Experiencing dust spots on your digital camera images?
Vibrations from an Electric Toothbrush can potentially loosen unwanted dust and other particles from hard-to-reach parts like the Image Sensor inside a digital Camera Body.
This video shows particles on top of the "Hot Mirror" inside a Ricoh GR Camera. Keeping a vibrating Ultrasonic Toothbrush Head to the Camera Body can bring the unwanted particles in motion so that they move out of the optical pathway.
How to check if this was a success?
Make a photograph of an evenly lit uniform surface (blue sky on a sunny day or a plain white wall) using a higher aperture number (f/11-/f16) low ISO and fast enough shutter speed.

Thanks. Its not a new idea. I read about it in connection with much older digital compact zoom cameras.

Interesting, at first you had me tricked thinkin you would touch it, but then suprised me with what you did! Maybe that + a blower to finish it off at the same time?

^_^ This video shows what happens when externally applied micro-vibrations are used on a camera body. The vibrations can loosen sticky parts and the gravity does the rest. A camera does not need to be opened or disassembled to do it. If you would unscrew the camera to the point which is shown in the video, a simple rocket blower might do the job as well. If the camera is not unscrewed, for the lack of control I would not recommend forcing compressed air inside the body.

If you were to theoretically do this on a not opened ricoh, how would you then get rid of the dust still floating inside? Would it not just be a temporary solution?

Looks like it. Only they would need to include a leaf shutter mechanism inside the lens like the GR does.

Yep, let gravity work for you. The camera is lying ont the rable because it was easier to record it and show what happens inside.

Yes, I have a full dismantle video. I still need to find a good and free mac video editing app to cut it right. Latest iMovie wont install on Mojave :/
