Is it Necessary to optimise category in Yoast setting? I mean focus keyword, meta description etc.... If it is beneficial to optimise it in Yoast then can we use our main keyword in focus keyword.? Will it create any problem related to Keyword stuffing.?

Hi Salman! We don't recommend using the same focus keyword more than once so if you've already used a focus keyword somewhere else, don't use it again to optimize a category. To help you with optimizing categories, please refer to this article: yoast.com/taxonomy-seo-categories-tags/

I would like to follow your tutorial but I can't find "permalinks" in my wordpress (i have premium plan) Was there an update after you posted your video or the function isn't available for premium plan?

Thanks for reaching out here. We are sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the permalinks. We can confirm that the Yoast SEO Premium update doesn't remove the permalinks. That said, since you have Yoast premium plugins, we recommend you please reach us out at support@yoast.com with the relevant screenshots and more information about the issue that you're currently experiencing so that we can investigate the issue further for you. A Very Helpful video I have a query Regarding Post Tags in WordPress. My WordPress theme displays the post Tags URL in google. Mostly I use more than 5 tags for each post in my WordPress site, and almost all tags are index by Google. Even I am getting most traffic from tags. Because instead of page tags getting ranked. So what should I do now? How to fix this issue. I already disable tags indexing in SEO Yoast. But the tags that already indexed Should I remove URLs of those tags from Google search console. Is it safe to deindex Post Tags in WordPress? Or what should I do in order to avoid content duplication without giving up the ranking? Should I redirect those post Tags to custom post URL? Moreover, I also use Canonical tags to each Post I'd appreciate any advice.

Taxonomies page like tags archive can boost the organic traffic from search results. We do not recommend you to noindex them but optimize them correctly. You can find more information about this here. yoast.com/taxonomy-seo-categories-tags/#.com&

Changing categoriese to tags sounds like something I would like to do. However, then so many permalinks are changing that had the word "category" or "tag" in them. Even though I could do a redirect, isn't it a bad idea for seo and such to do too many of those?

Hi Lydia, when changing from categories to tags, you can use the redirect manager to handle the change. However, we do recommend checking if the change is necessary. It's the same with changing your site structure in general - you shouldn't do it too often. We hope this helps!

@@yoast Thank you so much! Yes, we are do a pretty big update to the site, including sitemap and navigation but I want to keep as many permalinks intact as I can. It is a difficult balance to strike I think.

Dont suppose anyone knows but for my menu can I make it a random assortment of tags and categories? Is it better to be just the top categories?

Hi Janet! What you can do is edit the post, remove the incorrect category, and replace it with the correct one.

Hi! We would expect Yoast.com, My.yoast and the Academy.yoast to all be using SSL! Can you let us know what link or site is having the issue? Or elaborate more on what exactly is appearing when you visit the URL?

@@yoast Thank you very much for the answer. You guys are teaching about the SEO settings and SSL certificate is the basic and SEO factor for a Website. You guys should use real settings instead of local site. Anyway, thanks for the video, I learnt the concept of Categories and tags and will surely implement on my website which is under development.
