GOD IS THE GENUINE AND SOLE AUTHOR OF THIS BOOK WE CALL THE BIBLE. BECAUSE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS THE END FROM THE BEGINNING COULD HAVE FORETOLD THOSE THINGS THAT CAME TO PASS, EXACTLY AS THE PROPHETS HAD PREDICTED! THE BIBLE’S ITS OWN BEST COMMENTARY!!

Hey @Walter LaHaye, the Bible absolutely is it’s own best commentary. I’ll be discussing the process of inspiration in an upcoming video, but I want to be clear that I affirm the Bible is the word of God. I’m thankful for the prophecies predicting the life of Christ and anticipate those that have yet to be fulfilled. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on the process of inspiration following the next video. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I understand wanting to take that perspective, but arguments from fine tuning make it logical to look for a creator. Beyond that, the life and teachings of Jesus make a compelling case. There are reasonable arguments for the resurrection. Far too much ground to cover for a single comment. Thank you though for taking the time to engage.

@@DigitalTheologian ok, your God character, Yahweh is claimed to exist in the present interacting with people daily. It should be easy to demonstrate this character. How will you do it? All you did was resort to more make-believe. The fine-tuning argument is purely based in imagination because it leads to an imaginary character. Don't even bother talking about Jesus until the Yahweh character is demonstrated to be more than just an imaginary character. You yourself understand Yahweh is only imaginary whether you realize it or not. That is why you resorted to arguments.

If you would like hundreds of accounts of medically documented miracles, please see Craig Keener’s Miracles Today: amzn.to/3slfJND As for fine tuning, the probability that life would spring from nothing within 13.8 billion years and be reproduced, evolved, and sustained given the necessity of temperature, the size of earth, the distance from the sun, the speed of the earth’s rotation, the need for large outer planets to guard against asteroids, water’s numerous unique properties, and any number of other necessary factors is scientifically unreasonable to attribute to randomness. That level of doubt takes too much faith for me. I’d have to do more research to pull up a single source for you beyond a book I read by Eric Metaxas earlier this year. Alister McGrath and Francis Collins are two disciplinary scientists whose arguments would be far more cogent than mine. The historical reality of Jesus (attested outside the New Testament) is the anchor for me. The numerous examples of historic and present phenomena of individuals claiming to have encountered Jesus following his death continue to bear witness to Jesus’ claims. I hope that helps demonstrate that there is more than mere imagination at work. Thank you again for having a civil conversation.

@@DigitalTheologian all that you wrote still just leads to a god character that only exists in imagination. A sentient being named Yahweh in reality in real-time as claimed. Demonstrate exactly that. You already think it interacts with us. Your response is full of arguments and desperation. I think you understand Yahweh is only an imaginary character.

@@DigitalTheologian if you didn't realize already, your claims are the same as saying my perception of reality is completely wrong. As if I don't see something you can't even demonstrate to exist. I find that insulting to my intelligence. Trying to sell me and others a make-believe reality is perceived by me as villainous. No better than an IRS agent with a strong Indian accent.

The Bible was written by men - it might have been better if some women had been involved in it's creation.

Thanks for taking a minute to comment. There are some scholars who make arguments for the book of Hebrews having been written by a woman. 😊 I’m guessing your challenges with Scripture are a little larger than that though. What are your biggest hang ups with the Bible?

@@DigitalTheologian Having recently read the whole thing, I honestly can't find anything good in it. The god of the old testament is an angry dictator who only seems to care about a small group of people, Jesus promises to forgive anything except denying the holy spirit (not a good guide for morality), and Paul promotes the extremely poisonous idea that anyone who disagrees with him is evil. I'm amazed that anyone thinks it could have been written (or inspired) by a god. Still, thank you for your reply and all the best to you.

Hey Dave, I’m sad that was your takeaway from reading the Bible. There have been many atheists who have approached the life of Jesus and found something beautiful. Even the guys from Monty Python found Jesus admirable enough that they chose to make fun of “Brian” rather than Jesus, himself. Given your perspective, thanks for giving a video like mine a few minutes of your time.
