HP Officejet 4500 Out Of Paper Problem when paper is there! This is how I fix this feed error!

Do not throw this printer away. It is a very good printer, but the most common issue with it is that it skips paper pick ups. You can fix that in less than 5 minutes!

Got my 4500 from a guy on Ebay who said is working fine, 'just needs ink.' Ahhh, NO, it wasn't 'just fine'. It did need ink (installed 2 new cartridges) but it ALSO would not feed paper (probably another reason why he was unloading it). I followed your advice, cleaned up the feed wheel and Voila....works like it did from the factory. Thank you!!

It would be soooo helpful if in your “printer repair and mantenamce” playlist, you make a playlist for HP, another playlist for Cannon and another for Epson, etc. And even better would be to clump together like printers, ie. All HP Photosmart. Maybe alphabetize groups in one manufacturer’s playlist. 189 videos is a lot to sort through when you need help.

Thanks that actually helped. However I all I did was mist that area of the paper with water and fed it through lol .

What is that green stick strip in the back of the printer called I'm pretty sure it's to prevent paper from doubling up but that is the cause to most printer feed problems also you should make a video on that too but what is that strip called? And is it for preventing double up on paper?

I followed your process closely and it still does not recognize paper is loaded. There was a recent cartridge change that did not go well and I see lots of ink underneath the cartridges. Could this cause n issue? Thanks!

started as a carriage jam, cleared that, now I have an out of paper error and unfortunately your instructions didn't help. The printer is rarely used.

DUDE..... F%$K I had same Zhit happen to mine now..... won't fix, pick up wheel isn't even turning, it only spins the ejections wheels in the middle nothing from the bottom moves..... I was on the phone with my tech guy as I fixed the carriage jam myself, then he said chuck it, I DONT WANNA!!! Its got paper, WTF happened to the paper sensor??? it prints quality pix, when it prints!!!! LOL OMFG headache!!!!!

Hey reska200, what if the paper pick up roller doesn't rotate? Mine just recently kept giving false alarms saying out of paper, after an update it did by itself

@@303electronics nothing was printing out still after manually cleaning the cartridges, I figured the cartridges were empty. I tried the replacement cartridges but apparently they’re not compatible. Also when I send a document over to the printer, it’ll send the document but will not print (not even print a blank page). Maybe I should just try to fix my other printer haha, they’re both broken.

@@gogo6347 change ink cartridges. Try cheap aftermarket off Amazon or eBay.
