Do note that BDB and HALOT are no longer considered THE standard Hebrew dictionaries. That pride of place FIRST belongs to Cline's Dictionary of Classical Hebrew - now in its revised edition. When completed, DCHR will be 5 million words in length (equivalent to 50 standard-size books), 25% longer than DCH, and 4 times the length of BDB and HALOT. The other standard Hebrew dictionary is Hebräisches und Aramäisches Handwörterbuch über das Alte Testament: Gesamtausgabe (Springer 2013) by Wilhelm Gesenius (German Edition). Of course, TWOT, TLOT, TDOT, and NIDOTTE all have their place next to BDB and HALOT - just be aware of both of their limitations (along with the limitations of ALL Hebrew dictionaries) Keep up the great work - it is much appreciated :-)
@bitesizeseminary Davidson you can think of it like a concordance but with out the verses just the words as they as but with the grammatical break down then the root so you can quickly identify the root and grammar
I think you should let people know about the greens interlinear and gesenius lexicon coded to strongs. You get all three of these with a e w bullinger companion bible and you will learn that bdb as fast as you allow the Holy Spirit to work.
New to this. From what I've studied, I see explanations from biblical language scholars saying almost all interlenears are not good. Ive also heard (strongs) are vague in a sense it doesn't give options and more insight like the other two. My list from what I've gathered from (multiple resource research) is Halot, BDAG and a Youngs literal Translation for keys and proper word placement compared to the original text. I've heard the YLT being compared to a interlenear without the biblical language on the page. Can you give me a accurate answer of how this sounds and why I may benefit adding in a strongs or between the 3 on the list i mentioned, would I have enough?
@@greglovelace246 the inter linears are just copies of the original manuscripts, all the other stuff is just commentary you can take or leave it. But the actual jots and tittles of Hebrewchaldee and Greek inter linear manuscripts are perfect. Any true teacher will teach you to think and question for your self what others say. Put myself and my words to the test. Study to show yourself approved. Good luck and Godbless.
