I'd Like to see a version where the plug is on the downward facing side of the box with just the metter on the front and power cable comes out the top side.

Youve convinced me. Just placed an Order for 1 of the green ones =) Ive gotten other ones on ebay in the past but those just seem not very high quality and the LCD display doesn't always fit properly.
If you want to add more security and strength to most connections, use some ferrule crimping connectors on the solid-core wires, just make sure you are using the ones rated for your max amperage. I'm worrying a lot about your green wire my brother :/
Hey, if I wanted to install this on the high output wires of my inverter couldn’t I just install it inline closer to the inverter and wrap the two small wires around the hot lines somewhere between the inverter terminals and the receptacle instead of twisting them up and connecting at the receptacle the way you did?
I thought the wire to meter had to be the same gauge as the source wire? 240 = 10 guage? Could be wrong, how I did mine.. Do you have a source of reference for upcoming boxes I make? Would be a lot easier using a smaller gauge.. Thanks in advance
I have wires all of my meter boxes like this and I have zero issues with all 4. They don’t pull much constant power so IMO that thin 18-16 gauge wire is fine for them. Again I haven’t had any issues
@@ChumpChangeXD Thanks man, when I made mine, I referenced an older tut on RU-vid.. They mentioned that the wire should be able to handle the draw just incase. It’s a pain with 10 guage!!! Ha! May try it your way next!! Thanks again!
@@DA-ms2hm oh good point,, I hadn't thought about that. Normal electrical boxes mount the outlet to the box then the plate to the outlets. Hmm. I can't claim my solution is any better though. Just ran a 2-gang plastic 1" pvc conduit box with no faceplate and held the meter in with electrical tape...
