To all the people that are worried about screen flex, believe me, it isn't. Strength of a display isn't proportional to how much a screen flexes. If a screen is too rigid it has higher chances of breaking/shattering. Hinges are what you should be worried about (the ones on the omen look good so far). Had to put this one out again cause people still be having the same doubt 😂.

What’s up Omen 15 fam, don’t forget to take off the plastic film on the battery charger. Otherwise it gets far too hot.

Hello! you seem very passionate and in love with this laptop I hope I will have the exact same feeling if not better. I have been saving for a laptop for 6 years now and i will be going to University. in my Country Jordan. the only variation available so far is RTX 2060, Intelcore 10750h, 1 tera ssd, 32 gb of ram, 144 hz, and I believe 4 zone rgb lighting. for 2000 dollars. but very soon maybe in 3 to 4 days they will release the 300hz and RTX 2070 Super max q, for 2400 dollars I believe, is it worth the wait and the money or do I go with configuration that is already available. please I truly require your assistance this laptop will stay with me for years to come 5 at least. thank you so much

Please do a comparison video on the Lenovo Legion 5/5i VS the HP omen 15 (2020) I think both of these laptops are the most "bang for the buck" with massively effective cooling solution, performance and battery life. However there are subtle differences which will suite different buyers and I'm one of them. So a side-by-side comparison will be extremely helpful for mid-range buyers in 2020

Thank you for this in depth review; I literally just purchased this machine for my son, studying AutoCAD in college. Professionally, I've always loved the Apple eco system and know nothing about Windows computers. I'm hoping I made the right choice for my kid, tho; the university only teaches the Windows version of AutoCAD, not AutoCAD for Mac. 😬

Is it bad to always leave this laptop plugged in? I know you can't really play games with it unplugged bc performance is bad. But let's say I leave it plugged in 24/7, is this bad considering the power supply gets hot

i bought one. the fan can be noisy and the hibernate function (when lip is closed) may not work every times, one of the fans will keep running until you either shut down or try hibernate again.

Subbed. Really like the detailed review. I am really looking forward to get the 2070 super mq variant tho. I wish the ryzen models came with more graphics horsepower and better screens though. This laptop is second on my list and as much as I love what it can do, I always deviate towards the legion 7i because of the screen it offers.

Thanks for the great review! I just have an issue with how you measured the sound level. It's not really practical to measure it right at the source. To make it reproducible, you have to measure it from a set distance. For example 50 cm would make sense, as that's probably the rough distance your ears would have from the source. When you know this distance, you can calculate the sound level for other distances. This allows for better comparing. Maybe choose a set distance for all your tests so you can make a nice comparison sheet. Other than that, I'm sooo going to buy an Omen 15 with AMD + RTX 2060!

HP just launched the ryzen 7 and rtx 2060 combo!

I think he’s hyping up the speakers a little to much calling it premium. I’ve Owned mine for a month. Those speakers are good but not premium. Backlight bleed on it is almost spot on but I’ve seen and owned better. Owned a gaming laptop in 2012 and it had no backlight bleed. The fans does come on a lot as well

It is a great laptop! Got it a couple weeks ago. Thermals, graphics, screen, keyboard, everything. Ryzen is legit low temp and hi performance. My ONLY complaint is you can NOT press both left mouse button and left mouse button at the same time... but then again. If you're gaming, you better have a mouse. For basic use, normally never need to press both buttons. The laptop is the shit otherwise!

Hey dal, important question. What color is your omen? It seems like all the ryzen variants come in 'mica silver' while the intel ones come in 'shadow black'. Both of them pretty much look the same so i'm very confused XD

My first laptop too was hp. Hp pavilion g6 i5 3rd gen with amd gpu. It still works and I'm using is as a secondary desktop. Just ordered new hp omen. Nice review.

Been using laptops with no number pads for years and believe me, if you type a lot of numbers like I do, you'd find yourself actually wishing for a numpad 😅 Even so...it's not actually a dealbreaker, one can always attach an external one. Those keys look gorgeous though

Two qualms about mine: 1. No XMP profiles, so you're limited to JEDEC speeds and timings. 2. USB-C states 3.1 Gen 2 with 5GHz transfer of video, data, and charge but will not charge the battery so I can't use an all in one cable solution. Thermals are amazing though which makes up for almost all of it's flaws.

