HOW TO USE ELGATO HD 60 WITH PS3 - Elgato 60 Setup PS3 HDMI Splitter - Elgato PS3 Tutorial 

Thank you for explaining this in under 3 minutes. Other videos are like 5-10 minutes long to explain simple stuff.

I didn't even need a third hdmi as everything is going through my pc, now I can play/stream some ps3 games that I've been wanting to do for a VERY long time. Thanks to you.

This did work for me. I did buy this exact unit on Amazon, I followed the instructions as the video says (although I didn't plug it into TV from the splitter, because I just let it stream right into my computer) and it's working perfectly for me. I also stream on a iMac, if that helps anyone as well. Thanks so much for the post.

A straight forward, not recorded by someone shaking the camera around and saying ummmm errrrmmmm every two seconds...I mean props to anyone trying to help by uploading guides but it makes life so much less stressful when they make a guide like you have!

05/26/20 ATTENTION: TO THOSE WHO ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE AUDIO. I have found a video that explains how to correct this! The channel is Metatron and all you have to do is hold the power on a few times and it will change the audio settings to work with the HDMI!

Great tutorial! FYI, it doesn't allow higher than 30fps for ps3 since ps3 runs 30fps on most games

I got this splitter and it worked, but it only showed on my computer screen, not my monitor. Also, on my monitor, it had a square screen with white interference or something like that. So, I reset the settings on the PS3 and that didn't work, it just made the screen black. So I thought, It looks like the rooting single is just going into a half circle, the single isn't complete. So, I grabbed the HDMI cord that was connected to the monitor and one of the HDMI Output from the Splitter and connected it to the out of the HD60, and it work! I hope that helps people. when I click on the link for the splitter, it says in CAPS that this splitter is not capable to bypass the HDCP...? I dont understand

I know some PS3 games are 720p, but is possible to have the capture card 1080p, or no? This is my curiosity. My second question, with the HDMI Splitter, can you livestream PS3 and Elgato HD 60?

It didnt work??? :( I bought a HDMI splitter and did everything according to this video. When I turn on my Elgato software it says there is still an HDCP Problem and it shows me a blue screen. Please helP

It allows me to record audio on the PS3 menu but once I open any game the Elgato lose signal and reopens and when it reopens the video is fine but the audio is gone. However, the audio is still there for the tv.

Hi, I hope you're able to still answer this. I've followed all of the instructions but it is not working for me. Maybe I have a bad HDMI or something but I'm hoping I'm just missing something. I don't understand how you do this without using the Output portion of the Elgato capture card. That's how I usually connect my consoles to display, both the input and the output of the capture card. But according to these instructions it only talks about the input, leaving the output empty?

Thanks much for this. Believe him with what he said about that specific splitter folks. I tried a Radio Shack $40 model before this one, I got bubkiss. This one worked the 1st time. The only issues I had were with Twitch itself, the quality didn't appear as crisp as it did on the Elgato screen.

The Amazon listing states "HDCP COMPLIANT - WILL NOT BYPASS HDCP SIGNAL" so I haven't bought it yet, but I'm reading others are having issues in the comments. So how is yours working?

Also i suggest changing the input or output in elgato software to Xbox 360 if last gen recording as it should want to output at 60fps over hdmi. That was one issue PS3 had was it wouldnt allow recording nor transfer of 60fps.

Okay so first this works Although you may run into some problems (not related to this video) (also I’m using a laptop) 1. Low bandwidth: your pc/lab top may not be powerful enough to broadcast properly and you may need to adjust settings or your laptop/pc 2. (Please note I’m using a dell gaming laptop) so you will be able to stream for a few minutes then your power will randomly shut off. This may happen for a variety of reasons like, overheating or windows 10 issues. If anyone knows ways to work around these issues please let everyone here know.

Worked for me, maybe make sure your connections are correct, double, triple check, i had my power box unplugged :D happy gaming!

To non-Americans, you need a plug adapter for this to work, because not every country uses the same type of plug! The AC-adapter seen here uses type A (which is used in North America and most of Latin America). If want to know which plug outlet your country uses, just Google it. After that, order a _type A to type _ plug adapter!

Great video, but how do I get the audio to come out to headphones, but still also have sound going to the stream? With modern console this is achieved via chat link and the controllers having headphone jacks in them, but I don't know how to achieve this on a ps3.

I got it, I set it up and it works, but when I try to record my gameplay it keep freezing, I have a razer game capture card.

Im having issues with recording my ps3 (using an hdmi splitter 1 to 2 output device and elgato hd60s on standard quality 30fps) when i click on a demo or a game the connection time (or running time) freezes on black screen and the program ceases to continue even if i close or exit the demo/game. Meanwhile the tv is going through well. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the UK here and couldn't get the exact model featured in the video, but found an alternative, the iSolem (found here on Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006KZBC92/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item) that works perfectly with the Elgato HD60 capture using the method above. Just a heads up for any fellow Brits looking for a working alternative, cheers!

So I bought this same splitter set up the wires the same way. When I'm on my dashboard it works perfectly. Signal comes through and everything. As soon as I start a game I get a white screen with static interference. And it gets stuck there. But when I switch inputs to my tv the game is playing fine. Does anyone else have this problem or a solution?

My game screen go blank for 2,3 sec it makes recording miss few sec I tired to turn off deep colour setting but problem still exists

Hi Cho0per im sorry to say that but i connected the capture card(the cable from the PS3 connected to the HDMI input on the splitter) and all i got was black screen and no signal displayed we ordered a new splitter and we'll see how that will turn out

So it not like the PS4 and Xbox 1 where you don’t need a splitter you just plug into capture card then into tv plug into pc or laptop off you go

This does not seem to work with my setup. I plugged the PS3 into the splitter's input, output 1 into the TV and output 2 into the Elgato like in the video, but the light indicating a signal is being sent to to output 2 only turns on briefly before shutting back off.
