Three things to watch out for at the "all you can eat" places: 1) Time limit. Some places enforce a certain amount of time you can dine there. 2) Charge for leftovers. Some places will actually charge you extra on your bill if you leave a lot of food uneaten after your meal. 3) No takeaway. Pretty usual for any "all you can eat" or buffet, but some people don't realize they will not wrap up anything to go.

Just go in and eat all you want pick anything you want, don't go for the profit or anything just go to fill your stomach happily and it became a win and win situasion for both you and the restaurant owner :D

Other tips: - Corn cheese, its self explanatory but it brings new depths of flavors. I usually put it with my cuts of meat, or just alone as a different angle to my palette. Some Kbbq joints will have it pre melted and it will solidify so its best to use it and finish it asap, as for other joints they may come in cups with the shreds of cheese, just put the entire cup over the grill to let it melt. - Rice/Radish paper, these are thin slices that are usually circular in which you can make little wraps from. The paper will vary from place to place, but through my experience i noticed that rice paper is more flavorless and chewy, while radish paper has a bit of a bite to it with a crunch. Personally I prefer the radish paper cause it brings a different flavor and texture. You can put meat, kimchi, rice or whatever combination you want, it all up to you. - Grill changes, In the video they did have a grill change, but they never explained it. When you cook your meat the grill will gradually start to darken, which is when you should ask for a grill change. A rule I go by is if its black its gotta go back. Switching the grill will allow more of the juices to stay on the meat, and for the meat to not stick as much. Some staff may ask to change your grill while other places depend on you to ask for it. - Brisket vs beef tongue, These cuts of meat are similar, but not the same like the video makes it out to be. Brisket is generally more fattier, and is usually preferred as the first meat to get because it prevents other cuts of meat from sticking to the grill, and is fast to cook. Beef tongue on the other hand is another flavor that you'd have to experience, in my opinion one isn't better than the other, its up to your personal preference. Beef tongue is also a lot more chewy, probably the most chewy out of all the cuts of meat. - Sauces, Certain joints may have different sauces and seasonings on one tray. Some common ones are sesame oil, gochujang, and brisket sauce. Gochujang is a spicy paste that I'd advise not to put to much of since it can be pretty spicy. Brisket sauce is also really good, its a sweet sauce that can go on anything, not just brisket specifically.

I used to eat at Tofu Village in Little Tokyo. I think I put them out of business. I used to eat all the meat that I could first. When I started getting full, then I went for the vegetables. That was my plan eating at an all-you-can-eat place. Meat, meat, meat, then veggies.

The reason why - to answer the question posed by the host - that Korean barbecue establishments can afford to do an all you can eat food service is because MOST people can't consume the quantity of meat, to where it exceeds the cost that the restaurant has to pay to provide that meat. Meat - with its rich combination of fat and protein - is the most satiating substance, per ounce, in comparison to all other food substances of an equal weight. So most people rarely exceed the quantity of meat that would exceed the $25.00 that they get charged.

You would have to eat 5-6+lbs of meat and they would still probably break even, most people can't eat more than 2-3lb, even less if its fatty.

Andrew Kim, yes starchy foods are filling, but the satiety that most people feel on those substances are fleeting. Hence, this is why you have the Chinese restaurant phenomenon, where people eat a ton of fried rice, and then 2 hours later, they feel hungry again. While starch can be filling in the short term, eating meat with lots of fiber rich vegetables tends to sustain a person for longer. I find that this is my experience. I am able to go on fasts for longer, when I eat the latter combination.

Most times I wanna enjoy my food and eat meat and rice and the delicious sides. What's the point of eating if all you're doing is shoving down hella meat just so you can "win" and beat the restaurant? Reminds me of people who live such long lives without really living a day at all 😂

Not into the most meat is the best mentality. I realize you get more "bang for the buck" by eating most meat, but it might not give you the best experience. My take on it is that I'm paying for the experience when I'm going out to eat, and that means I'll eat the way that'll make me most happy. I'll take that rice and the noodles if it's what I want at the moment, and not forego it for the pure goal of eating most meat. Though I'll probably only have a bite or two of the noodle and the rice, because Korean BBQ.

