@@Autumnnsshe was still making 20 million a year 25 years ago. Now he makes 100 million a year but once you get into that kind of money, i don't think it matters. Poor Beth lol
This is the single greatest tape of everything you can find on RU-vid. It's honest. It's real. It reveals so much about him. He does not have control over her. He calls her and he wants to confront her and he wants to talk to her but he doesn't realize how much she was opening the door for us. There's a moment where Robin is saying nothing. That doesn't happen very often. It's like you're watching something die. And I guess we were. We were listening to their marriage die. She calls him horrible. When you finish listening to this go and listen to the whole breakup saga. He's so fake. He acts so sad and confused. But he had every opportunity to fix his marriage. He didn't want to. He was done. The way he treated Allison that night that got her so angry is exactly who he is. Poor Beth. There are lots of people who like to bash Beth, and she had her eyes open when she got together with him. However it's clear he seduced her and fooled her and she's living a life of misery. Thank God Allison got out.
Yep. Her appraisal of who Howard is at the beginning of the phone call has the ring of truth. And as Howard does with his staff, he tries to make himself out to be the victim.
Good comment. This was very real. It was so clear that Howard wanted exactly what he got: celebrity main stream acceptance, a woman who would do whatever he wanted (I’d love to see the prenup).
This fight was April 1995. Stern had released his book a year-ish prior (Oct 1993), and was working non-stop on scripts + actor auditions immediately thereafter. Film production began in Feb 1996, which is roughly when Howard had the temporary apartment built at Silvercup Studios. This April-95-to-Feb-96 period must have been when Howard "locked himself in the basement office" and started looking for alternate lodging. Howard made a reference to his co-star Mary McCormack "offering him sex to improve their on-screen chemistry," but that reference is almost impossible to find now. Seems clear that the couple were estranged, if not separated, from ~1996 onward.
I prefer Alison to Beth in every way .I liken it to people who get rid of their old Labrador so they can get a new Rottweiler, a decision that can only be made by people who are shallow and self centered .
Wtf are you babbling about. It was a mutual decision. They were married for over 20 years. Not like he dumped her as soon as he got money and fame. I personally like Beth better. She has a great ass😍
Your analogy makes no sense. Labrador because they are loving and caring? Rottweiler aggressive? Beth is a sweet loving person who truly loves. Howard. Ppl get divorced all the time they fall out of love. They are not shallow
Na I wasn’t meaning Beth is a Rottweiler. We inherited our neighbours oldl Lab as they wanted a Rottweiler and I found it quite shallow of them that they discarded a really nice lab they had for about 9 years ,for a new flashy dog .He is as shallow AF ,insecure and only has loyalty to people who he feels enhance his image or people he can use as a crutch to support his insecurity .
@@toolrocks10 "truly loves"? You know this how? Whats more logical. She "truly loves a neurotic, passive aggressive, narcissistic man child OR she is in love with the money and status.
They separated in 1999. Private Parts was released in 1997. They had to stay together to maintain the image in the movie that he would forever be faithful to her. They stayed together for sometime after the movie for DVD/ home release, worldwide distribution and basically until all of that died down. I can imagine they wanted the separation for awhile but just couldn’t do it. Probably made for some real tense moments when they were around each other.
They separated during, possibly even before the movie. Howard moved to the city “so he could film the movie” but they were clearly separated. Alison started dating and that’s why she remarried so quickly. She had already met someone and been in a relationship with them prior to the actual divorce or “legal separation.” Howard is a liar and all about controlling his image. Hence, Beth saying she was his “secret girlfriend” to John popper prior to the separation. Ugh Howard is so cringe.
@@stephtaylor875 I always say Howard was playing a character like Sasha Baron Cohen. He is now who he always was. The politically incorrect and raucous clown was a role and the marriage was as you guys said, maintained for the film and book. The ending of Private Parts really is a joke and mocking our intelligence
@@stephtaylor875 in a weird way, this was the most genuine moment in Howard's life. Because he couldn't control the other people. He couldn't control Allison. He doesn't want those kids. I'm sure he loves them, but he was glad to get away from them. And glad to get away from her. He says it in the clip. He says that she tricked him into having the kids. I know he knows that's not true but there's a part of him that does believe that. He certainly expects Allison and the kids to have their own separate life. And he wants to be able to sleep in his bed. That's crazy talk. And it's so ironic that that internist Dr Drew was so easily duped by Howard. Allison says it. She calls him out for being a narcissist. She doesn't use the word, but she describes him as being self-centered. She says you don't think of anyone else. And then he proves it by what he says in the conversation. How Dr Drew couldn't have seen that Howard completely lied on his narcissist test is beyond me. But this whole experience of their marriage falling apart at the time that the movie was coming out would actually make another great movie. That's a very human story. And many of us have lived through something like that. But now how is life is all a lie. It's almost as if all the truth got beaten out of him from this divorce and he made his mind up that he was never going to be that vulnerable again. He was never going to tell the truth like that again. And he hasn't.
