This was the most descriptive and easy to understand tutorial on weaving that I have seen, thank you so much for creating this video. It really helped me understand how to weave, plus I really loved your kitten companion. Your tone of voice is very kind and articulate, I really liked listening to your explanation:)
This video is how I learned to weave houndstooth and it was my first attempt at weaving. The way you explained it really helped me and it turned into a beautiful black and green scarf that I am very proud of! Next project will be waffle weave at a much larger scale
I also have an Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom .Really beautiful scarf, thank you for showing.I am just new to weaving and hounds tooth is a favourite pattern of mine.from Ashburton New Zealand where Ashfords started their business .
I've just got my first ever loom, RH from Tabby and Tweed.... Was half expecting a free cat with it, but guess I'll just have to borrow one from a neighbour! Thanks for the video, very clear and concise. The wool kit/pattern that came with my loom is just colour blocks ... But tempted to start with a hounds tooth now .... 😂❤❤❤
Great video. Slow and lots of explanation when appropriate, and fast once you’ve explained it. I didn’t know someone could weave so fast once you were going fast. Please answer the comments. These are some of my questions.
Hi, thankyou so much for sharing this video podcast.. It was very informative and inspirational . Love the close ups, and its all very much appreciated I hope 2024 is a Great Year For you 😊😊 Happy Weaving 🎉🎉 Take care, love and hugs Jen xx (UK)❤❤❤🫂🫂🫂🫂🐈⬛
Absolutely Brilliant! My wife got me a loom last Christmas and until this video I had no idea how to manage 2 shuttles. I have read about it, but I am a visual learner! Thank you SO much! When I get up the nerve to attempt it I will tag you with a photo!
One thing you forgot to mention. Make sure both the loom and the peg are attached to something that WON'T MOVE! The first time I tried warping my RH loom I found out it was slowly creeping across the floor in the process. When I was done one side was longer than the other.😬💕
Just did my second houndstooth and your video was so helpful. I tied in each thread, and although it was a lot of work, I had perfect tension all the way to the end. Your description of how to handle the edges was awesome. Thank you.
Loved it! Breaking it down in small, manageable bits - up close and personal with the great camera work, I totally got how this works. It was a great video from start to finish but I may have to admit that having kitty checking the tension was definitely a highlight. :)
Thank you for the free instruction. I recently started weaving using a cricket 15" heddle loom. I spoke to my son about how he should expect something woven for Christmas and he asked for a houndstooth. I am beyond excited to give it a go and have become so addicted to weaving! thank you for the inspiration!
I enjoyed your video and have gone out a purchased my yarn to make a piece of Houndstooth fabric. I intend to use it for the front pieces of a vest for my husband and use the same dark color to weave a piece for the back of the vest. My yarn choice is Paton Classic Wool DK superwash. I'm a new weaver so here's to hoping this works out well. Thanks for the great video.
Your Baby I knew he /she was going to go for that yarn when you moved it lol but I didn't think threw the weaver lol that was so cute and funny lol lol lol I love it just made my day
haha i love the kitty checking everything out ... i love how you explain what your doing and making it look so easy - ive just ordered my knitters loom so super excited to try out this design - thank you
absolutely beautiful! this was a great tutorial, even for people with a basic understanding of weaving would be able to follow along and pick this pattern up, great job!
Thank you grace for the tip of holding the warp taught over the back of the RH loom. Now here’s a tip for you. When warming up put the warping peg on the left hand side of your window ledge then cut and tie off move said peg to the other side of your window sill and warp the other half. All ends should end up the same length. Give it a go and see what you think 🤔 happy weaving.
I am an absolute beginner and found your tutorial so helpful. Especially winding on without a helper, well, a two legged helper that is. I am bookmarking this for reference! Thank you!!
Enjoyed you tutorial, Grace. Beginner weaver here. I have a knitter's loom by ashford. Will be trying this pattern. Love the Houndstooth design, always have.(Love your kitten.)
Oh Grace, thank you so much for this video. You made it sound so easy I had to jump on my loom and now I have a lovely scarf for my daughter's birthday.
Thanks so much for the best tutorial I've found on the houndstooth, what a beautiful scarf you've woven. I'm a new weaver and warped my 16" ashford for a houndstoorh scarf.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I’m just starting out and the tip of using the rubber bands made learning to warp so much easier. You’re a pro lol!
You lost me at 3:50, my brain couldn't make sense of it 😂 But still a very relaxing video to watch whilst I hand knit! New to your channel and I love it.
This as an awesome tutorial on how to weave Houndstooth! Thank you. But I do have to say I think your kitty stole the show. Lol. I’m just starting weaving and my cat is chasing the yarn and my dog is underfoot! Oh my! You have great patience! 😆
Ahh-mazed!! Never would have thought houndstooth was so easy, thank you 🙏 also, what is it with cats and looms, you would think I’ve laced mine with catnip when I’m warping it. 😺 🧶
Hi Grace, so nice watching this video. You filmed me doing wool combing at the Sydney Guild open day a few years ago now. Always remember your happy chirpy self. Karen Severn.
Really pretty! Also, thank you for explaining how to handle the shuttles. It was so confusing in other videos, over this, then through this....no no no. Your way if far easier to manage. I've already planned my next project, thanks for your help!
My project came out really good! I screwed it up by adding a second set only once then when I finished it, I simply removed the extra set of weft and washed it again. I cannot even tell where the mistake was now. I'm making bread bags out of this fabric. It's just the right weight to keep homemade bread fresh and crunchy for about 5 days. No more mold from plastic bags, no more overnight hard bread! It's perfect! :) And YOU HELPED soooo much!
I also love the simplicity of your step by step. The close up when you were weaving made me wonder where the camera was! Thank you. For fun sometime, I migjy slow the time laps down to see the kitten getting around!
