U may trust that man, But I wouldn't trust that armor with my life, too many gaps & pauldrons & breast plate r hanging on by 2 threads completely exposed putting all the weight on the shoulders & just relying on deception with cloths to hide the fact that there is no armor underneath those areas is not good armor. not to mention 7:31 when he did a move his shoulder armor flipped bk totally exposing his entire arm, shoulder & caller-bone. you may look pretty , but you'r also pretty dead.
But sadly for you, gamer. This is not how samurai wear in that Mongol invasion era. This is the latest armor of samurai. Around 17th century maybe. They use more metal. And that Tsushima invasion is 13th century thing.. Of course the armor n weapon are more weak than this 17th century samurai armor n weapon. Edit: and at that Tsushima Invasion, their sword is not katana though. It was just normal thin sword. Katana not yet invented. But naginata(spear-like weapon but have more blade) and other weapons already invented at that time.
I Decided to be on the Mongolian side cuz i read the real history behind the Ghost of Tsushima, thy r way cooler & thy rekt the samurai so easily & decided to leave cuz thy had naval problems not samurai problems. lol Now thats badass.
Ahh Sanada Yukimura's iconic stag horned armor, a solid choice and always one of my favorites, especially with the rokumonsen crest adorning the visor! Many samurai back then had spectacular armor, I'd love to see a collection of the various styles of make of samurai armor, as they all weren't always just simply plates.
Your traditional armor is perfect guys! I'm from Russia and I love your country for its nature, people, philosophy and great history! I really want to visit Japan one day.
@@cristianeric5933 just like Jin's horse that magically appear everywhere whenever we called for it. I am sure there is always an anxious armour crew waiting whenever we press that option button. "Fuck! What now user? What now? Make up your damn mind!!" Says the armour assistant.
@@Tsukuyomi28 so did i, Watching alot of Anime and Japanese shows and documentaries might do that you, at the start is banter but as the time goes on the fitter explains the functions and military the armours used and such, he explains how to use it
I had a photo shoot with these guys back in 2018. I chose the Kuroda Nagamasa set. They were so friendly and cool, the armour itself was pretty heavy and tight. I honestly don't know how they fought in it back in the day. Really impressive. If you ever get a chance to visit these guys, I highly recommend it. Love from Australia.
I got really captivated by your culture, as a result i started learning japanese, the fact that i can understand a little about what they're saying amazes me
I want all of those! I have always found the armor to be more fascinating than the swords or other weapons are. I rember when I got a change to actually see and hold old armor pieces on an Japanese theme day at my junior high school in the early 1990s, how surprised I was from such things as the weight of the helmet - Kabuto. Japanese look so small but you have to have the neck of an ox to be able to wear it constantly without getting your neck cramped. Modern military helmets, like the one I used when I was in service, are like feathers. I also feel that if the soul of the warrior has to be reperesented by something particular, the armor makes that better than anything else in the Japanese culture. Things like art or ceremonies represent more of the artist or a gentleman in the warrior and weapons represent the fierceness and discipline of the warrior. The armors look fantastic.
If you played Total war: Shogun 2 you know it to be true, Any colors you want, at the time it was possible that is, i have a hard time seeing a Pink Samurai armor from back then, today is possible, just not in Sengoku Jidai
@@JAPANexperience-gk9rq Samurai Armor is way more efficient then western Knight Armor becuse it gives a lot of protection and you don't feel heavy you don't lose much mobility like you can run and charge to battle without looking like a Turtle shell with legs
It's really beautiful just wonder the meaning of different horns on helmets and also meaning of different colors armour and last not the least the Famous katana and wakizashi are one of things I'm most fascinated to luv u
Very beautifull armor, this make me think of a vampire armor !! I'm french and i love your civilisation. Thank you for this video and greeting from france :)
@Duane Dibbley European armor was also colored and painted sometimes, pretty hard to know how often from sample size. But there has been found traces of paint form some armors. Unfortunately because of erosion we don't really see painted armors and plain steel ones are pretty much only thing we see in media and otherwise.
@Duane Dibbley They didn't copy it (most armor stuck with the sandwiched metal concept) but instead they just outright imported them directly. I mean let's be real: European steel by default is pretty good so of course good things is expected. Japanese steel not so much but they made it good. That's exceptional
Thank you for posting this video about samurai armor. I love Japanese history especially The Sengoku Era. I see Sanada and Date clan armor which makes me happy. Do you have any Oda clan armor that will be shown in a future video?
I think Samurai Armor is my favorite armor, second is the Roman Legion Armor, third is Spanish breast plate armor, and the fourth will be the European fullplate armor.
It's wonderful that even though this is for acting in a production, they still give the armor the dignity and honor it deserves. So much noble blood was spilt after all. God Bless Japan.
