Venom was really in Vegeta mode, even said MINE😂

I remember being a kid and getting to the first venom mission and consuming my first civilian, played these missions over and over as a kid, and why Venom is my fav anti hero in the spider verse so to speak

What absolutely HORRIFIED me is how the game puts the shoe on the other foot. Like, imagine you are just TEARING ASS as Venom; breaking backs, faceplanting dudes tossing them over the horizon never to be seen again, GOBBLING up folk willy nilly, one after the other with no discernment, just having an absolute BLAST unleashing this monster upon New York.....then the game flips the script, hands you Peter, and goes: "Had fun being a monster? Ok, now FIGHT that monster, with the handicap that just being NEAR HIM leaves you helpless" ...I beg your pardon? The worst part is: you *personally know* what Venom can do to you, you've seen it.... you've done it. And it's not an easy fight, it's more like you just SURVIVE each encounter. Notice how each time Peter fights Eddie he is either actually at his mercy, or JUST put in enough work to put Eddie down.....but he goes down too. And the REALLY scary thing about fighting Venom as Peter is....he no longer is just a mindless monster. As stated in the video with gameplay and story implementation, you'll notice how when you are playing as Venom, he doesn't say much beyond things relating to feeding. However... that changes when he gets around Spider-Man. As Eddie said, he feels more in control near him....notice when you fight him, he actually starts... SPEAKING. He becomes more...scarily tame. He sounds downright OMINOUS, he goes "Come here, Peter..." and flat out "I'll *KILL* you, Peter! He is saying that to you, he is truly focused solely on YOU, YOU HAVE HIS UNDIVIDED ATTENTION...and each time you fight him, barring the final battle, he ALWAYS goes for the gobble. He doesn't miss a chance if you give him one, and you have to play a SERIOUS game of cat and mouse, hit and run. Being too close leaves you open to headaches so bad, it puts Peter on his knees and Eddie WILL try to consume you... I'd like to disagree with a comment made in the video. Venoms Combat in my personal opinion aged like fine wine

I think it's funny that you get less health from enemies but you get more health by consuming the innocent

fun fact, in ultimate spiderman when you web swing or web zip, your webs will permanently (i think) stay in the open world (maybe till you reload the map in) so line you swing on a building and that web line stays there forever whereas other games would make it fade away

if insomniac dont make a venom dlc for spiderman 2 they are missing the mark

Now that spider man 2 is out who do you think is cooler ultimate venom or spider man 2 venom. I love ultimate venom. Have black suit being man made is so cool.

You can clearly tell you're passionate, and a true gamer. You're so excited about the Venom part. "Ya eat a kid. The game MAKES you eat a kid. That's fucking crazy!" Made me laugh even while sick, then I coughed, but funny is funny. Keep up the good work, Dennis.

Man I just love almost everything about Venom, I’m not talking about the lethal protector, I mean the pure ravenous, brutish and bashful venom. Lethal protector is cool, but feels like Venom is being forced into heroics (imo)

This game was actually my true introduction to venom and to this day I still remember the nightmares he gave me :).

I've been saying this since the game dropped. It's more of a love letter to Venom than anything. I wasn't a fan of the ultimate universe personally, but this definitely helped. Venom and his missions STOLE the show for sure and we haven't seen an amazing adaption of Venom in the games since SM 2000 I would argue... But Web of Shadows sure did try. You even eat the ANNOYING BALLOON boy while cracking thugs backs like Bane getting trigger happy with Batman. This game was insane. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON CARNAGE.

i always thought of the prototype games as the venom games we never got since the things you can do in that game feels like something venom or carnage would do

Great video! Small dumb correction though: You actually can change the time of day as either character by repeatedly pressing switch hero. It will cycle through the different times every time you get back to the character.

I was also tired opening the doors fighting Carnage and Beetle fight with Venom was weird.

I loved this game. I was a bit confused at the end tho. When Venom consumes Carnage and gets the white spider. He says I now have full control. Does that mean he doesn’t need to feed on people to regain health? Or is the mechanic kept after just for gameplay purposes?

They really did make it the best

Wishful thinking, but now that Microsoft owns Activision and their studios I hope this means we’ll see their old Spiderman games ported or remade

Ok, so I had the same level of problem with the L2 R2 mashing sections for a long time. then I learned to ALTERNATE. press one, then the other. don't mash them both at the same time. (saved my fingers by learning that)

I've played this game for a long time and in my mind, this is one of the best Spider-Man games of all time. Playing the Ultimate Spider-Man Video Game led me to collect 16 Comic volumes of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, and I need to collect 6 more comic volumes and 4 more volumes that take place after Ultimatum. I love the Ultimate Universe.

I can excuse the art style, but yeah. Graphics could have been better.

i recently replayed this game and nostalgia aside, its trash. The graphics look ugly for a ps2 game. Freaking God of War and Metal Gear Solid 3 look better.. the combat is trash..The voice acting is horrible. And the bosses are too easy. Thankfully the Arkham games and the 2018 spiderman outsold and saved this genre.....
