Your last 2 steps should be facing right or left depending on if ur left or right handed (right handed go right, left go left.) To make it so your speed from running gets transferred to your jump and swing.
THIS IS INCORRECT! Your arms should start perpendicular to the ground and not all the way forward like that, it's going to ruin your timing on your rear arm swing, which will make you hit on the way down
I somewhat agree with "Ducky Plays," the last two steps should be angled to the right (for a right handed player) to turn the body to the right in order to twist the body through the hit, enabling the hitter to use torque from the twisting of the body, affecting the whip of the hitting arm.
well the last foot should be placed sideways to pivot your whole movement up that way s you are not straight to the ball at the beginning of the attack motion
@@Noininioninooknioni its EXACTLY THE ASPECT thats mentioned here. in indoor, you pivot all the way, in beach youdont pivot and your feet is almost parrellel to net.
I always felt so stupid when doing that to try and help people. I was used as a demonstrator for my club team for the UPPER group the ones that were supposed to be better than my team 🙄
I have a question, I don’t really understand the point of the approach, I get that you need to go up to the net but why not just run and then stop where you want to be then jump it seems like the same thing as taking a certain amount of steps then stopping and jumping.
Im a right handed vball player but i always start my approach to EVERYTHING with my left? My coach says im doing it wrong but all my hits and jump serves and stuff like that are perfect. ?????
@@CJMoo-zm8zw no, you didn't get the point of my comment, kinda my bad. I don't understand why do you have to swing them forward then swing them back and only after that swing them up. That is a lot of useless motion. For some time already I don't do the forward swing and it didn't affect my vertical at all, but helped me hit fast balls better.
I personally do a pendulum armswing because its very similar to a running motion. Moving your arms forward can give you a very strong first step, but most people do it really slow so I don't know why they do it.
Huh!!?? There is no purpose in swinging the arms forward to start your first steps. In many circumstances swinging the arms forward will cause the hitter to be late on their rear arm swing. Many collegiate coaches have eliminated any forward arm swing. If you continue teaching/coaching, you may want to reevaluate how you teach the approach.
Nah this is actually fax. Not only timing does swinging your arms forward ruin, but your momentum. If you think about it, if the forward arm motion makes you go up, than wouldn’t the backwards one also go up? It’s the same motion. It’ll make you go up too early
