Hey there! Yes, this crop is a little different than the traditional meaning of crop. Luckily, Silhouette Studio has a great feature that will explain what each function does when you hover your mouse over the button. - TRW Haley

Use the same method but with your picture. Place the picture in the screen. Draw a square on it leaving off the areas you don't want on your picture, then use the modify / crop. -TRW Crystal

The area inside the crop, or outside? -TRW Crystal

Think of it as using the top shape as a cookie cutter. You'll be left with whatever portion of that shape overlaps the bottom shape. And Silhouette will remove both of your original shapes. Hope this explanation helps. -TRW Pilar

Yes, it seems every different type of software I've used, there's a brand new learning curve. You know what? Sometimes I just like to cheat. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you need something cropped, lets say, you have a printed design like snake skin that you adore and want just a square from it. If things get too confusing, just draw the box where you want it and use the knife to cut each side and it'll leave you your box. :-) -TRW Crystal
