How to connect PS3 With elgato HD60 S+ Easy How To

Can you please show how to use the elgato hd60s plus with the 4k software. It looks like you were using older software. I cannot not find the settings to show where the input is coming from! For example you showed at the end of the video it was coming from ps4. I could not find this! Idk if that is my problem. I put the quality to 720p. I also had my ps3 output the same display. Is there anything that I need to do on the PlayStation 3 side? Please let me know if you can help?

So, my biggest problem is audio. Sometimes, everything sounds normal but then it gets high pitched and doesn't sound right. Usually happens every 5-9 seconds

Also, there's a very, very slight audio delay when I'm previewing that I can't seem to fix

I cannot wait to see this video. I have the exact same tools you are using in the video, and I still cant get the PS3 to display anything but a black screen when I try to capture.

How did you get this to work with the HD60 X?

@@FriedCheesy for some reason it won’t show up on my Screen in the 4k capture utility but it will show on my monitor

@@relaxed-rest88 it’s because the new versions of that splitter don’t strip ps3 hdcp. I bought another one off amazon and it worked like a charm. It’s called the HBAVLINK it’s $30 but will fix your problem. I had one of the older orei’s like the one linked and it worked years ago. I bought one of the newer ones a couple months back and it’s a paper weight. They must’ve changed them with the newer models.

splitter, make sure it says bypass HDCP. I think they are starting to patch the splitter work around.

@@benoscar5708 HDCP is a protection that Sony put on the PS3 and we can't simply stream because of it. So the spitter that you have needs to be one that can bypass HDCP. check the description on the box or information on your spitter. Not all spitters can bypass the protection. also there might be other reasons but this is a common one. another reason could be your cords. they need to be fast enough to transfer the data or else the screen is back. the usb cord usually is blue on the inside port. so sorry I don't have a clear answer but I'm working on a new video to try to solve this annoying problem. You just plugged the Elgato right into the ps3 and the computer and it worked? Currently trying to figure out if I will need a splitter or not, I have the super slim

@@LowSteaksGaming I seen this happen on my OBS. I usually just select another capture device and revert back to my Elgato capture card and the image signal is restored. On the new OBS make sure you select “capture card device” as the source and select the Elgato HD. If all that fails unplug the hdmi plugged to the ps3 and re-insert the hdmi cable to the splitter. Make sure the HDMI carrying the ps3 feed is the one you are unplugging and plugging back into the splitter.

@@itzthisguytay I recently found out that a lot of games run in 720p. If you have a higher setting it shows black. try switching it to 720 and hopefully it works for you. also make sure you are using the correct cables supported by the capture card. Not all cords are created equal. hope it works man.

Good Catch! If you also want to plug in your TV you will need 3 HDMI cords (one going to the TV). I just play on my computer so I didn't think to show the connection to the TV. But you definitely could if you want to. =)

@@thetechmost ohhhh. Didn’t know you could do that / or didn’t dawn on me. Do you have specific recording settings you could share? I figure it would be the same using RPCS3?

@@c-dub30 Sweet! yeah, I'm still playing around with my settings for best results. With some settings it sometimes glitches or cuts recording so I'm working on finding the best settings. Once I have something that works great I will share with you.

The Elgato website, you should be able to download it there for your computer. I hope this helps.

I know it's late reply, but ... the key is on ps3 audio setting. set the hdmi audio output to the most simple mode (uncheck the surround or something)

Sometimes it causes a lag for me but it might just be my computer. Let me know if you try it and it works perfect for you.

You need the HD60 S+ and the Splitter. With these 2 things it should work fine

@khhouser1060 I think what I did was plug it in, and if I didn't see playback from the recording software, I'd unplug it and then plug it back into the PS3. I'll need to check on this again once I have more time since I just moved to a new apartment and need to unpack everything.

Great question! yeah, the other HDMI cable would go to the TV if you wanted to hook it up. In my case I just wanted to view the system on the computer so I didn't connect the other HDMI to the TV. I probably should have mentioned that.

If you try this be careful because they are patching the Splitters now and they are not working. just a heads up. I tried looking for something that works but if you read the comments they're might be some helpful tips if you are trying to play PS3. I'm not sure why Sony made it so hard for us to play on these systems.

@@thetechmost I have been trying to capture PS3 gameplay because I pulled out my old Call Of Duty games to make some old school COD gameplay content since it seems as if people are starting to gain interest in the older games again because of the issues with the current game MWII. It seems as if the Elgato 4K Capture program is the way to go using the HD60 S+ with a splitter to bypass the PS3 security since the Elgato Game Capture HD no longer works with the HD60 S+. I have the OREI HDS-102 splitter & it worked at first then, the screen disappeared. I'm deciding on whether or not to order another HDS-102 or try to go with something different. Everyone I talked to said The HDS-102 is the way to go but I think its weird how its worked at first & then, just gave me a black screen. Wanted to give you some insight since you said you were thinking about updating this video. hopefully it works for you. I look forward to future tech videos.

@@TMacGamer Thank you man! I'm working on this video and its a little bit harder than it seems. I'm trying to make it simple for people to follow but Sony seems to patch the splitters now. The spitter I was using was perfect but there was an update at some point that blocked it. There was also a IOS system update that has happened and IDK if that also has something to do with it. They can't just let us play, they have to make it difficult lol. I guys the TV will have to do for now

@@TMacGamer DUDE SAME, I have both OREI HDS-102 & HDS-102 have the same problem even when using both at the same time. work for 3 sec then BLACK so annoying I just want play some video games and stream! Been looking all for days. Finally found someone with the same problem

@@skit. I actually found one that works... I got a UHD 4Kx2K 3D 1X4 HDMI Splitter on ebay. It took a bit to figure out after I had everything connected & the capture program running, I needed to unplug it & plug it back in for it to work. I was pleasantly surprised when i got the PS3 screen showing. It was only $20 on Ebay so if it didn't work it wasn't the end of the world. It's a black box that has orange colored letters & logo. the lettering says: UHD 4Kx2K 3D 1X4 HDMI Splitter It has 1 input & 4 HDMI outputs. Next to the HDMI input it has 5 green lights & 1 red light. The GREEN lights are labeled: IN 1 2 3 4 The RED light says: PW Just after the lights is a DC 5V input On the other side are just HDMI Outputs labeled 1-4 Hope this helps.

One thing it could be is the USB cable. Make sure you have the correct 3.0 usb (has a blue stripe on the inside) that came with the Elgato. I had my ps3 not pop up because I was using the wrong usb cord. I hope that helps =)

Because no matter what this is impossible to do it's not really the tutorial makers fault. I just don't think the PS3 was meant for this. I couldn't get to work and just moved on.

Of course, more people giving me crap for this? Again, if it's so simple in some way, then why can't you explain it simply as clear as possible?
