To a hammer, everything looks like a nail. They are called "lawmakers" for a reason, we need to elect some people who run on removing some of the stupid laws that are on the books.
The answer to your question is; We have The Constitution. No government official, no Judge, no Supreme Court, no senator, No President, no one can make a law or pass a law that violates The Constitution. If anyone makes a law or passes that violates The Constitution, that law becomes invalid.
WHY DOES THE GOP ALWAYS BRING THIS UP WHEN THEY DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OF EITHER THE HOUSE, THE SENATE OR THE WHITE HOUSE, WHEN THE GOP DID HAVE ALL THREE THEY SAT ON THEIR HANDS AND DID NOTHING, THANKS TO FORMER SPEAKER RYAN !!!
News flash. Neither party is there for us. They’re all about power, control and self service. I don’t believe any of them concerning anything. Take care of yourself the best that you can. Nobody else will.
I served in the military from 1971 to 1995. Going back to the Revolutionary War, I know of 21 family members that served in the military. There are three statements that I share: It is immoral to hire someone to protect yourself if you are not willing to protect yourself, be it armed guards, police or military. Having hired them it is immoral not to support them. If a person doesn’t have something to die for, he doesn’t have anything to live for. The difference between a slave and a free man is that a slave doesn’t see death as an option.
Former Infantryman here, with fourteen ancestors that fought the Revolution, two of which also fought the War of 1812, and one that fought the French and Indian War as well. Also, I am descended from John Hart, one of the New Jersey delegates that signed the Declaration of Independence. I can't count how many people on either side of my family that have served in some capacity going back to the Plymouth and Jamestown Colonies. My brother, myself, and one sister have served in the Army, and another sister is currently serving in the Air Force. And that's not counting cousins, or their children, or uncles. While national reciprocity would be nice, a national acceptance of the 2nd Amendment as the only permission slip you need, is what is mandated.
Just my opinion, Cronyn is a rino. He plays the game to keep his set at the table. We need to vet our vote choices better, research what they have voted for and against. Don’t just believe what they say to be true. That goes for both sides of the table. Once you give orders I believe it’s hard to go back to taking orders. If our representatives were there to really help Americans and make our country work for the betterment of the country why are we in the shape we are in? I’m old now, so I can tell you that most Americans have worked their whole lives very hard. Our country has taxed everything they can and then keep raising those taxes. But still we are trillions in debt. But we keep sending money all over the world. I’ve said for years that America can not be the worlds police, now I say, America can not keep giving away money it don’t have. It’s like when you fly they tell you to put your mask on first before you help someone else or you will die for lack of oxygen. Use your head for once people, stop and take a hard look at things. The government says a 16 year old can drive a car, a car can be a deadly Machine. And I’ve known some 30 year olds that should only have a learners permit. But, no one thinks about that. But the government tells you what you can have and have not and what you must do and do not, and now wants to defund the people that protect us. Criminals do not care about the law, they will have guns and kill you. But the law abiding citizens, they will “LAW” the people to death if we do not give up our GOD given rights to protect ones self and our family and just as important, our Freedoms. And yes I know I’m on the soap box, but if you agree, then take me down and take my place. I need a nap!
Vermont constitution, Chapter 1, Article 16 That the people have a right to bear arms for the defence of themselves and the State--and as standing armies in time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be kept up; and that the military should be kept under strict subordination to and governed by the civil power.
Tell us how it works out the next time your mom, daughter or sisters boyfriend/spouse etc. is an imminent threat and allowed to keep their guns when almost 70% of all those situations when the attacker owns guns ends very badly. I know, you'll take care of it first, right? Right? Anyone against red flag laws used correctly shouldn't be representing the intelligent, common sense part of the gun community.
@@dazzling3237 the only intelligent thing you have going is putting on this act like you're pro second amendment when in reality, you're just a commie gun grabbing fudd.
@@dazzling3237 tell us your it works out the next time your mom, daughter, or sister's spouse is an imminent threat and he's allowed to go anonymously red flag her and make sure the government makes her defenseless so that he can go kill her without worrying about her fighting back. 99% of those cases end very badly for unarmed victims. A determined criminal will still get a gun.
