So happy this is out... Hitting refresh all day on Just Flight. It's lovely to fly, feels heavy if that makes sense. Thanks for this tutorial, good video.
I've enjoyed it over the last week. I have 15 hours on mine. I am excited for the Turbo Arrow IV to be coming out soon. The Turbo Arrow IV likes to hug the runway after rotation. Hopefully they can duplicate that and it won't spring off the runway. Either way, the job Just Flight has done in the Arrow III is pretty amazing compared to what we have seen from add-on aircraft so far.
@@thecorporatepilotdad I should have realized this was an older video, I've owned these since they were released and some of my favorites! But I've never flown the real thing. Had lessons 30 years ago in a V tailed bonanza
On the iPad. To bring the iPad up click the silver I-com switch on the top right side of the panel. (The switch may be labeled something similar as I’m going off memory). In the middle of the iPad there is a section for the GPS. Click that button on the IPad to scroll through the different avionics setups. That’s how it works on PC.
Not sure if this is a turbo arrow issue, but it uses the exact same autopilot sistem, and its a paind for me to make it follow gps... most of the time when i turn it on, the plane starts to make random turns, but fewer times it simply works. Im very confused with the sistem...
I’ve seen this before. Flight model has to be set to modern. Also, turn the AP off, try switching to a different mode like heading, then put it back in NAV or Omni. I don’t have it in front of me so I’m going off memory. If that doesn’t work try contacting JustFlight. This same thing has happened to me and I’ve always been able to get it to work. Also try switching from GPS to VOR and back on to GPS on the GPS itself. Hope that helps.
@@thecorporatepilotdad thanks a lot for your feedback, really appreciated. Gonna try some of that later today! I've tried some of those but when i succeed, it's more of a random thing..
I know I'm really late to the party for this aircraft, but i just picked it up. Flies a lot like the real thing. I'm wondering how you have a HSI, is that a mod?
On the tablet on the right (it appears and disappears with the icom switch in front of the right seat) there is a button on the main screen for HSI or DG.
@@thecorporatepilotdad ok, I must be missing something or I have the wrong version. I have the JustFlight Piper Arrow iii, not the turbo. When I click the I-Comm nothing happens but just a click. So, I'm lost here
I could have gone deeper but I don't think it was detailed to that level. There is a 30 page manual for this autopilot on the internet. It gets down to some in depth information such as OMNI will correct for x-wind correction up to 15 degrees from the course on the CDI but VOR doesn't have a limit (at least not that I found). I left that out of the video on purpose.
Here you go. I have this set to unlisted. It was done very fast so I may not make it public. Either way, here you go. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mAkCPKAcRiU.html
Not all autopilots in GA airplanes have altitude hold. The developer did add altitude hold after this video. Above the dial to select heading, VOR, LOC, etc. there is a click spot over the word Piper. Clicking Piper toggles altitude hold.
I figured covering the AP would be a welcomed video. I remember the first time I flew an Arrow with this AP and how excited I was just to have an AP in the airplane.
Doesn’t work for me. Won’t track a VOR or gps. Roll knob won’t turn plane. Heading Bug doesn’t change plane’s heading with selector in heading. Won’t ever buy anymore planes from third parties for MSFS2020. Junk.
Same thing is happening with mine, currently on SU14. Didn't used to be an issue on the Just Flight Arrows. I think they need to update their products.
@thecorporatepilotdad, I am devastated, I´m going to uninstall it and load it again. I have bought several things of JUST FLIGHT and always very good. Anyway thank you very much. Sorry for my english
I use the scroll wheel on the mouse to go one degree at a time. If I hold left shift it will go 2degrees at a time. If I spin the mouse wheel repeatedly it will move even faster at maybe 20-30 degrees at a time.
