Three years ago I was struggling to make ends meet as a musician when in a bought DB EQ preset and started learning how to become a sound engineer. A year later I got promoted to be a sound engineer at my old church making 16K a year and six months later I got hired to work in corporate gig making 10X more. I am so thankful for you Drew you changed my life and the decision I made was worth it.

You are implying you are making 160k a year as a one-year experience audio engineer. Is that correct? Some of us with 30 years in the IT industry aren't doing that well, sadly.

TIP: If you add the bass (guitar) to the drumbusses, you got a very poular technique called "New York compression". What differs New York compression from regullar paralell drum compression is the EQ curve, and the adittion of the bass. Try it. You might like it.

As usual, again an excellent didactic video, where, in addition to deal with the main subject, you make some subtle reminders on how standard functionalities of the Behringer X32 works. An idea that I would love to see : everytime you show a feature on the board, you could display simultaneously in a thumbnail how it shows on the iPad app, as I'm also using a Behringer X32 rack. Thanks very much, Drew!

The point about latency to different groups was a reminder (almost slap on head moment) for me in terms of DAW mixing and reminder to make sure the same plug-ins are in-line with both buses when doing multi-instrument bus sets, even if disabled. I am going to consider doing a drum crush bus pair now at church, but only for stream as the room is already loud with an un-caged drum set that can be heard almost as loud as when it is in the mix and when muted. And our players do not hold back. (ugh for me and those sitting close to drums).

Very cool, super useful, and clearly explained! On a side note. I'm considering implementing this on the cover band I mix regularly live, though I currently use the DCA's as opposed to subgroups for my group mixing (Drums, Tracks. Bass, Guitar, Keys, Vox, FX, House music), but I could easily set my Drums DCA to those busses instead of the channels themselves (or leave it, it might be nice to back off the compression when reducing the group's volume, I'd have to try it both ways)

Hey, love your vids. They’ve helped us a lot. I was wondering if you’d be able to create a video on how to create a multitrack recording while live streaming with Dante. We have two computers and would like to record on one, so we can improve our mixing skills and teach others by playing it back. Whilst still being able to livestream on the other computer. Would be a bonus if you’d include how to play audio from a computer while still being able to create the multitrack recording and stream at the same time.

Hey man Loved your two videos on mixing good monitor. Are you planning on continuing that series? I believe you mentioned something about 19 kHz pilot issues.

If bus 7 and 8 are just a pass thru, you don't really need it (except for delay compensation and fx). Just let the individuals feed the 2buss and send them in bus 9/10 for the parallel stuff

I was just wondering about this ..... seems like its a waste of a Stereo Bus if you're not doing anything to it ..... but I know he mentioned that he normally does some EQ stuff to it, just not for this video.

If you use the basic channel compressor, no dly compensation needed.

Hey! In a video titled "Improve your Snare Drum - Behringer X32" you mentioned posting a video on setting up mics for recording a drumset. I'd love to see that from you. It's been a year since that video:)

Hi drew! Do you know if internal compressors (not fx compressors) are dual mono or stereo?

Hey Drew maybe I've missed something but just curious as to why you need to setup 4 buses for this? Could you not leave your individual drums sent to the main and just setup a parallel bus, saving the 2 extra buses for other use? I'm guessing it's for the sake of being able to mute and listen to just the parallel bus in the room? Again just curious if theres something I've missed here as I think for a lot of people using 4 buses might not be an option or just give more flexibility overall. Appreciate all your insights!

I was wondering the exact same question. I think maybe he set it up like that to demonstrate the last part where he sends the buses through a rack effect that adds latency?

I was also wondering about this! I'm going to leave my drums as is just and set up a stereo bus for this effect. I dont have that many buses free.

Hello, Drew. Thanks so much for your video tutorials. They have been so much helpful. Can I ask if I can use my S32 digital snake with PC X32 EDIT to mix. This was being considered in the event that there is no X32 Digital Console physically present.

On Behringer X32, I would like to divert two audio channels from the main speakers to just a single monitor. I don't want them to go through the main speakers only to a monitor. How can I do that? If yes, Can you help me to do the thing step by step please.

Process for taking channels out of Main LR 1) select the channel 2) unselect stereo bus in "main bus" section Process to route channels to monitor/floor wedge 1) choose a mixbus to assign for floor wedge( if this is a floor wedge for vocals make sure it is configured to prefader so that adjustments in your main mix is not affecting this monitor) 2) select that mixbus and press "sends on fader" button and bring faders for needed audio channels to desired level 3) unselect sends on fader so you dont cause yourself unneeded problems hope this helps
