For those that are finding difficulty of building the habit of calorie counting, try starting with two pieces of fruit per day. Weigh them on your digital kitchen scale, input it into MyFitnessPal, and enjoy! You'll get the hang of it quickly and is a bridge to being able to count all the food that goes into your body.
Why do we promote calorie counting?
For example, let's say you decided you wanted to lose weight by eating "clean" and don't want to bother with counting calories. If your body maintains weight at 2000 calories per day, but you're eating 2500 calories per day of "clean" foods, you would gain weight, no matter how clean the food is.
By simply building the habit to count calories, your food choices become nearly unlimited and you can enjoy food selection and social situations... all while still losing weight.
But we'll let you decide. You can keep guessing if food will help you to your goals or you can know if food will help you to your goals.
