Omg you're a saint. My phone fell out of my pocket and my screen was damaged.It bled like a calculator so I couldn't see anything. I memorized my app menu so I knew where my smart switch app was. I just didn't know the button layout lol. So thanks for the step step tutorial .I thought I was going to lose everything

Wow I have learned a lot I means a lot I am going to tell a lot of people about this.

I have a very interesting question I use one of the operating system gels on my android phones like Samsung because after you install your apps you can restore all of your folders in the exact place that they were on your desktop. Does Samsung have any way to do this for their in TouchWiz operating system. because they don't do that someone I know I always use a secondary operating system from the Play Store because I have tons of shortcuts in folders it takes a long time to put them back. But if you use an operating system from the Play Store you can restore them instantly

couple of quick questions. Great review by the way thanks. If one set up his new phone via Wi-Fi and Google this will be a backup right? Any apps that were installed will get installed the Google did not install in the original installation? Right? No apps can be dual and stoled I wouldn't think. Also nothing gets moved from the SD card on the old phone or to the SD card on the new phone, is that correct? This only applies to things in phone storage. In other words, what I'm saying is that I would probably set up my phone through the Google set up first, then use Smart Switch. Is that a good way to go?

If I buy a new A8 and want everything moving from my old J5, how will I do it as surely I need a SIM card in both and I only have a SIM card in the J5.

so is this best to used when you're going to buy a new phone ? what is this app really for ? Is it like a backup ? Can you control what you transfer over ? could you transfer music or pics to share with some one. So to save data because let's face it most Android don't have a lot of storage available due to the Android apps and apps from your phone provider so to save storage , should you only download this if you want to upgrade a new phone ? or if you share a lot of media to other phones?

Wouldn't i need to activate & set up the new phone to transfer all my data because how would i download smart switch on the new phone. Since I back up on my pc, could i just use a usb cable to transfer from pc to new phone?

This only works from Samsung to Samsung? My Alcatel Pop Astro does not have Smart Switch showing in the Play Store so I can't install it. Are there OS restrictions?
