HP LaserJet 4100 is NOT just a printer! 

You lost me at HP+... No way I'm making an account to print. Hoped it was just a printer that did just that.

I have the Brother DCP-L2530DW Multifonction. Best purchase of my life. 150€, no account needed, laser, scanner, black and white (i never use colors)

I'd rather die than use a hp printer.

Liron, just wait a couples of months than the "printer is offline" even if the guy side desk of your can print on without problems will occur. We have multiple printers, all HP and i'm the IT guy who dont decide what to buy and its the same sh.. than before but with a screen on the printer. Printer say is offline on some computers, printer just dont print, printer is really offline, etc.... The only model i never had problems with (well way less problems i should say) is the old 3015. All the new models we have with HP smart in it keep my job safe until retirement.

Sorry, but we have an Epson that has been capable of all of that for a couple of years already. No account needed unless you want to print remotely. It prints from any of my devices as long as they have the Epson print app installed. It has big refillable ink tanks, and only costs us around one cent per page.

Nifty printer. 8 bucks a month for toner for the cheapest plan? Even if I don't print anything this month? Pass. Saying it can save you 50% means they double charge you for buying only what you need. Double pass.

i know you said this is simple but for me in a client's home just trying to get the printer to work it looks very complicated. i hope all these new features are optional.

Printer is junk and nothing is private, you must connect it to the internet and it calls home with everything you do. If you sign up for the free ink trial it locks the printer from ever being able to use generic cartridges. Just pay a little more and buy a Brother and you don't have to worry about anything.

I hate HP printers. I had 3 before. And it would have random problems printing. And you have to have a subscription to print with HP or they disable your printer from printing ... Got a brother laser printer and so far I am happy it so far

I have had some bad experiences with HP firstly the HP Laptop That failed and then the first then second printer that just would not work, Help from HP was non existent and that was when i left that scene, That was almost 7 years ago and maybe things have changed, But i wont be going back as A customer any time soon, The service was absolutely appalling

The biggest problem I've had with my HP laser is it going offline and you can't print unless you physically unplug and plug the printer back in. Tried to search this and non of the fixes work. Super annoying.

There's a reason why nearly every large corporate uses HP laserjets - they are absolutely reliable! Bought one myself for home use.

Legal documents can be faxed but can't be e-mailed. So there is still need for fax. Paper for printers comes from farmed trees that are grown specifically to be harvested for paper. No old growth trees are touched.

I've largely been an inkjet and epson user as an artist, but HP has been pretty trusty to me over the decades tbh. It's interesting to see how many security features all in ones have nowadays. The ui was pretty no-nonsense too (the pages per month usage for determining needed ink was something I haven't seen others do yet. The private pickup thing intrigues me, does it just put the print project in queue until it detects your phone next to it? Thanks for the vid, I like learning about various tech.

Yeah, have a new HP, scanner-printer combo. Can't scan, nor print, from PC without an account. Sometimes all lights are green, BUT wait, there is problem, I surprisingly have no device. AT ALL. My next one will be NOT HP.

That's for an office environment, and probably runs $600-$1200 (didn't look it up, so I could be way off). How about simple home use. Say a deskjet, I'd be willing to pay around $300. Is it possible?

Is that a color or monochrome printer?

I don't like HP and how, for decades, they've used their strong position in the market, to squeeze more and more money for their ink/print head (it doesn't have to come together but it helps them charge a ridiculous price for it). I've moved to Japanese manufacturers as a result of this terrible business practice. The printing quality is the same and I can buy only the ink itself and get a different cartridge for each color, so I don't end up with something I don't need and will probably expire by the time I need it and get dry and wouldn't be usable. Japanese manufacturers don't even demand you get their own ink cartridges (they'll politely and kindly try to ask you to, through their app, but they won't put too much effort into it), or even just their ink. You can even fill it up with a cheaper refill bottle. You can get super cheap compatible ink cartridges on AliExpress, separate or full sets and bigger packs if you want to save some more money and use the printer often, but there's really no need to get any of that compatible stuff. The original, "Made in Japan" products, are probably of better quality and are also pretty cheap. I use a Brother printer now, which has been reliable and I really like the interface on the printer screen and on the computer app. Canon and Epson are of the same quality, as far as I know. You can't go wrong with any of these known, old, proven brands. It's time to say goodbye to HP and any other manufacturer that decides to get more money from their customers without giving them anything of the same value in return, or something that their competitors don't offer (and their competitors offer it all for less).

these seem to be solutions looking for problems really. Most people just want their own printer near them to do what they want.

HP pagewide is a super dot matrix printer which is as fast and nicely printed as laser jets. Advantage: much less components … I have had it for five years and have had not one single sheet of paper stuck, not one single problem… areal workhorse… and now discontinued… mega bummer if you ask me… Folks at HP… give us the pagewide back!!

I wonder why HP had to send a unit when there are already 2 in house. I imagine all that complexity will be effortless to set up. Just give me a printer that prints and ink that doesn't put me in the poor house.

The problem is HP uses such cheap, poor quality buttons, they don't work. Also, once "preferences" is selected, it loops the language again and again, can't escape without power-cycling the printer. HP NEEDS to give the ability to print reports, ESPECIALLY PRINTER STATUS, from the PC, and NOT directly through the HP faulty and utterly worthless buttons.

Great video! Cloud printing is an old feature from HP and they definitely improved it a lot. I used it a lot when I had an internet/computer cafe but it was really basic back then. It was still really handy. Clients sent their stuff during the evening and I could print it from home and then they just collect in morning.

I never pay more than $40 for a printer

I was always inexplicably expected to be the techie working in many diff offices. I am ashamed to confess I have behaved like the demented white shirt guy in this video. Scanner/printers were the cruelest.

Now you know why I threw out HP and went to Canon and have had NO problems yet.. Get rid of HP, they are junk!

I hate my HP printer. I subscribe to Hpink and if I cancel my subscription plan I can't print anything unless I replace the cartridges with my own. Talk about having you by the balls. I will never buy another HP printer in my life