@@thecorporatepilotdad How fast do you spin it for only 1 degree? Every spin it goes 10 degrees for me 🤷♂️ I have my instrument, but when I was still an Instrument student, that was the biggest annoyance for me 😂 (I did my training without GPS or DME (/U) so I flew the 6 pack 172 without using the GPS to practice)
@@colinboone9920 I did my IFR training on steam gauges and GPS free also. I spin it pretty fast. I've never had it go 10 degrees at once. I was thinking about it after my last message. Maybe there is a setting somewhere making it go by 10? Does it still go by 10 if you use the scroll wheel or the left mouse button?
@@colinboone9920 Are you using a Honeycomb product? I just checked the forums and that is one of the devices that causes it to move by 10 degrees. forums.flightsimulator.com/t/c172-heading-bug-10-degree-increments-only/183892/25
Not sure why that is happening and I haven’t flown the Arrow in a while. It is possible something happened after an update to cause the issue. Check for updates on Just Flight’s website. If the problem still happens send them an email.
@@mrmisterno1 if you can move it to a different folder that might help to isolate the problem vs deleting it. I take it that mod just gets dropped in the community folder.
I did see this once and it rolled hard to the right. I don't remember what I did to fix it. Try resetting the flight and make sure roll mode isn't selected.
@@joshmerriman115 I saw something in a forum on this. I hope I am remembering it correctly but I believe this has happened when people select HDG on the console but not the AP ON rocker switch. Try it from left to rigth.. AP ON -> HDG ON -> select Mode. You may be doing that already but just wanted to check.
If the flight plan is in the GPS make sure the CDI button is pressed and GPS is displayed above that button. Then select Omni or VOR mode in the Arrow.
Hi thecorporatepilotdad, I have already solved the problem in the takeoff of my piper, JF recommended me to select the flight mode in MODERN and magic, now it works perfectly. The way is OPTIONS-GENERAL-FLIGHT MODEL-MODERN. Thanks for your interest.
@@thecorporatepilotdad oh same here, its a very well done model; especially in comparison to the Crapenado. I Learned to fly in a Piper but that was about 15 years ago. Honestly came here wondering why my Loc mode was not working but turns out I am not the only one with the issue.
@@TacticalSandals Sometimes I wonder if they did that on purpose to duplicate how bad that AP really is. I doubt it, but that would be funny. I never had much luck with reliability with that AP.
You can. You have to select FLPN then highlight the fix you want the point to go before and then hit the select knob to bring up the cursor. If you want a good and free GPS replacement you can get the Garmin GTN 750. Be sure to read the readme file because there is a folder for each aircraft type that has to be placed in the Community Folder. pms50.com/msfs/?
I honestly do not know what year of Arrow the Just Flight Arrow is based on, but it is the 200 HP version. To my knowledge, almost all Arrows are the same except for some early Arrow I aircraft that only had 180 HP engines.
Do any other airplanes do it? Are the controls deflected to the left on the ground? I'm not sure how to fix it but I'll let you know if I hear anything.
@@thecorporatepilotdad Yeah I've been testing the Turbo Arrow IV for the past 2 hours and It turns out that ONLY HDG Mode works.... none of the others is working. No clue why. It used to work fine before
@@jobravo1205 anytime there is a sim update some components can stop working. Check to see if there is an updated version of the Arrow on JFs website. That could be the culprit.
@@thecorporatepilotdad It could be.... I checked but there isn't yet.... maybe they are working on it. I confirmed that all PA28 versions have this problem at least for me.... only HDG Mode works for the Autopilot
thecorporatepilotdad yes sorry the fps. It’s one of the most important things to use as a benchmark. Many developers destroy aircraft when they build it too dense where frames become and issue rendering the addon unflyable
I lost about 10 frames normally get about 40-70 frames with stock steam gauge planes. 10 less with this bird! Running in 2k everything ultra. Windows 10 nvidia 2080ti with intel i7 6700
@@thecorporatepilotdad on the ground with flaps at first notch the plane will not move. In the air first notch will cause the plane to do flips. Interestingly I have no problems with 2nd and 3rd not flaps
@@alexeybocharnikov6736 I saw a video in the forums of the flipping Arrow with the first notch of flaps. I thought someone said there was a fix for it (as in an updated file).
