*Let me know if you made it to the end of the video as I’ve left you a few of my ‘signature’ gems! 😉 What’s your favourite part?* This video is a follow up to my video *You’re Washing it Wrong* > ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gV2tmEyoj4s.html I made this video because so many of you asked me for product recommendations for washing the vulva. I devised a classification system to make it easier to explain why I choose certain categories of products. I’ve tried to simplify it as much as possible. I hope you find this educational and valuable as always.
@@janetmccormick9519 that's why I think I'm very blessed I knew things more than one can. Once there was no one and now I have everyone and everywhere to ask anytime and I love Dr simi
Thank you 🙏🏽 I’m 70 years old and learning things I was ignorant about! Oh❤and I so love your sense of humour and your honesty and your beautiful laugh ❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations on hitting a million subscribers. To think there was a time I was worried that the RU-vid algorithm wasn't letting people know about your channel.🎉🎉🎉
👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓 I will say that since my teens, I have always used separate "feminine washes" bc the idea of sharing a soap bar to bathe has always sickened me. Just as I use Feminine Wipes during the day, I will always care for my lady bits as precious baby bits. Thanks for the suggestions!
Just wanted to add to my previous comment that I ordered two of the washes that Dr. Simi recommended and noticed an immediate change (no more itching and no odor) compared to my old scented wash that I used to use. Thank you, Dr. Simi!
I'm so glad RU-vid exists for this reason! I wouldn't know these normally and it's not really something you go to a doctor for. My mum also never talked to me about feminine hygiene so I'm learning so much and I'm 30!! Thank you for the information and your videos ❤️
With what I have learnt so far, I don't think it would be out of place to request a diploma in vulvulogy😃😅 Weldone Dr Simi, you always hit the nail with a touch of humour👍👍👍
I watched this video to see what was being said. When I went through puberty, there wasn’t a whole lot of educational content directed towards girls and more precisely, sexual health for girls. Luckily I have a mom who was always very open about these things and taught me how to wash my vulva properly. “Just water, a simple neutral soap and a gentle washing cloth if you want” is what she always said. To this day, even though I use scented gel washes on the rest of my body sometimes, I avoid using those on the pubic area and use the normal soap that works for me there. I’m happy to see that girls can now search things up like this on the Internet now ❤
Thank you for this video! Plain Dove liquid soap has truly helped a great deal, but I also had to switch to the free and clear laundry detergent, as well as plain dryer balls to replace the fragranced dryer sheets.
I use mild/unscented soaps down there. I love to use Dr. Bronner's unscented baby soap, and this brand called Sure. Sure's soap is also unscented and it keeps you nice and clean. As long as the soap is mild, but preferably unscented I will use it.
Super interesting! I was expecting to hear of some specific feminine washes, but there weren't any. I'm quite curious why things like Lactacyd and similar items marketed as specifically for use on the vulva were not recommended. Is it because they are not good to use? Please help clear this confusion for me Dr Simi!
That is exactly why I came to the comments myself. I have used Vagisil and Summers Eve for years with no problems. The washes, not the douches. I know douching is not necessary and can actually cause problems.
This was amazing! I’ve had such a hard time finding a soap that worked for me. I’m not really sensitive but a lot of fragrances bother my skin. I find dove body wash works best for me.💜💜💜👩🏻🎓
Hi dr Simi. I was thrilled when I saw this video come up but unfortunately none of the liquid formulas or creams you mention seems to be available in the Netherlands (not even the specific Eucerin one you mention.) Would you be so kind as to give some more options? Thank you so much for your work!
Oh my. I was using some Avon intimate wash with fragrance.... Definitely switching to the dove baby head to toe Today!. Better safe than sorry😅. Thank you so much for sharing. 🧑🎓🧑🎓 Your laugh is contagious, love it 😂
Hello! I’m totally new here. I’m 15 years old and sometimes worry if I’m treat my vulva and vagina the right way. I’ve already learned here that you should wash with soap, which I always thought you should never do. And I also have a question: what about underwear? I recently stopped wearing underwear at night, because I saw a few girls recommending this, and actually, it feels really freeing. What about the hygiene? Is it better to wear an underwear? I’m curious. Thanks for the help!❤
Am 33yrs of age, also a mother av not heard of these before because 😢l didn't grow up with my mom, when l think I know 😂 honestly your show proves me wrong Dr Simi ❤it has really helped me a lot, it's saves me the trouble of getting help or finding one thank you so much ❤❤❤
I love the doll demonstrations it is helpful to see the visuals in a less invasive way. Outside of warm water flushes (douche) after menstruation cycles, I never understood why someone would put body soap IN their vagina. I was told that my mother and grandmother used Hexol as a cleanser for that area and even for douching, I looked it up and found that it is actually advertised as one of the common uses. Is this safe? I have only ever used it for cleaning my toilet bowl but then there is the history of Listerine.
@@lastudentessa douche is not good for the vagina, it flushes out the natural and good bacteria which can make a women prone to infection, thus has been said for some time now and the doctor has mentioned this in her “your washing it wrong video “ the vagina is self cleaning douche is not needed
👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓👩🎓 thank you doctor SO MUCH I’m 17 and have terrible dry and itching and it’s been draining to maintain my self with the so little inflammation I have but since I started watching your videos a lot changed 💗💗💗
👩🏾🎓 I learned about emollients and I think I may give the E45 cream a try since I have severe eczema prone dry skin! Thank you so much for your videos!
Aside from showering soap runoff, a warm, water-only rinse on our bidet is all I use before/after intimacy and period issues. So convenient and he uses it too for his foreskin hygiene.
