Does the WING do delay compensation? If not shouldn’t you be adding the EFX comp to both? If it does delay compensation why not just use the drums from LR and one group for parallel?
I was wondering this as well!!! I usually run my kick to a sub mix(I use one of the 4 master channels) as well... would you just send the // compressed subgroup to the sub mix and cut(crossover style) everything above 125ish on the subs or leave the // subgroup out of the subs all together?
Okay could you please make a video how to connect a Midas Hub 4 to a DL32 Stagebox using the 'Thru' AES50 connection of the DL32, and how to route the connection on the console... thank you
Great video, thank you! Question we have an electronic drumset (Efnote 7x) and it's great, but I'm wondering if we can do parallel compression with it. I was thinking of just doing a high pass filter to cut out the cymbals, crash, highats - but not sure how that would work given you boosted that area on your toms/kick acoustic drum group. Thanks!
Drew, love the channel, you've been a real life saver for me! I use an X32 as the I/O for my recording studio. To use outboard gear I send DAW outputs 17-32 to the corresponding X32 channels via USB and route those channels to the XLR outputs of the X32. Then inputs 1-16 are my returns which go back into the DAW. Is it possible to route the card inputs from the DAW directly to the XLR outputs without needing to tie up channels 17-32 on the board?
Hi Drew, Loving your videos! Is there any way you could share the stems for the track you are using please so I can use it as a virtual sound check/mix practice please? Thank you so much! :) Dan
Hey Drew. Kinda having a hard time figuring out how to do something with the wing that you definitely wouldn’t have a video about. Would love to chat about it sometime.
Drew! One thing I wanted to know and couldn't find anywhere: How can I use external Inserts in my channels? A cable going out, a cable going in, and everything arrives in the same channel. I was thinking about using a Midas DN4888 exclusively for this setup (so I could insert up to 8 external FXs into whatever channels I need, right?) Is that possible in the Wing? Can you make a video about it?
Why you don't get an X32 rack just for the monitoring, that is going to free up all of your busses on the wing and the 2 consoles work together without any issues. You can easily take the inputs from an S32 or M32 to feed both consoles at the same time. The investment for an X32 rack, it's very reasonable.
@@leonardocaminati6432 because then I'd have to mix everything twice. All the processing I'd do on one, I'd have to do that again on the other. And if I add a source to 1, I would then have to remember to add the source to the other. Basically doesn't sound appealing to me because I don't like doing twice the work every time I change something.
