When I was younger I used to be so insecure. I've been hating and damaging my body for so, so long. But then, at the beginning of 2021, I decided to take charge of my own life. In the same period of time I discovered Adriene's channel. Doing yoga with her really changed my life. For the very first I started accepting my body and I learnt how to accommodate its needs. Adriene is an incredibly gorgeous human being. She showed me how to make life easier simply taking time to listen to my body and practicing self-love. She's always smiling, king, gentle and caring. I'm so glad to have the chance to be guided by her in this incredible experience ♡
The way Adriene describes her mentor for the yoga teacher training is the way I view Adriene. I cannot follow other yoga videos on youtube because I simply don't like the teachers, I don't feel like I resonate with them. The way they talk, their voice and the way they teach yoga is just not for me. Big part of why I started practicing at home yoga regularly is because of how Adriene is as a person.
Absolutely. The connection with Adrienne is real. I have felt the energy from the community too although not as ofen. After listening to Adrienne today I realize that's on me & think I'll intentional nuture that realtionship. So much to learn in life & we gain by connection. When the connection is weak the message isn't as vibrant.
Could not have said this better ! This is word for word how I feel I have wanted to do yoga for more than 30 years myself- I found her and she is part of my day every day ( very recent for me but non the less I am committed )
This is a beautiful interview. Adriene is magical. Her style has allowed me to be that 5am early morning yoga person. It has been life changing. Thank you for allowing for the space for her to tell her true story.
This was an absolute joy, my husband (in our late 50's) and I do yoga with Adrian every day, for the last year, my 20 year old kids turned us on to Adrian, I love her genuine charm, love that she is just this regular girl with this beautiful calming voice and beautiful heart. I love her vibe 🙏💜
My daughter started doing yoga with Adrienne while she was doing an internship in Iquitos, Peru. It really help her. We used to joke, and every time there was a problem, we would look for that specific practice, like "yoga for the broken heart" when broken with boy friend. We love you Adrienne!!
So thankful this popped up in my feed. I adore Adriene and do yoga with her every day through her videos. She’s such a light in this world. Thank you so much for sharing this.❤️
This is a very thoughtful conversation. I loved how Light listens and asks really deep and stimulating questions to Adriene. I also appreciate how he summed everything up at the end! :)
Adriene truly is an angel...her videos and smile and sincerity brighten up even the darkest of days! At 52 I've managed a whole year of daily practice through very a challenging time that a lot of women will relate to, wink, wink :D
I loved learning more about Adriene. I’ve been practicing with her for a few years. She’s such an inspiration and such an authentic, bright light! Keep shining bright. Thanks for all you do for all of us!!
This was one of the best interviews I’ve ever heard (and I’ve heard a ton of interviews, so I don’t say this lightly). Thanks a lot for putting this on the internet, Adriene is such an inspiring human and I’m so thankful for all that she has done and share with us! Thank you! 🙏
Gracias Adriene, everyday since the pandemia change my lifestyle, you came to my house in my computer screen and I Love that moment, it is a great experience to start my day, you really are a light in my heart ❤️ and I love Benji🐶
Oh wow I’ve been watching dear Adriene from the beginning when her hair was darker and shorter and her energy wasn’t quite as fluid or confident. She’s grown so much as she’s created this sacred space online. I feel so honored to be part of her community even though I don’t know her personally, yet, I feel like she is a dear friend. She has the most tender heart and kind genuine soul. I just connect with her and love her yoga videos but for me it’s so much more than that, she encourages me to be my best self and have self love and allow myself to be loved and take up space, To honor my experience and my work here! I feel honored to hear her story, I love learning about ones childhood! This is beautiful, thank you. I’d actually love to hear the whole thing. Like her I love being imaginative and feel like her and I would get on really well if and when we meet. I hope to meet Adriene one day! Bless you both for making this 🙏✨💕☮️
Found Adriene 2 years ago and I have absolutely loved her and her yoga videos. She has been inspirational. Its the tone of her voice, her .confidence, her positivity, her strength. I would love to meet her and I’m sure so many others would say the same. It’s on my bucket list..🙏🏼
Agree 100% Adriene is such a great inspirer. The love and effort she puts into everything is phenomenal. Blessed to have the gift of YWA in my daily life, for many years now. Great interview xx
Many people mentioned adverts in you tube. To avoid buy you tube premium-it’s definitely worth it! Authentic the love shines thru, Adrienne is the best yoga teacher, breathing with all right now, Namaste
Love Yoga with Adriene and really enjoyed learning more about your life and yoga journey. Your videos and Breath more recently have been my saving grace since winter set in and I am so grateful. Namaste🙏
This was a really beautiful conversation! I was intrigued but I never expected it to be so touching and inspirational! I have been moved to tears. As a young person following my dreams and constantly sticking with it when it gets hard and harder, I really needed this! Thank you for creating this place of conversation and for giving Adriene so much space to tell her story! Yoga has helped me a lot and this just made my day! *correction it made my year!
Thank you for this touching, heartfelt and deep interview! Adriene is so inspiring and you created an interview atmosphere that allowed to unfold her full being :)
This is such a gem! I really enjoyed this interview. It was so refreshing to hear an artist given so much time to express herself, and your questions were on point. So happy to have discovered your channel!
Thank you for this wonderful interview with Adriene. She is truly inspirational. Discovering her on RU-vid and practising daily yoga with her for the last few months has been life changing. She really does feel like a friend even though we’ve never met!
Loved this! Thank you Adriene for sharing yourself with the world and what you bring to so many loves.and thank you Light Watkins for searching out these amazing souls and bringing us their stories.