@@dazzling3237 by the way, what happened to due process? What happened to illegal searches and seizures? Anyone can make a false claim anonymously, get your guns seized and destroyed, and possibly get you killed by the police in the process.
From someone who has carried special tools for over 35 years, I greatly appreciate being insured and have people working hard protecting our rights. Thank you
When I carry, my wife asks me, "What do you think will happen where you will need a gun?" I tell her, "If I thought something would happen where I needed to use my weapon, I would stay home. Since things happen that I don't expect, I carry."
As a Oklahoman, In my own opinion, I believe Texas, Oklahoma, and other States that wish to protect the American People's right to defend our self that should form our own Nation. Times have changed in the last 150 year's that some States and Federal Government has gone to far with the horseshit hypocrisy with our rights.
0:57 Rights are not something that can be expanded or shrunk, they are inherent. They are not granted or revoked at the whim of politicians, though the recognition of them often is.
We don’t need to defund the police, they need to be held accountable when they decide to act as judge, jury, and executioner. People need to arm themselves against any non-avoidable threat. If someone called the police on you for a non-violent offense and you’re unarmed while 2 cops are pointing their guns at you while you’re suffering from a panic attack. That’s an immediate threat.
Should simply be an endorsement on your ID or drivers license: Motorcycle Car CDL A/B CCW Fishing Hunting Etc.. Comes up for renewal on one of your birthdays and you either let the subscription continue another few years or cancel the endorsement. Sounds easy enough. 👍🏽
Thank you, Senator…and Thank You, USCCA! I unfortunately live in the State of New York, where I can not even join organizations of my choice, like the USCCA! The threat to our rights is very real, folks!
Like your drivers license .Get insurance just in case . I have it from USCCA . 4 yrs. I have paid high driving ins. for a long time. just in case. Maybe some day uscca will give discount to long term members.
The real question is why don't all 50 states recognize our right to keep and bear arms. We don't need a national CC law, we simply need to recognize what the Constitution already says.
I'm really beginning to dislike the terms "legal" and lawful", the terms should be replaced with "responsible". Police brutality is legal, the forcible relocation of Native Americans were legal, the Holocausts was legal, the internment of Americans of Asian decent was legal. If legal is used to determine right and wrong we are going to be very disappointed
I just got my C&C a few months ago after a 9 month wait. Judge asked me why I felt I needed a C&C. I had to tell her an instance of where I thought having a gun would have helped me. I’m 44 years old clean record and still only got a provisional C&C. But my step son (24 with a 1 minor issue living in same house) got a different judge and got full C&C. What is this?
***Well, this isn't legal advice*** But I think there is already a federal transport law. Look it up. I think any legal, unloaded, properly stowed (locked up) firearm can be transported across State lines already.
I haven’t read the bill but I do support the notion, and I’m a CC permittee in SC. Senator Cornyn speaks out of both sides of his mouth when he on the one hand supposedly supports all Americans who are “law abiding,” yet condemns Americans who use “acts of civil disobedience.” In a country that would remain free, acts of civil disobedience are absolutely as required as the right to responsible self and community protection with a firearm.
@@mikemerrill175 It's a serious lapse in judgment to be making people think that Cornyn is pro-2A. That is not what you want in a group that you are paying to protect your 2A rights.
@@mikemerrill175 I don't have an alternative. I hope my comment or others will be seen by someone at USCCA and they'll realize their mistake. Maybe, since you are a valuable member, you will politely let them know your thoughts, too. Thankfully, we don't have to go back to a time when our organizations work against us for decades on end, if we keep vigilant.
@@mikemerrill175 I gave some ideas for action, not giving up. I don't have an alternative organization to recommend and I can't tell if USCCA is just mistaken this once or if they're really working to violate the 2A alongside Cornyn. It would be nice if they let us all know.
Cornyn is no friend of our rights. I've been here in Texas trying to get rid of him for many years. The RNC and corporate cronies build him a campaign and war chest that keeps him in office. Whatch his actions rather than his words and theater of proposed bills he times to fail but get cred. Red flag Cornyn needs to go.
@@mikemerrill175 we had a good man in the last primary named Dwayne Stovall. But outsiders rarely can topple the party and monied interests of swamp incumbents.

