The name Work Song and soulful undertones are inspired by early century coal miners who infamously sang and shared stories as they mined. Notice how he starts the song with “Boys..”

It is soul, blues and folk. Like working for a long time away from home and you mess up somehow, drunk or cheat and she still took you back without question. His voice is incredible. He hits that falsetto evrytime. I play this song when I piss off my wife and a little smile comes on then doghouse lol.

Love how "Take me To Church" is about gay sex. It's great. OK THIS COMMENT SOUNDS SARCASTIC BUT IM BEING AKSDFHKSJ SERIOUS it's such a beautiful song and it's so poetic as always. Sad it gets brushed off as a radio song.

Actually take me to church is about how the church treats anyone it considers an outsider The video was meant to be a slap at Russia. During the Olympics when it was held in Russia, they wanted to ban ALL LGBTQ people from participating in it
