While Tigerheart went on to be leader of ShadowClan, all his brother and sister received were botched characters arcs Cat art is by Miss Dako: / miss_dakoart Intro by Lady Luzifer: / @lady_luzifer
I want him to drown doing something heroic. He's always trying to do the right thing but making a major ass of himself. Getting right at the 11th hour to like, save his kids, or undo some of the damage he's done with Riverclan. Idk how that would work in detail. But it feels right. Maybe he pushes frost paw.off some bad ice and goes under with splash tail (or the equivalent in whatever arc the do it in, that's just how I could see it happening in this arc)
I really liked Dawnpelt in AVOS, she has matured, she's a mother and a mate. I don't feel like it's ruining her character, just developing :) Also I always felt that it was implied that Dawnpelt blaming Jayfeather was because it she blamed herself, I guess it could have been more on the nose though!
i loved flametail as a protagonist and then the authors just killed him off for practically no reason except a bit of plot convenience, because he didn’t end up even being used to help the three in the end. it went from “yay! new cool protagonist!” to “WHAT THE HECK HE’S DEAD WHY!?” then back to “o cool he is coming back to be useful!” to “nope! just firestar again!”
This is one of my biggest problems with the books. There are hundreds of different characters in this story, but since the books come out so rapidly, the authors don’t take the time to dissect each character. I really liked Flametail and Dawnpelts characters in Omen of the Star, and I couldn’t help but be disappointed by the amount of inconsistencies for their characters. Like com on! Is really that hard to keep the characters you write with consistent arc?!?!
This should have been in the books “JAYFEATHER KILLED MY BROTHER!!” “HE’S F*CK1NG BLIND ARE YOU CALLING FLAMETAIL THAT INCOMPETENT??” *jayfeather storms in* “ARE YOU CALLING mE F*CK1NG INCOMPETENT? I COULD TOTALLY BEAT HIM UP- I COULD BEAT YOU UP!!”
I was always so shocked that Jayfeather didn’t reply with “If I had the power to kill one cat, why would I choose Flametail and not Breezepelt?” I have one OC who, in the beginning of her relationship with one Clanmate, would have HAPPILY admitted to contemplating how she would murder him every time he opened his mouth. Just “why would I kill X when I have a perfectly pathetic, claw-able Graystorm in my own Clan?” I would have loved to see Jayfeather say something similar about Breezepelt in that scene.
The accusation makes me so angry. It makes absolutely no sense. Flametail was doomed from the start, he didn’t need help to drown. Jayfeather had no motive but everyone believes that he had something to do with Flametail dying
i was honestly kinda sad when flametail died, i liked that we got him pov in the book and i started to like him right around the time he died. but i found it weird that flametail was so angry at jayfeather specifically, flametail saw rock, heard rock (all though not clearly), so why be this angry at jayfeather alone? if rock didn't tell jayfeather to let go they might've both died, sure-but let's be honest, if jayfeather was so important to starclan and all that then he wouldn't have died.
Dawnpelt and Flametail were so underrated, and I wish the authors used their potential, instead of just staying with Tigerheart as the main character, so I'm glad this was made. Edit 1: Man-this actually blew up. Can we make it to 100 likes?
Thank you Akira, im so glad I was not the only one who has been feeling that when reading OOTS. It was really weird and inconsistent these characters were written. And it’s kinda a shame because my biggest complaint with that arc is that I find it hard to care about most of the characters as there’s little to no substance at all about the situation. Additionally with so many silent voices it’s hard to feel like there are stakes. With these two characters they could have done it.
I have dawnpelt in my personal top 5 most underutilized characters in the series, I really like her, and there was soo much more they could have done with her.
Akira analyses the book series and characters so well without focusing on one point for too long and without us feeling bored. Personally, I never liked Flametail or Dawnpelt much mostly because Dawnpelt made so many baseless accusations about Jayfeather murdering her brother and because Flametail is really stubborn in star clan. I loved Tawnypelt as a character and I was so disappointed that two of her kits didn't last for that long. Overall great video Akira you're the best!!!
I wish that Dawnpelt was a manipulative, ambitious, sister to Tigerheart who used his feelings for Dovewing and his dark forest meetings to keep him under her thumb so she can become deputy (Tigerheart’s her competition).
When are you going to go over The Ultimate Guide updated version? It’s already out where I am, and I’ve already bought it and read the whole thing. There is some great new art, and some really intriguing new text/mini stories that really have got to be talked about!
God, I remember loving Flametail in his POV chapters. So much so i named one of my first warrior OCs, Flameclaw/Flameheart, after him. (Before I revamped that character entirerly to a new cat named Emberstrike/Emberstar. Digressing though.) Seeing ShadowClan's point of view in the main arc and not a SE was interesting. Then, when he died, I was a bit saddened by it. When the writers changed his character in the last hope, it really made me mad. Just, it seemed uncharacteristic for him to deny help to Jayfeather first as it was hinted at that he saw rock when he was drowning. So why did he have to be the way he was? If they wanted to have him be mad, then make his drowning scene be the end of the chapter, and it starts off with a Jayfeather pov where rock appears for just Jayfeather. That way, Flametail could've mistaken what happened.
