I dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost the account password. I would love any help you can offer me.
Me too. I had the same stud finder, and I thought that device was very inaccurate. Now, I learned, and the first time ever, was able to find the studs. For e.g., I didn't know that the finder needed to be moved very slowly...
Thank you! I’ve had that same stud finder for 2 years now and every time I try to use it I have problems. It didn’t come with the instructions like you gave.
Learning how to Adult on youtube!!! Thank you for this video!!! My stud finder literally had a diagram with the buttons on it and how to put but battery in and nothing else. 🙄🙄 this was super helpful for me!! Thank you.
Wow! Thank you for such a simple and clear, step-by-step video! You are to be commended for getting straight to the point and really showing a logical way to do this.
That was awesome thank you. I take care of an elderly gentleman and I was putting up bars for him to brace himself when he’s walking around the house or getting in and out of the shower and I totally forgot how to use a stud finder because I hadn’t done anything like that in a while. So instead of watching ur video I tried to do it my way and ended up putting a bunch of random holes in the walls…yeeeah.
Thanks for the awesome video, I have a better idea of what I did wrong when trying to put up the shelves my wife wanted. I wish youtube had a star system, this video would easily get 5 of them :)
Good demonstration. I've had mixed results when using a stud finder. also, if the wall is constructed with aluminum studs its a different type of surface and hard to attach a nail or screw.
awesome video. thanks a lot I was using correctly i guess but when i measured between studs i was getting 14", so i'll go back use the 2 step method, find the edge of the stud, then verify the other edge of the stud to mark the middle. thx
Nailing on the stud gets tons of support for what you are hanging, but has a greater risk of being where wires, pipes, and things you generally do not want to penetrate are
Hi, how can I help me? I need wall scanner, which has many few functions details(NEW). what new thing would you add this device. Who will offer a newer, more comfortable innovation that is not yet available. Thanks a lot
I have the exact same thing. It doesn’t even come with batteries when you buy most stud finders. It gave me all kinds of readings and when I drilled, it was on a conduit and almost cut an electrical wire. After three holes drilled, I ended up using a heavy duty anchor to hang the heavy stuff. Stud finder only works on simple walls and nothing attached to those studs. Even in the manual it says not to rely on it fully.
After talking to my buddy about his rare stud finder mishaps, I've come to the conclusion that these should be called "Dense mass finder." Why is it called a stud finder when water lines, electrical wiring and other things set this thing off?
Thats why its important to go from a wall or switch/receptacle as starting point. I hear ya on that amd diffocult if there's no real starting point sometimes. Hard to trust who builds things these days..
you always drill in the middle of the stud. so the two lines mark where the stud ends and where it begins, so we have placed the x on the middle so that is where you drill. hope that helps. 💪😁👍
I was thinking finding a stud meant that's where an electric wire or something metal would be. So the stud is the place you want to drill, specifically wooden area safe for drilling.
Rather than mark up your wall with pencil marks, put a piece of blue painters tape over the area you are looking for the stud and put the marks on the tape instead.
this particular one is a piece of junk. i’m sure i don’t have studs every 4 inches of my wall! what a POS. i agree with the person who said just buy the best one and then return it 🙄
in some cases you will noticed that the stud finder will beep differently or not turn green or red depending on the stud finder (you can refer to owners manual for specific sound or light beeps or color depending on your particular model or brand). but usually in the corners you have studs so a few inches away from the corners you don't or a few inches from any of the sides from a outlet or light switch because they are usually on studs.
If youre going to nail or drill later ...... Just drill or nail starting at one point & nail or drill horizontal across the wall, you can feel the resistsnce when it goes into the stud, easily. In other words..... drilling....... thr drill ill let loose after it clears the drywall, about 1/2 inch in or so ....... when its on the stud though, it will keep drilling or nailing almost all the way in. - then simply spackle over the old holes. way easier than piddling around with math & some electrical gadjet imo
Maybe ok to test in a shop but no one needs that on newly painted wall..lol maybe if you dont care if you actually hit a Stud and put in an anchor in case you miss it..
