the old radiator shrouds ugly and was wondering how I would go about fitting the newer shrouds abs possibly the entire back end onto my bike. I’ve heard it requires the corresponding years gas tank and subframe but I figured I’d ask someone with experience rather then blow $800 on parts first.
hi Luke, I did some research too and based on what I found out it wasn't worth it, some of the upgrades needed little bit of welding too.. sometimes you can bolt on one model year newer style shrouds and its ok.. you need to do the research.. I am able to run 2015 shrouds and airbox cover with 2012 rear fender and 2012 airbox.. good luck man!
@@dirtniron , think ya missed my point. They're worth more that way. And a 2 stroke, in 10 to 20 years, no they won't be drastically different at all. Same old 2 smoke technology. Some things just don't change bud. Goodluck though
