The gym used to be my happy place, a time to block out the noise and have some alone time. With COVID-19, everyone quarantined, and all the gyms being closed, I've had to get creative for my workouts. My kids are ALWAYS home and working out without interruptions has pretty much been impossible. I resisted for awhile and then just realized I needed to embrace this time with my kids. We've had several great workouts together and we've gotten into a pretty good routine. They know they can workout with me and for however long they want, or they can play and let me do my thing. Before you start, have sidewalk chalk, bikes, drinks and anything else you know they're gonna want!
This workout is hard so don't be upset if your kids are coming and going, that's how it should be!! We've had a ton of fun together and I'm living proof that working out with kids can actually be super fun and a great way to spend quality time together.
For our workout we did 2 different circuits and then we repeated them twice!
Circuit 1:
- 25 jumping jacks
- run to a tree and back
- 30 second plank
- jump squats
Circuit 2:
- mountain climbers
- running stairs
- walking lunges
- burpees
REPEAT!!!