My favourite part is when and why use such and such products to the sensitive areas and wish to watch more informative videos about skin and hair and all types of care for yourself videos
I suffer from incontinence, and a not so good smell 😞😱 down there, and I'm always at the doctor's office with irritation, please can you tell me a good way to keep myself clean down there, yes I do change my pad every time I go to the bathroom.
I have learned so much from your videos I am 75 never been told not to use a washcloth there I guess I have just lucky and not to use scented soaps I will try to find you Again what is the best way to find you on the internet
Loving your uploads as I’m having terrible troubles with my lady parts! I have never suffered with any issues within my 61 years on this earth apart from the last 11 years after I started my menopause. I have had that constant itch that drives me up the bloody walls day in day out. Night time is worse which wakes me up once I get off to sleep which is very rare as since I started the menopause when I hit 50 my sleep disruption is ridiculous! I can gone days without sleep, but I am also dead on my feet but sleep just won’t come. My itch is not internal or even inside the labia but on the outside, and I live on a daily dose of antihistamine and hydrocortisone cream to keep it at bay. Unless you have experienced “the itch” it is hard to describe, it literally drives you mad. You just have to scratch it, it’s so hard to explain. Please help us over 50’s or post menopausal women from going insane and giving us some form of quality of life once our ovaries decide to flee the nest. Many thanks ❤
I have a question since I can’t seem to find the answer to it but I’m very curious about it. Is there a reason why women don’t really bleed when they’re in water? I notice when I take a bath or a shower that I don’t actually bleed until I get out.
Thank you for the video, I appreciate it so much. I've been using my regular shower gel (nivea, dove) for my intimate area. I haven't experienced any inconveniences ever. Would you still recommend using for example Dove baby instead of my regular shower gel? 🤔 Thank you.
Before I come across your videos I was washing wrong I use to thought you have to wash inside my Virginia Your video has helped me so much Thank you very much ❤❤❤
I have had a bad case of thrush and I have become very sore. I have never had it this bad and can't get rid of it. I have always been clean intact one Doctor said I was trying to be too clean. But we have to wash and stay fresh. I have creams from the Doctors they help for a while but if supplies are hard to get through the Chemist then it's difficult to keep going with them. It's good to read and learn from eachother. I now have a cream I insert each night and this helps a bit but then the soreness comes back. If I can get rid of the soreness, I can be fine again and wear dresses again.
I just watched you’re washing it wrong and then I saw this and subscribed. I’m in the USA and was going to ask you to name some products for this region and voila you did. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 👩🏾🎓🎓💜 Blessings to you
A little off topic but I am a little bit concerned. So today I noticed that I was bleeding. Which is weird because that would mean my period came a week early. Looked it up and it said spotting. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I'm not in any pain, still a virgin, 29 years old, not taking the medicine they mentioned. I narrowed it down to three reasons of why I am, hoping, spotting. 1. Stress. 2. Lack of sleep. 3. Hormones. I was wondering if any of you have been spotting around my age.
Unfortunately, living in Italy, the only brands you mentioned that I've heard of and can find here are Aveeno and Dove soap bars. But I wished to know alternatives for sensitive skin.
Thank you! 😊 I’m glad you think so. As always it may take some trial and error before people find the product that best suits them but hopefully the video explains some guiding principles.
@@DrSimiAdedeji I'm so excited and I'm so looking forward to buy them all some of them are not available in my country but the ones I m sure I've a hands on approach thanks simi to show me your products love you
Thanks a lot dear Dr. You've helped me a big deal, I was always getting irritation after my bath, and now I know that I need to change my soap... I'll let you know if there's any change after this..❤❤❤❤
I may try the Eucerin cleanser. I think I vacillate between super sensitive to reactive although I've never had eczema there. None of the traditionally marketed fem. hygiene washes have worked for me (of the ones that I've tried, available here in the states.) I have a question... what do you think of making our own fem. wash using mostly distilled water, with pure aloe water and very little castile soap? I assume the aloe is safe and gentle but I'm not sure about the castile soap. I've seen women share this recipe here on youtube (except they will also add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil which I can't see working for me.) I would love to know what you think. Do you have ideas of a great recipe? Yes I am trying to save money and go as simple as possible. Thank you again! You're a brilliant and kind Dr. and are helping womankind with your informative channel. God bless you! 💛
J&J head to toe body wash is also a non soap cleanser and even though marketed two babies adults can use it is such a big bottle ot lasts soo long lol😊
Every single wash gel i tried gave me BV (i only used it on the outside area) even those that said 0% perfume and harmful chemicals 😢i guess these things are not suitable for some women, shame cuz I really felt cleaner and fresh while i was using it
I'm 31 and still feel clueless about how to properly wash my vulva. You hear about all these products, Summer Eve, Honey Pot, Rose water... all of which seems overwhelming. I was always under the impression that warm water is more than engough. I get nervous at the idea of using soap inside the folds because I fear it will enter my vagina & lead to infection. Is it truly safe to take soap in between your folds & inner lips... soap such as Doves Sensitive unscented soap or does warm water suffice? And is it nessarry to spray Rose Water, use scented wipes or use sented lotions or products on the vulva? I feel like I'm missing something and feel so embarrassed asking fellow girlfriends or my doctor at this age 😔 your insight would mean a lot 🙏🏾 thank you in advance 💜
Thank you for the channel, lots of useful information Could you make a video about extended regimes of taking in oral contraceptives? flexible regimes?
👩🏾🎓 Thanks so much for the information! What do you recommend for hair bumps in that region? I’m scared about experimenting with the serums I use on my face in that area.
I use Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Baby Pure Castile Liquid Soap. What are your thoughts on that? I think I have balanced skin because I don’t get irritated.
I used the Dove for sensitive skin. However, sometimes it doesn’t help bc I sweat a lot down there and have to clean up several times a day. Then it’s like sometimes I will get a BV even when I try to follow all the rules my daughter tells me.