I’m not as concerned with reciprocity as I am with being able to conceal carry without a permit. What’s up with that? If it’s supposedly illegal to make someone get a permit to carry concealed, according to the 2nd, should we just do it and if ever it comes up, have our 2nd amendment day in court?
Does the constitution say that you have to be a “law abiding citizen” to own a firearm? It does not specify any category I know of. Therein lies the problem. What seemingly is a harmless statement to make, opens all sorts of doors.
I thought that we were the 🇺🇸. The first word being united. To me that means togetherness. If your criminal record is good enough to purchase a firearm in your home town. You should be able to protect yourself and your family anywhere in the 🇺🇸.
While doing a PCS move while in the US army I was pulled over for a bumper sticker. The statey informed me it was illegal in that state to carry concealed weapons or transport guns through their state. My pickup was not registered in that state and it wasn't registered in the state I had been assigned in. Knowing what my bumper snicker was, I began explaining to the officer that I am a recovering alcoholic. As we got to the back of my pickup he read; " Insured by Smith and Wilson". I explained that they are the co-founders of AA. He realized his mistake, Thanked me for my service and let me go. As I got back into my pickup he drove away and I checked my POWs/Privately Owned Weapons. Call me wrong, but 30 years later I still carry everywhere and they'll have to kill me to take my guns. I am a 2A advocate and I don't abide by any other BS " laws" pertaining to my gun rights. I am a disabled US Army combat veteran and I am an AMERICAN. AMERICA, you are in my prayers Hoka Hey
Reciprocity should be tied to the Federal Highway funding just like they tied alcohol purchases 21 and older limits to funding. The drinking age used to vary until the govt. extorted all the states with 21 or no money.
@@Kingzall I live a full life and it doesn't revolve around any of those buildings you mentioned. I spend my hard earned money in places that support the Constitution of America and places that don't will never get my money willingly.
2A is a RIGHT, its should not be infringed, abbreviated, or removed. The only possible time rights can be ignored is if they have already committed a SERIOUS crime.
We need stronger politicians to step up for our constitutional rights you should be able to cross state lines and still be able to carry a firearm without becoming a felon.
I am a first time ccw permit holder and going to by a gun and trying to figure out the 1 for me and I am reading all the laws I am going to join the uscca I do my research on everything about that and the uscca and I am learning a lot
I want what the criminals have and more! Also if a felony charge has nothing to do with a firearm or assult or theft etc.. one should not lose a constitutional right! Young people make mistakes as well as adults.. perfect example people who are charged with stealing via false information don't lose their right to free speech!
Unfortunately, it is for reasons beyond our control, Bob. We are still working on a New York-friendly solution that will allow us to provide memberships there again. It is currently up to your State Representatives.
Something like this would never pass. It's much better to focus on a bill that would require states to provide non-resident concealed carry licenses to anyone out of state who would meet their standards. Obviously, bs standards like NJ or CA style (demonstrate need to carry) would have to be eliminated. You just can't force all states to stand behind one national reciprocity bill the same way you can't force universal background checks. Politicians don't know how to solve problems.
Let’s just take care of each other Includes those new gun owners to take care of their families and protect the Constitution and the bill of rights which seem to be suggestions these day
I can drive my 5,500 pound pickup around pretty much anywhere I the World with my PA drivers license! But I Can Not carry a Firearm in EVERY State , Even though I have a Concealed Carry Permit From my State( Common Wealth)! ? Waiting for the Day Gov't gets it's hard to Understand that the " Right To Defend!" Is Everywhere Law Abiding Citizens Go!!
If every state gun law had to meet the standard used to evaluate pro-life laws, they'd all be struck down! When pro-life laws are struck down, the ruling usually uses "undue burden" as the excuse. I've never seen a gun law that doesn't place an undue burden on legal gun owners!
If you already have a state pistol permit and passed all required federal background checks, states should not be allowed to restrict your right to conceal carry and self-defense! This is a natural and federal right, states should not have a say. I agree with all the other posters on this board, Cornyn is blowing smoke, no way he will be able to pass anything during this administration! I appreciate him trying but let's be realistic here!
What does he mean who are you going to call? The Police Very very very rarely are present to stop crime. That why you carry a gun so you don't have to call the police for being a victim. On another note if the car is the extension of one's home, why can't people have guns in their cars?