Especially when you implement the "sunk cost" mentality. You've already entered the restaurant and are going to pay for your meal, shouldn't force yourself to eat in a way that is less enjoyable. Everyone gets pleasure from different things, and you share the experience mindset!

No mention of pork belly? Come on, Matt. Here's my strat: 1st and 2nd rounds - brisket/pork belly (DRY STUFF ONLY because then you don't need to replace the grill 3rd round - other stuff like beef tongue/belly but don't overcook them or it just won't be good whatsoever 4th round - sirloin or steak cuts like the ribeye you mentioned...I feel that's usually not offered at AYCE joints 5th round - marinated kal bi (I'm still baffled you didn't mention how grills will need to be changed constantly and you'll wait longer if you get marinated stuff too early) 6th round - whatever else anyone wants to try (the weird/random round) like pork cheek, octopus, and intestine even 7th round and beyond - back to brisket, etc (or just get brisket whenever due to how quick it is to cook) Also no mention of sesame oil and salt / rice paper / other sauces? Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnn haha

we definitely ate pork belly, it just got cut from the edit. I could've kept going, they had tons of meats...just had to condense it. I mentioned dukbossam too and dips, but we've done a lot of KBBQ videos. This one was the AYCE edition.

A big tip is do not eat a lot of marinated meats. They’re just filled with sugars and carbs. Combine that with rice, radish, etc. you’ll tap out after 2-3 plates of food.

In Sydney there is a really popular all you can eat Korean BBQ place and it's $30. It's all Australian beef and it's extremely good. I think it's worth the price

Just had all you can eat Korwan BBQ yesterday for the first time. I had Korean BBQ before but not all you can eat. I kind of realized there has to be a strategy to get your moneys worth. Mine was $25.99 per person.

The thin sliced meat is chadolbagi; chadolbaegi is a common misspelling/mispronunciation (even in Korea). The L.A. Stands for "lateral axis", not "lateral access".

There really wasn't any useful information and he didn't even talk about order of meats other than starting off with the tongue. The goal is not to beat system and swallow meat as much as you can but enjoy the bbq experience. I like to eat meat with rice. wash my mouth with good noodle and soybean stew. also Make perfect Sssam.

The idea of "all you can eat" is an American one born out of capitalism. From that point of view you could argue that stuffing yourself till you cannot move of whatever you like is the point. One of the reasons I don't frequent AYCE places.

AYCE is usually not a good value. Plus it can be slightly stressful depending on the place and the staff.

All you can eat KBBQ here in Korea is like 10$ it's only expensive if you go to the fancy places. The chain 'Meat-ing' is 14k Won per person

I went to all you can eat Korean BBQ before, they gave so many side dishes (larger portion than this video) and I finished them before I pick meats. Is it ok to not eat the side dishes? Will they charge me for the food wastage? Damn bloody the side dishes filled my 1/2 stomach already.

Well it's a Korean tradition to have the side dishes but you can eat some of them but idk. I would say you wouldn't have to pay for it because its complementary to the bbq. So you're not paying the side dishes but the main stuff needs to be eaten.

My teenage brother and 10 of his guy friends went to this all-you-can-eat bbq in California. They ate so so much that the owner decided to turn off the lights only where they were sitting. It was bad but they had a great laugh. Only Asian restaurants would do something like that.

Wow I usually spend 80 bucks on myself at a wood burning Korean BBQ that I go to. I need to find an all-you-can-eat place.

If you are going to spend money going out to eat, it shouldn’t be about getting the most bang for your buck, there is a reason you are going out to eat, and it isn’t to win at kbbq and eat so much meat that you feel gluttonous for the next four days, it’s to enjoy the experience, talk with friends, and have some damn good food. That alone should be worth the amount of money that you are spending to go out to eat. The best meals are not the best because you eat the most food, the best meals are the best because you have the best time and have the best conversations with good people ;) (I’m not saying that food and value isn’t a factor when going to these sorts of places, but it definitely shouldn’t be your biggest concern)