Just checked their website. It does have a Thunderbolt 3 Port! Well the Intel models do...

I’ll tell u a joke re my Acer 5742 one of my major issues with it before was over heating which the new sad and computer shop internal clean out has fixed now no longer an issue less hotter now. I took it to a local computer shop he cleaned internals said they fan was blocked still with dust and he upgraded the mechanical hd to an sad before it took 10 minutes to start up now it takes 1 minute it’s amazing again now I’ve giving the laptop to my misses. And bought from pc world world as was cheapest big gaming laptop with decent quality HP OMEN 17-ck0501na 17" Gaming Laptop - Intel® Core™ i7, RTX 3060 omen 3060 i7 2021 track pad skipped a lot which made me 😡 when doing admin work so I sent it back to shop for repair and they replaced track pad. Also battery losing 30% while switched off (not standby) for a week so I’ve sent back into shop to get battery replacement. Speakers are best I’ve ever had. It’s a decent laptop and cheapest laptop for the size at pc world. What really frustrating me I’ve decided now I just want an Xbox as I can’t be bothered to buy all the assesories to make it a gaming laptop I put game on it like dungeon keep 1+2 aoe4 monkey island deponia prison architect and rim world and a few others and I’m happy with that did I leave anything out?

Hi , please help me I have the exact laptop with i7 10750H RTX2070 max Q 300hz . I updated all drivers and windows , and when I run any game I got drop FPS from 240 to 50 and it’s stuttering I run FPS test while gaming I noticed the GPU utilization drop from 90% to 20% in 60 70 degree . I don’t know what to do

I'm coming from osx. Am I correct there is a way to switch the control key with the alt key. I find the ctrl key at such a weird angle. I'm used using my thumb and know need to learn using my pinky again. I believe I once saw some app which allows you to switch keys. I can't remember the name though was like 16-17 years ago

Perhaps it's me, but I got a feeling the gap between display and body when closed looks bigger to what I've seen in other models. I believe I saw vids where the display is more flush to the lower part of the deck. Only was separated at the dip of the keyboard deck. Kinda weird right? Your also the first to state the audio is quite okay, most say it's not that good. I was kinda baffled about that them being Bang& Olufsen

Question, I'm a Mac user and I'm very used to hiding the dock. Why do windows users hardly do that. I mean the status bar kcan be hidden in windows. Can you also adjust the speed of show/hide? I haven't used windows in years so I need t get used to it again

Returned it almost immediately... The edges are so sharp I'm not sure how anyone would use this as an actual laptop.

Curious if you have seen the tutorials to turn off the boost on all the new ryzen chips to decrease 10-15c while gaming? Bob of all trades has it on his g14 review. I have this omen. It's amazing! It doesn't top 65c while gaming with the boost disabled. Nice review man!

Hello. Need a small help. I'm looking forward to buy Omen 15, but little bit confused between 2 variants. Hope you will help me out. 1. Ryzen 7 4800H + GTX 1650Ti 4Gb VRAM 2. Ryzen 5 4600H + GTX 1660Ti 6Gb VRAM Laptop usage -- I generally play all standard games, often high-end games too. But I'm not a die-hard gamer. In India we don't have the r7v+ 1660ti combo, just the r5 + 1660ti is available. So will there be any big difference between them for after effects and premiere Pro, maya app usage?

Hello, this is a great review video. I honestly need a little help on choosing a laptop. I'm have the MacBook pro 13 and the HP omen in mind. I have never owned a gaming laptop although I'm a gamer. The most important thing for me is durability and good performance on basic jobs. I owned a MacBook pro from 2010 and recently stopped working. I was really happy I didn't have to replace my laptop for so many years. Is the omen a computer I can trust for years to come?. I will really appreciate some help.

had 3 of them, 1 just died after bios update (didnt charge anymore), next two had dead pixels, so i gave up on this laptop, since legion 5 w ryzen is out of stock in my country i went for the asus tuf 15, havent seen alot of issues with it, but the screen is really bad :). anyway i do my work on an ext display so no problem. You get what you paid for :)
