Does the c5 have ability to control a single wheel? How if the pump circuits are front/rear? Thinking id like to use c5 hydractive parts on a hotrod, but need to find a way to control height at each corner.

hi there, sadly not, the pump has 2 outputs, the reason for this is down to cost, the system was designed for either comfort mode or sports mode, which uses a 2 sensors on the anti roll bar, "1 sensor per axle" if you wanted to operate each side inderpendantly then you could use 2 pumps but then would need to find away on sensors etc

Hi, did you have any process on manually controlling the height without the suspension ECU? Or did I miss the conclusion video?

Hi! Do you have any ideea what pressure can they take? I have an MG F that uses hydro+air suspension and i would like to install one the adjust the height on the fly. I nees 400psi/27bar. Thanks!

But the thing is that MGf suspenssion is using a water based fluid...

Really nice tidy workshop.. We're using this pump and Citroën system for our off road racing trailer.. Really interested in your work your doing.. Great channel..

Is it possible to swap this whole unit with another second hand one? Will the ECU be fussy that it’s talking to a different circuit board within this pump assembly? Mine is blowing those 40A fuses and I have taken one from a wreck. Thanks for your expertise.

Hi. I have a Citroen C5 II of 2005, HDI 2.0. I very much love it (I also had a Citroen GS) and particularly the hydropneumatic suspension (what a shame that the PSA Group cancelled it). The only 2 things I think it could improve it are: 1) The lack of lubricity of the LDS liquid even from new, which produces the pump to spin increasingly slower (which results in slower height corrections and may end melting the 50A fuse or the pump itself). And 2) That sometimes the front suspension tries to correct the height continuously. This is obvious in stops with the engine running at idle but it also happens many times while driving although it's much less noticeable because the movements and noises of the car. To solve the LDS lubricity problem, I have added to the LDS deposit like 2 or 3 spoons of micronized PTFE powder (particles from 1 to 6 microns) premixed in a small quantity of new LDS liquid. The difference it's amazing on the behavior of the suspension system at a whole. The suspension pump now spins much faster and much more silent and the car gets the height correction quickly. The suspension cylinders have much less friction now, so the car it's much more comfortable. The Teflon not only has very low friction coefficient but it's one of the most chemically inert substances so it's a very good additive for this purpose and harms nothing into the system. It already have passed two years since I added it to the suspension circuit and so far so good. I thought the lack of lubricity of the LDS it was the cause for the second problem, but the front suspension continues to correct the height way too often. Many times it seems it even can't be still but continuously going up and down about an inch or so. It does not happen with the rear suspension (which by design corrects its height much slower than the front suspension). So most likely this problem it's caused not because the front height sensor it's dirty or malfunctioning but because the front suspension corrects its height too fast (design mistake?), hence the inertia makes the front suspension to go pass the correct height up and also down, so the car tries again and again to get the right height, sometimes in an annoying endless way. I have thought that to slow down the flow of LDS going through the pipe from the suspension pump to the front suspension cylinders (to correct the height slower like the rear suspension does), it may solve this problem (and so to save unnecessary operation of the suspension pump). The question I have now it's how to do it? I have purchased a few M1.6 and M2 washers to put it in the pipe just in the connection with the bypass for the two front cylinders of suspension or just where the pipe connects to each cylinder. I'm afraid that this may lead to LDS leaks, though. So, do you have some idea for this? Perhaps, some needle valve inserted in the front suspension pipe? Thank you.

If you add too much oil, what happens? My fuse A40 breaks. The car down when it should come up goes A40.. Is it a pump or other problems?

O fusível de 40a está diretamente ligado à bomba, nesse caso, quando ele quebra, tudo indica que há um problema na bomba. Não deixe mui tempo para resolver isso, caso contrário, uma hora queimará a bomba

Do you have the pin outs for the Circuit board through the black connector , Hannah ? I've seen the BX equivalent online, but I think they are different.

How about a pump strip down and rebuild ? The electric motors usually fail on these pumps , so a fix it Video would be great .

Hannah, does the BHI ECU actually receive CAN BUS packets, do you think ?
@LordDevereux
@LordDevereux 2 года назад
It does, in order to receive button presses from the height buttons inside the cabin, power status, door opening trigger etc. It also sends various status information back. On the C6 or C5 with AMVAR it gets height information from the CSS ECU instead of reading the sensors directly.
@jackspratt4343
@jackspratt4343 2 года назад
@@LordDevereux That's interesting. I don't think that my 2002 C5 has AMVAR. The BHI ECU on my C5, reads the two anti-roll bar height sensors directly, I believe. The Console UP / Down buttons are processed via the BHI I think. I'd imagine these button presses would result in CAN BUS packets being sent / received etc. The anti-roll bar self levelling sensors wouldn't need to operate via CAN BAN if they are talking striaght into the BHI ECU. Just guessing. Would be interesting to put a CAN BUS packet sniffer on the car, and see what happens if a console UP /DOWN button is pressed or the self levelling kicks in via the potentiometers on the ant-roll bars.
@thec5nut
@thec5nut 2 года назад
the c5 needs the sensors as the car needs to know where the suspension is within its limits, @LordDevereux is right to a cirtan point, the c5 needs the sensors in order to function correctly,
@thec5nut
@thec5nut 2 года назад
you are right to some degree, the c5 needs to read the sensors in order to place the suspenion on high or low, the best thing to do is if you put the steering on hard right or left, and then lock the car, after 10 mins, you will see the car move up and down for a few mins where it trys to settle in the right spot,
