Translating a thing about experimental archeology and this helped me understand what the hell they did. Good job, thanks

Thanks for sharing your technique! I've been thinking about trying to inlay copper wire as the veins in leaves, so my stock will be thinner. I guess the principle is the same, just use a thinner chisel.

Thank you ,Nice job. I know you used grinder for fast demonstration. Using orbitsander with higher grit it may give a wonderful result. I sanded I knife using Angle grinder 150grit Then orbitsander 250,500,600grit Then manually sanding paper1000,2000grit It becomes near to mirror look

I always wanted to make some inlay things, But I ended with ugly results 🙈 Maybe I need more practicing. Years ago I made some deep engraving using electrical etching. I'm thinking if I used electrical etching instead if chisels and hammer engraving, is it gonna be ok? If you are interested to try it, you may make a video about it.

I never thought of that but I would see a problem, I don’t think you can got 2mm deep into steel evenly with etching and when you get the hang of engraving it’s pretty fast.

Great video thanks! I want to do this in a knife but should I harden the blade with or without the copper inside?

I thought when you heat it up and let it cool it would be annealing butbif you quench it by rapid cooling doesn't that harden the metal? That's what i always thought but you did the opposite when you were annealing the wire and dipped it to cool. Did i have it backwards this whole time?

All depends on the metal/alloy. Heating and rapidly quenching steel causes it to harden, the opposite is true of copper.

Всё хорошо , но лучше канавку делать не за один заход , а за два или три 👍

Thank you, I will try that because I was wondering how I could bring out contrast.