Talking about how flametail didn’t trust thunderclan cats: when ivypaw was captured by shadowclan she scared shadowclan kits by hissing at them.Later tawnypelt tells her how sc kits are raised on nursery tales of thunderclan warriors eating kits for fun. This shows that sc makes their cats think that tc cats are untrustworthy and evilish from a young age.Since flametail was also once a kit it makes sense that he doesn’t trust tc. Also ivypool did try to kill him. 😅
Am I the only one who remembered how much of a jerk flametail was? Or how he ALMOST KILLED JAYFEATHER, it’s a shame, the first non tc pov should of been a better charater who deserved it more
I don't mind that he almost killed Jayfeather, if they were to lean into it like an Ashfur situation and made him a villain he would probably be a fan favorite character. The problem is they instead make him regret it within seconds and turn off his personality to move the plot forwards.
@@BrightGuardianAkira honestly? I think my problem is that the fandom never really acknowledges how he acted but you’re honestly right, if he was made more malicious or just straight up evil it would of made me like him a lot more
Because they’ve already ruined Bamblestar and Squirrelflight relationships from the book of Squirrelflight’s Hope and then try to ruin Sliverstream character and now just ruining even more characters.
Definitely want the needle and violet and sleek video Do you think Dawn got any better in the next arc with staying in the clan for her kits when Dark took over?
Wait did you ever make that video on how dawnpelt just turned into a whole different character because i can’t find it I really want to see wdym by that
you should also mention how Sootfur was a missed opertunity he saw Willowpelt his mom get murdered by a badger right in front of him when he was an apprentice yet he gets Brairlight treatment before the actual briarlight and then squilf just sits by and eats popcorn as Sootfur is killed by a badger they could have done so much more eith Sootfur!
6:12 “Freak accidents make our workers appreciate all the times they’re *not* being burned in a grease fire, or mangled in a pizza machine.” If you get this reference, have a cookie 🍪
If you read my other comment you would know but I'll explain again the writing team is sexist bc we barely have any female leaders and look what happened with the situation with dawnpelt and jayfeather the leaders weren't going to do anything about dawnpelt accusations until tigerheart spoke up and defended dawnpelt also alot of female characters get hurt or maimed in the series and have tragic backstories more then male characters do
I'm not sure how many people have realized this but for anyone that's curious, according to the warriors wiki, the new super edition is called "Ivypool's Heart", I haven't seen anyone mention this or show any signs that they are aware, so I just thought I'd put it out there. Apparently, there was a teaser that in Super Edition 18, there will be some cats on a quest, and this book will be the backstory
Always been bitter how they wrote these characters off, they had so much potential and honestly as tiger stars the ll’s siblings, yeah no…. :( I loved Dawnpelt and Flametail too.
The Jayfeather getting accused of murder was totally unnecessary and bad writting. Dawnpelt never even apologize and off-screen doesn't count. And Flametail was ready to let him die even when he knew he one of the cats of the prophecy. No really what was this storyline all about.
I agree it makes zero sense, and the fact that there’s characters who actually believe it is crazier, but mostly for the circumstance of the events, and the fact the Jayfeather also had a threat of death. We can all agree Jayfeather is a very questionable character, and it’s honestly not easy to put murder past him, (in the eyes of outsiders). He’s honestly much worse than hawkheart in this aspect, being described as much more intimidating past oots. the one and only reason he’s semi tolerable is because he is blind. I know it sounds ableist, but it’s true. This could’ve been way more interesting if flame tails death involved some sort of foul play rather than it being a freak accident. The whole idea actually intrigues me, IF ONLY THE ERINS PUT AN ONCE OF TOUGHT INTO IT. It could’ve been necessary to the books if the dark forest was involved, as a plan to take out one of the three. It would’ve made them seem calculative and more dangerous.
Honestly I didn't mind Flametail being killed off, he just.. didn't mean too much for me. They didn't try with him, they didn't try to make him interesting, since the entire time all he was intended to be was a cat to move along the plot. But they gave him such a goddamn inconsistent personality, I really hated how they made him randomly a complete jerk when Jayfeather was in the mud in StarClan. All it did was add a few extra words to the book anyways, he still agreed regardless. And I also wish Tigerheartstar had brought up Flametail a bit more, since he ended up being such an important character. Perhaps when Shadowsight was having visions of drowning, Tigerstar II could've been more concerned specifically because that's how he lost his littermate. But no, come the next arc and Flametail might as well not exist anymore.
BRO SAME i usually skipped his chapters cuz he was kinda boring, but when he was doing stupid accusations like that Jayfeather killed him when he knew he didnt and held a grudge against Lionblaze for Russetfur's death when Lionblaze openly regretted it. And he LITTERALLY ALMOST KILLED JAYFEATHER! I honestly hate him almost as much as Appledusk (i think that was what his name was, Mapleshade's mate. I think she deserved better and dosnt deserve the hate.) and you don't want to know how much I hate Aplledusk. Mapleshade deserved so much better
@@OMGITSPANDA Seriously, it was insanely inconsistent to Flametail and honestly anything he ever said or did just felt like it was for the plot, not because it was something he'd actually say or do.
The only way to fix accusation is to change flametail’s death circumstances. I mean Jayfeather is already extremely questionable sooooo… (you know someone’s a bad person when they’re blind yet they can’t even get murder past them 💀💀💀💀)))) Anyways, if flametails death actually had foul play involved (such as the dark forest) then the whole thing could’ve actually been interesting. They could’ve framed jay as a plan to take out one of three, which would actually make them seem dangerous and calculative. The Erin’s desperately need to rewrite that whole thing if I’m being honest.