Anything is better than someone who tells you to go sleep in a cot in your own house when you have to be up at 4 a.m. to support her wealthy lifestyle. (Even Ralph would be better than that, he can curl up in a doggy bed over by the closet.)
I grew up on Howard and like his show but ya he is a total narcissist. I remember that dude who was about to jump off a bridge and he demanded to have a press conference about the incident and even started telling everyone he was a hero. His ex wife is spot on here he's very self centered.
The best part is that he knew she'd forgive ALL of the nagging if he just made her laugh at times during it. There's probably a life lesson in there somewhere...just make the effort to make me laugh & I'll forgive you for almost anything.
The relationships in my family with the most longevity: my grandparents, my parents and one of my aunt/uncle pairs. Separate bedrooms, sometimes on separate floors.
My wife rescued a pregnant cat and brought it to beth and then wanted to know how the cat was and beth acted all fake like we hurt the cat or we abandoned the cat just really fake meanwhile my wife has 2 cats and a dog that are treated like royalty- she drove the cat in the middle of the pandemic while every thing was closed and this lady beth says we shouldn’t have abandoned the cat 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@@lxldny I'm so sick of people romanticizing the past like it was all some golden era. And she was cheating on him while married toward the end, so your argument goes down the river even if it weren't a false narrative to begin with.
say what you will, this is simply radio history. Possibly the first time a radio DJ aired out his very personal problems with his wife while several millions listened. Fantastic.
i see this a lot but don't understand it. what's the point in starting sentences with "say what you will" or "say what you want about" ........it never has any relevance to the actual comment you want to make
He is a jerk and has no balls ending it sooner than he did. In fact they never should have had Ashley but he was too much of an asshole to tell Alison he didn’t want to be with her anymore. Howard is a horrible person, always has been.
With what? Not wanting to be bothered when you gotta get up at 4 in the morning?? She lived a privileged life and had anything she wanted!! She was just the typical long island yenta who couldn't keep her trap shut and be thankful for the life his career and hard work afforded her!! A nanny a maid shopping whenever a mansion new car....ya she put up with a lot pfffff
@@Feel_My_Ubiquity which was probably a cheating pad by that point. Sleeping in separate bedrooms during the week would’ve been a better answer…apartment in the city with all of his temptations was guaranteed to lead to cheating. I actually figured he was already cheating when he talked about occasionally using Jackie’s crummy apartment in the city
@@steveknick1978 a man making a lot of money won’t be treated like a “regular” guy for long hence why he hired Marci to be treated more like David Letterman like he always talks about
It's actually very common for disdainful men to openly declare how much his woman hates him. It causes others to assume he's being unfairly treated. The fact is, it's usually that wisdom that "people tell you who they really are." So when I witness a man throw up his hands and declare how much his woman hates or is mad at him, I believe what he is saying that she has REASON to. I don't fall for the reverse psychology like when someone says, "My neck is too long :( " and we go "Aw no, you have a nice neck." That's what he's trying to do, but as they say: BELIEVE a person when they tell who who they are. Men do this a LOT.
Yep. He always has been a horrible human being. He did do good radio years ago. Many years ago. I never really thought of him as a shock jock, more of a reality radio personality
Howard sounds more like his mother than anybody. It's more than how he says things, it's what he talks about, what he decides to say. The whole goofing/bashing Bababooey thing is totally Howard reenacting his childhood with his parents. The way Howard rags on anyone period. Howard basically is his mother lol.
@@averyj.steele1074 No, if Howard was his mother, we would tune out after 5 minutes. Think of him like a blend between both parents, almost like a stew. Like just imagine he shared 50% of their dna each.
