Yeah there is no indication you have to do that at all no message nothing , and when I did it my production line instantly became outdated I still do not know what is going on and will just not use them they are stuffing up my game play at present
We need an overview for all variants of MIO (like there's unique one in soviets I think which buffs trains, rail guns and stuff) and maybe even a tier list
I think it’s a bit confusing that you assign MIO both to the Equipment and to the production line. But hey now you can role play and have Porsche Produce Tanks Designed by MAN and Henschel.
I *Think* the intent was for you to have the option of making “research” companies and “manufacturing” companies with different bonuses doing different things
@@jasonhenry8067 I'm not sure that's it, because the some company can do both. I think it's more they want you to pick and choose, do you take the higher boost for a company you may not use, or take a smaller boost but get better stats faster from the one you want :)
@@hammotimeeit doesnt just earn xp that way, it also applies production-related bonuses, that are applied only when mio assigned to a production line, not to equipment variant
I can't wait to get that dlc in sale, 2/3 years from now ! (as I did for every dlc, as I want the payblock whole new systems -MIO and marketplace here- (my favorite is the convert option, when I play with a mod allowing me to convert every weapon of every level to my newest one (and with upgrade for every weapon, not just tank and planes -and a cheating table allowing me up to +90 upgrades without the production cost increasing) -instead of keeping captured bad weapons that I will delete to keep my stockpile clean from such shit) but don't believe that Paradox's dlc is worth the price they put -as I play their dlc focus only 3/4 times for achievments then never again, and only the payblock system is worth it most of the time, but not 20€ !) Especially to play MIO in MilleniumDawn or Iron Curtain. (the producing xp will be harder to get, given how long modern weapons takes to create) and maybe one day, both mods with Paradox's help (meaning Paradox fixing their marketplace to be moddable, not just use IC as a currency) will find a way to include the marketplace ! (and have AI use it too^^) Still great video, I wanted to see how it worked, what type of bonus.
I still find it confusing after realising it has to be applied to weapon selection screen too , now the level 3 production line I was working on is outdated and obsolete I don't know what is going on
The interface kinda sucks and is confusing, and there's no automation I understand the Idea, but I feel like making something similar to doctrine would work better, hell, make it use doctrine xp as well and adjust the costs
@@hammotimee Not quite, I think it's a fundamentally bad idea that a new equipment variant is created every time. To which you then have to upgrade the old equipment again. Instead, you could see it as a choice of production location. Where the bonuses are simply added to each piece of equipment assigned to the company right away.🤔
Honestly, I don't think the _thought process_ to that is dumb, since that's basically how variants of aircraft worked irl: the designers learned from their mistakes and tuned up the existing aircraft with their newfound knowledge It does get tedious though
@@spindash64 if you add something that is more tedious then fun, then you should think again if this is reale what you want to add. Changing modules should need new variants, but the Design Office? Its a bit mutch...
@Capt_Mortis Don't get me wrong, it's micromanaging on top of a micromanaging-heavy game. I just think it's worth acknowledging that there was _A_ thought that went into that decision
NAA looks like it might actually be pretty nutty with the most recent changelog: being able to fit 10% max speed and 20% max range on your Light Fighters with just 2 upgrades (first upgrade is only for Medium aircraft, but still useful for your Tacs) is good stuff: that means a much larger percentage of each air zone can be covered, meaning better efficiency, meaning you effectively get more planes in the air at once than your opponent Of course, I could just be latching onto the wrong bonuses to be excited about, but with how much airspace the US of A needs to cover, being able to get that coverage with the much cheaper and more agile light fighters seems like a big deal, especially compared to the more modest bonuses that appear in the tank and ship designer lists Edit: sounds like it gets even goofier than I thought: there's another bonus for +10% range and one for +15% range, giving a final bonus of _+45%_ to your fighter's range. That's almost as much as an Extra Fuel Tank modification, but with no weight stacking OR defense cut For speed, you can get a smaller grand total of +15% Agility? +25% Air Attack? +12% Ground Attack? +15% Slap some rocket rails onto your 1940 or 1944 light fighter design, and you've suddenly got a bird that can outrun, out-turn, out shoot, and out bomb everything, while also being able to show up almost EVERYWHERE This doesn't even consider the bonuses you can apply to your Medium Bombers to create an Armada of The Magic Skill Bus
Wow, I kinda got all of it already on my own thanks to sacred trial&error approach but I completely missed that there could be an internal policy inside MIO! Thanks!
Thanks Mate - great. I did a USA run first - eh ? As they have 6 research slots and a ton of factories it was the best way to get to know the arms market, MIOs and other features. For MIOs I have gone from its a pain in the a.. - to fiddly - to I think I get it - and (with the help of your video) to "Satisfactory" achievement in 24 hours. A tip - under officer corps / navy - flexible contracts gives 80% MIO research cost discount. Instead of 0.1 pp its only 0.02, so worth getting this before doing too much navy research. Look forward to your next content. I picked all the wrong things on the marines/ paras doctrine trees, so would welcome your ideas. MMM
Absolutely agree! I jumped in to play them too, I was the Angel of Death in no time haha That's great! I find that's the way with a lot of new features, they get easier over time haha The officer corp tip is great, thank you very much! I am planning on make a video on the international market as well as the special forces doctrine changes, but due to some travel and things I may not be able to get them out for a little while
Hi! Thanks for directing me to the troops newbie video in that other video. I got a question! Would there be any reason to use an MIO that affects less than others? For example in my game, there's one MIO that affects only infantry equipment, and there is another that affects infantry equipment & also support equipment, so would there be a reason for me to choose the former MIO?
Afte one play through I'm not sure, but I think its an idea to look at the MIO tree - the inf equip only MIO may give better overall bonuses for your game plan than a MIO spread across two (or more) categories. Just a thought ?
You're welcome, and great question! This is common with the navy too, it depends what you want to level up more/first. If you have an MIO that can give bonuses to support and inf, I would take that, because you'll level up an MIO for two equipment types faster, than if you did the inf only one AND the inf and support one at the same time. Although if you only care about bonuses on your inf equipment, just do that one
Maybe they changed that recently, or maybe it's just the US being different, but with all the research you gotta do, and all the later rearmament you'll need to pull, I've found that your shipbuilding MIOs actually level up VERY quickly. With aircraft, it's a fair bit trickier though
I did ask about that, they said they'll leave it up to the modders, but the number of MIOs is intended as a balancing feature which makes sense. Still sad I can't rename them
Would be lovely if you make a tutorial while playing a game from south america or africa, showing step by step what are you doing, will make us understand the game better. i mean multiple videos not 1 full with info :P
Good idea! I do plan to do something similar, but in the meantime check out this video :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xY7_8N8OMC4.html&ab_channel=HammoTimee
Well i thought i did watch all your videos, i think i did miss this one, anyway i would love to see you playing a series like we new players will do, so no rush no fast clicking no fast forward, unless you stream somewhere where we can watch live, but youtube videos part 1 2 3 4 5 would be lovely.
Hello guys l have a question. I can't see MIO companies, why? I have the dlc (l have subscription for 3 month) but l can not see MIO at all :( l open the buttons but they are empty :(
If you have a design of a plane, ship or tank, open up the variant menu and look in the bottom left, if the design company icon is there, it's applied. If it's the yellow arrow, you'll need to add it
@@RobinMeineke I meant in the early game you'll need a lot of PP especially. It'll be a tough choice in prioritising whether you wanna buff your equipment or get your advisors early. But it's useful in mid and late games.
