Mental toughness! Great adjustments by Sinner after losing the third set. Sinner is getting better and better on grass courts. Tough matches or sets are good for him.
Wonder why they add the word "highlights" on their videos. Wimbledon should spend some money on a person actually watching and selecting real highlights. No handshake shown in the end and these screens at the end of each set with countless and useless stats (for a highlights video) are very weird video editor choices!
Sinner has a very fast racquet head speed. This is what makes him different from other players. If the opponent cannot solve this problem, everyone who encounters him will be defeated.
Great quality match to start off, and surprisingly strong level from Hanfmann given his ongoing slump in form but he woke up and fired up for this one and why not when playing against Sinner with nothing to lose. I've also found Sinner's weakness or flaw in his strategy. When he's on the run with his forehand, he tends to redirect it back down the line more often than not, especially when he's under pressure on a big point as a default reaction/defence reply shot (but he goes crosscourt when he's loose and freed up to rip winners). That is a problem which opens up the court for his opponent to easily run to that shot and rip the ball crosscourt to his backhand side, and then Sinner has too much ground to cover to his backhand side after using all his weight of shot on his forehand shot down the opponent's backhand line. It cost him endurance in the Alcaraz semifinal match, and especially cost him the 4th set against Alcaraz on set point. With Hanfmann, it got exposed early in the 3rd set and it eventually cost him the 3rd set against Hanfmann on set point. But he freed up in the 4th set and dictated play again which stopped him from employing the dreaded defensive forehand redirect line. He can fix that issue by redirecting crosscourt more and/or redirecting to the middle of the court with mid-length (which is safer as, one, it neutralizes the point to the middle wing of the court, and two, easier to clear the net as the middle part of the net has lower height clearance compared to the net at the tramlines).
Sinner is nearly unstoppable! Hanfmann got him with incredible shot-making in the 3rd, but Sinner recovered very rapidly, and won with confidence!!👏👏💪🧠🎾
the editing and cutting of these highlights are not only so BAD AND UNPROFESIONAL, but totally disrespectful to the players and viewrs. Give the job to someone that knows how to DO IT.
@Wimbledon, stop editing out the handshakes at the end of games from your highlights packages, please. Especially the men's. It's one of the best parts of the game.
Only one thing really didn't go well today (given the pressure, it wasn't an easy match to play, contrary to what many thought): the (too many) slips/falls. However, what's sure is that he had the worst schedule (for a No. 1) in Wimbledon history.
what is it with all these grand slams having 3 minute highlights? showing only two points from the first set? not even including the handshake? all from the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world?
Que velocidad de tiros😮..para los q creían q Nadal jugaba" bien" estos si son golpes agresivos..no las bananas lentas y pesadas q hacen el juego laaargo, aburrido y sobretodo agotador 🥱🥱🥱