I'm familiar w/Beth through animal rescue work. She's exceptionally tenderhearted & selfless. Her & Howard fostered over 1,200 sick/disabled cats bound for Euthanasia after losing their beloved dog. Idk anything about Alison except that she was an aspiring actress, that she had a habit of spending thousands on psychics, & that she declawed... her cats. I hated that he was divorcing Allison for that shiksa. I mean he stopped conversation with her and his kids in a sense. He would go directly to the basement. What kind of marriage is that?! No one is perfect, but damn. She was with him when it was tough in the beginning, stood by him. He just wanted a newer model. Reminds me of George Lopez’s wife. She gives him one of her kidneys and he cheats on her. Sorry but I still can’t stand Beth. I loved the show from the 90’s until Artie left. Then it went downhill. Billy West was the best, then when he left it wasn’t that great and then Artie came on and I was crying from laughing so hard. Now he kisses the asses of those he made fun of before.
The kind where you don't wanna be bothered by the yenta wife!! Jesus the guy just wanted to sleep alone on nights he had to get up at 4 in the morning!! All she had to do was go to another room in the mansion lol He gave his wife and kids a great life and they had anything they wanted and obviously he still wanted her sexually but she would snub him and not show any interest!!
This is the difference between a "podcast" like JRE & the magic of the Stern Show. JRE host shares *nothing* personal, Howard at his best shared it all & laid it all bare. Ironically that's why Rogan stopped doing Stern; Stern shared too much of Joe's personal life & Joe didn't like it.
She knows he's got the money so she does what he wants as it should be. If I'm a billionaire and a woman wants to live that lifestyle with me she's gonna have to do what I want or go down the road
Howard was right about her opening the window for no reason, I’d be a little pissy too, but he definitely handled it wrong and clearly had no qualms about his narcissism. That being said, it made for very entertaining content and it’s no wonder why this show was as huge as it was.
I liked allison. I know nothing about their personal life at home behind closed doors. But this bit it still seems like they like each other somewhat. The playful joking. Obviously it wasn’t working out. But allison got with Howard in college before he was a multi millionaire. Beth seems nice to though. But I don’t even think she’s hot. She alright.. and again that doesn’t mean she just married him for money. Time fly’s
@@meemeekeykat9402 It’s actually harder than you think. For over 3 months I can’t find a place to sleep, everyone keeps saying I look like the guy from the “wanted dead or alive” poster.
@@chindaoparanma248 many homes in north america have more than one room, like a living room with a couch. i'm talking about Howard, who at the time of this call had at least a guest room if not more. your personal drama really isn't relatable to a nationally famous millionaire who had a special remote lock put on his basement door to keep his wife and kids away from him. zero chance there wasn't a bed in his locked-away millionaire man cave. i bet he didn't kick her, though
She divorced him because he changed? She knew who he was and what his habits were prior to marriage but still took vows. 🤦🏽. And now the “covenant” of marriage has been broken prematurely.
1995. At around 11:30 they mention Robin's book, which didn't came out Spring 1995. They also reference the OJ murders near the end, & those happened June 1994.
Poor Allison? She's not the one who had to get up at 4 in the morning!! A mansion a nanny a maid new car shopping all the time ....ya poor Allison she couldn't bring her entitled ass to go to a different room in the mansion while Howard slept.
It's really not that hard to leave the guy in a quiet room to sleep. These woman stay at home while this guy makes millions and she's arguing with him over sleeping!! Let the guy have the bedroom to himself when he's gotta get up early! There's no other part of the mansion you can go to!
I mean, if she really isn't doing like anything, then she deserved this a little bit. The nanny, the dinner, I doubt she worked with Howard's income, etc. She must've felt pretty shtty after this being said on air. No wonder why they divorced haha
yes, I do wonder if what howard claims is true such as he had more than one nanny for his kids and possible chef on the daily essentially having allison need to do nothing. Howies been know to lie or exaggerate a lot so if this is true, it's hard to see her complaining.
You can see where when she was asked what she had to do she gave a song and a dance if you listen to her. What she had to do was minimal. But like most women she had an overblown sense of entitlement.
@@meemeekeykat9402 what does that have to do with anything? He went and made all the money and she treated him like shit. He had money just not like when he blew up.
My exwife would wake me up in the middle of the night and she refused to get in bed quietly or change her bedtime. I'm happily divorced today and sleeping great.
She loved him before he was rich and saw him as a regular person rather than worshipping money. She’s a saint for letting him cheat with strippers for years and raising his kids.
3 weeks with the flu…must be a pretty bad immune system. Like for real it sounds like strait up complaining for the sake. “I’ve had a bit of a headache for some time” is what WOMEN say Howie…smh
If he told her she had all that help at the house with someone doing all the house chores and a nanny y is he complaining all he had to do was work 4 hours and go home and do nothing
