Man I'm only 10 minutes into the video and this is already the best video I've watched so far and I've watched probably about 8 other videos great job man
It’s funny how someone can say something while teaching you, and what they say sticks with you. I now use “paint, paint, paint” whenever I’m preparing.
I would like to TRULY thank you for this video! I just bought the 390 and your video saved me a lot of headaches! One of your advice about running water first through machine saved me ALOT of drama and spilled paint. I followed your advice to the letter and let me tell you this machine worked like a dream! Once again I just wanted to thank you so much! @ChokerTV Modified
you probably dont care at all but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Kenneth Shawn Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Lots of great information thank you! :) I only wish was that you were doing the explaining while you were actually priming it in the bucket of water then switching over to the paint bucket. Great video tho! Thanks again.
This was the best video I’ve seen so far for the 390 pc. Appreciate all the small details as well as the general info. I heard someone mention the type of ring to use inside the tip guard (black or yellow) depends on oil or latex. Black for latex, yellow for oil etc.. is this true?
Man I'm rolling 🤣 😂 😭 he straight forward u can turn it wide open if u want to go for it u going to over work yourself and the machine and the difference between Graco and titan is like Chevy our Ford boy I love basic taking guys u relate to them better
In your opinion for this sprayer, which tip is better for cabinets? Store told me green tip (312) is best..another painter said he only uses a 313 for cabinets & most everything else.. just curious what you would use. Thanks
Typically you want to use the FFLP tips. These are the green even numbered tips. They allow you to turn the pressure done lower on your machine, without affecting your atomization. Lower pressure with good atomization means more product will actually stay on the surface and not fly away. A lot of old school painters will use the standard tips, hard to teach an old dog new tricks. If you are using latex, the 312 is very good. If you are using oil, you can drop down to a .10 or .08. I hope this was helpful, any other questions just ask.
Thanks for the great video. I will use for the first time a sprayer (390) this coming Monday and after your video I am very confident about it. I have only one question if you have the time. Wouldn't it be better if at the end, after cleaning the sprayer I empty the sprayer from water in it? Water couldn't cause any rust inside the pump and to any metallic parts? Thank you!
The parts in the pump can rust over a very long period of time. I usually suggest putting RV antifreeze in the system if it is going to be a long time. Don't leave the system dry, that can lead to other problems.
After each use, I recommend cleaning the gun filter and the manifold filter after each use. Just pull it out and wash it with the appropriate thinner. This will lengthen the life of the filter and allow you to inspect it for damage. Thanks for the question and please subscribe.
Thanks so much for the great video. I spray a lot of xylene Solvent based products. Do you know if the Graco 390 would work with xylene solvent? Thanks In advanced!!
I just got the 210es from Amazon. Yes, another pre used, half unpackaged, should I send it back or not product from the Zon. I had a titan 440 that was stolen. That machine pushed me to move faster as a novice. If this machine doesn’t give me that same feeling, it’s going back.
How much paint do you use in the course of a week or in a month? The 210 is a good machine, with a 15 or 17 tip, it will give you the same production as a 440. It sprays the same materials as a 440. With the same tip, you will notice no difference in the 2.
@@Brian_the_repair_guy I used to be somewhat of a painter. I have been some of everything since then. I bought this machine to help renovate a rental property of mine. Actually the house my 440 was stolen out of. It was like from 26 years ago. All metal frame and tubes. I guess my real question is, how will my 210 compare to your 390? There are hardly any videos of anyone using a 210 on RU-vid.
@@dumdiversaspapalbull1452 the delivery of the 210 is slightly less than the 390. When using a 15 or 17 tip, you will see bo difference in production. I own a 190ES, I have owned many machines over the years, I like the 190/210 the best for homeowners or beginning painters. If you were doing 50 plus gallons weekly, then the 390 would be better. Given your situation, 190/210 will be perfect.
For clean up do you disconnect the hose and gun or do you leave it all connected and just flush and wash it ? I am a homeowner so won't be spraying every day
Leave everything attached and flush. You can remove the filters and clean by hand. Once you are satisfied with the cleaning, leave everything in place as if it was going to be used. Pump antifreeze (RV) into the machine and leave it
@Brian_the_repair_guy awesome thank you! 2 others questions I got pump armour when I bought the 390 so I was going to use that instead of antifreeze while I have it But do you just leave it in the pump ? Or also in the hose all the way to the gun ? How do I know forsure all the pressure is released at shutdown ? Is there a way to verify ? Thanks so much for all the info, great videos, just subscribed!
@@chriscarr1791 I prefer to pump the antifreeze or armor through the machine and out the gun. To ensure there is not pressure, open the prime valve and pull the trigger
@@rodneystewart6358 ok. Seems you may have 2 problems. Not running at low pressure could be a pressure control issue. The second issue of continuous running, could be a packing issue or something in the pump. If you want to contact me on Facebook I can help better. Look for my name on Facebook. I can direct message and send pictures if needed
I just got a 390 and have a project at home this weekend. Curious why do you have to keep taking the tip off ? Couldnt that just stay on ? (just trying to understand that part and if its totally necessary?) thank you for such a great video!
I will typically take the tip and housing off when I am moving material trough the system to flush it. I am not sure specifically where you are reffering to about tip removal
@@Brian_the_repair_guymy apologies, i just rewatched your video again, it is excellent. I was referring to removing the housing when you are setting it up with water and moving to paint. Just wondering if removing the housing in those steps is necessary and what would happen if the housing was left on ? The amount of steps is worrisome if something gets forgotten.
@@chriscarr1791 you can leave it on. By removing it, you speed up the process by moving much more material to flush the system. By leaving it on, the material moves much slower. Either way works
@Brian_the_repair_guy excellent thank you! Was worried about any possible damage and injecting myself with paint playing with the housing so much. One last question on clean up, what is your process on cleaning the filters ? Thanks again!
Hey Brian I am a firefighter full time. I’m looking to start a repair service. I am north of metro Atlanta. Could we possibly get In touch and talk shop. Thank you
Matt, I am sorry. I don't make direct contact with subscribers and viewers. I hope you understand. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I also try and produce videos on repairs based on viewers also.
This video is for beginners to spraying. If you need to ask why I added the step of removing the housing, then you most certainly should be removing the housing.