I found Adrienne just after Christmas and I joined her 30 day yoga challenge in January. She’s wonderful to listen to, very inspiring and I love her yoga videos. Thoroughly enjoyed this podcast! Loved that she had time to answer her questions without interruption. Great interview 🤗
Wow, I have goosebumps! I just love Adriene. She makes me want to be the best person I can be. She wanted to be a famous actress growing up, and now with her huge growing platform, I can totally see her ending up in Hollywood!
Thank you so much for this interview! Firstly, you 2 are a great pairing -> you know how to ask the right questions and the right time and how to guide the interviewee while letting their voice shine. And she knows how to take your prompts and go off on fascinating stories that really make me feel like I lived her life right alongside her! Secondly, I'm going through something rough right now. And her way of speaking is brings so much peace. I need to surround myself with this kind of voice, so I appreciate a whole 2+ hours of it!
Thank you for your excellent questions to Adriene at exactly the right moments, enabling us to learn about the life and journey of this wonderful teacher. I am sure that your compassion and understanding towards her also enabled Adriene to share her story in the very best way.
Loving Adriene from Hong Kong! She sparked my passion and potential of yoga practice when one day I practised with her watching her 'yoga for beginners'. She was so non-judgmental and embracing ❤❤❤❤ Thanks for sharing ! Namaste
Love from Malaysia. Grateful to have found your RU-vid yoga-with-adriene at recent covid lockdown. Truly appreciate your sincere intention to serve. God bless you Adriene! Hope to meet you in person someday.
My 1st exposure to Light Watkins - won't be my last. Loved the guided converstaion with Adrienne. Not sure what you mean by rate the video.I enjoyed this podcast & it got a thumbs up (seems inadequate, deserves at minimum my two thubs up) . Thank you. Hope Adrienne convinced Mr Watkins to the role reversal. I look forward to listening to Adrienne thoughtfully prompt them & learn about their journey.
I'm listening Midway acknowledging what my grandma did ..worked nights, fantastic cook. Knitted. Sewed.. Just after adriene mentioned Ruby getting dinner ready..I smiled..my grandma's name is Ruby 💜
Agree, I was listening to this to go to sleep but double ads would play for longer than the interview segments between them, so I bailed. I understand that there should be ads but this was over the top compared to any other RU-vid video. That said, great interview.
Theres a trick: when watching on phone, turn off autoplay, go to the end of the video, let it finish and then click on the repeat button - adverts gone
No adverts on the video I listened to. Plus, I am sorry you found the ads distracting when you listened, it's a small price to pay to listen, for free, to such wisdom.
Hi today I started dedicate yoga, would it be possible to get the calendar so I would know the length of time for the yoga classes. I feel so lucky I came across these classes since lockdown. Thank you Adrienne I just love your energy Please keep it up, I and I feel thousands of others appreciate it so much Teresa Lynch Ireland
Thanks for tuning in. 🙏🏾 We're currently on the process of optimizing these ads. But you can head on over to lightwatkins.com/tunnel to listen absolutely ad-free.
I’m not gonna lie, yoga changed my life and “yoga with Adriene” was definitely one of the first channels I had used maybe overused when I first started out yoga. But now looking back I wish their is and was more poc yoga instructors online. I believe Yoga with Adriene gained so much success bc she was/is a white person who had insecurities and showed us that which weirdly made me feel comfortable and relate to her. Although that’s all well and good. There are some things I wish she didn’t do as much. She projects herself on to her viewers ALOT. I think she uses her ability to do yoga to help people when no one asked her to and it’s makes me uncomfortable as a grown woman to see another grown woman think I don’t know things I can’t figure out myself. Bc after years of doing yoga, I stoped worrying if I’m doing it right bc the whole point of yoga is to let go and be yourself in ur body. Which I can see that’s hard for you to do without referring to someone else which in this case is her audience. But then again these are just thoughts. I still watch her videos but I enjoy it less without her talking if I’m being honest. White people project a lot and it’s exhausting to be around especially when I am younger than her and all knowing that I am a fully capable being. It’s like when she doesn’t know that I know I have legs
The videos are mostly directed towards all audiences so it makes sense to speak about the common challenges like pushing oneself into a pose with the incentive to make it look the way it "should", or tension in certain areas that you forgot about while focusing on a specific detail... It happens, and a good teacher should try to avoid people getting hurt. This might be best achieved by helping them tune into their bodies' abilities and letting go - just because you can easily let go, that doesn't mean everybody can.. I hope you will find/ have found a teacher whose style fits you better or who you enjoy listening to more.. And for the white privilege, I don't want to impose my view here, I am white and might be blind to things that you may have been made painfully aware of throughout your life. It's very well possible that as a PoC she would have had many more obstacles to face to become successful. But I think that Adriene really makes the most out of her success by giving SO much to people around the world (for free), and she expands her kindness to all people and addresses & supports important social causes and vulnerable groups of people, and she really doesn't patronise people through her style of instruction?? so I wonder whether our views differ a lot because we come from very different places... I just don't think it is fair to PROJECT everything wrong with global power imbalances and your experience of being talked down to by some or even many white people onto a human being trying and working on making people feel better, making this world a better place, teaching yoga (to those who click on her videos to learn more)... Excuse my English, it's not my native language. Namaste
Feeling sorry for Adrienne. No one can be left alone in America when they are successful. Now she has to avoid backlash and cancel culture. Why couldn’t you just leave her be. No YOU want her on YOUR show. Nice person that she is says yes. Just Leave her alone.
Today's yoga and "certified yoga teacher" is a text book example of cognitive dissonance. So, too are the responces of those suffeting from this delusion.
I love you i had a dog like yours penny killed me when I lost her got 4 little dogs babies anyway I love you text you this morning love you xxxxx 🧘♀️🙏
