Thank you a million times! The last day I opened my HP laptop to add RAM and HDD, and I successfully installed RAM but wasn't able to find the HDD slot, but today, after watching this overwhelming tutorial now I successfully replaced the fake HDD with the new one.
@@TechFinds I'm having doubt bro i have the same laptop my graphics is 1650 and i want to upgrade my graphics will i be able to upgrade??? Can u please tell me
That's a very confusing topic as no brand really advertise maximum storage limit. I also know the situations when support teams told the maximum supported space value for certain laptop and it was actually not true, because laptop could take much more. I don't know if the laptops nowdays have any limits at all. If so, they should give any information in specification.
Dude thank you. I wanted to upgrade my laptop but didn't want to have to pay a arm and a leg to some repair center. This video is old but it helped me so much.
Lol dude i just bought one for my nephew at micro center for 650$ and i should of gotten them to upgrade the ram but itll do fine for a little while i just wanted to see how to upgrade to 16gb
Great video this helped me with both upgrading my RAM and adding a hard drive. Brought the pc brand new for £375 so left room for upgrades, now on 16gb of ram and 2TB additional storage👍🏼
I actually just bought this laptop and watched your video and upgraded my Ram, i bought the 2 G.skill ripjaws to give myself 16gb of Ram, made a huge difference and im wanting to get a hdd to add to it, i have the Ryzen 7 version, its hard to find review on this one being there are many models. after a little playing around i manage to average around 110-120 fps on MW, Fortnite, Apex, And Bo3. if you get this laptop i highly recommend upgrading the ram and getting an additional hdd as you get 500 gb ssd with my model, overall i was unsure after playing on it before upgrading ram but after i did that and made sure my games were set to run off of the GPU and not integrated graphics, i got a pretty good result, i bought this refurbished at micro center for $659, and spent $80 on the Ram, about to buy the additional HDD. Highly suggest this laptop dont let the gtx 1650 bring you down it actually runs excellent!
I didn't buy new ram, i just took out the original ram and installed it to show how to do it. You can mix brands but match the specs with your original RAM.
What if I put In a hard disk from my old dell 3552 pqc In there would the windows files crash because I have Windows 10 In the hard disk too and it's not the hard disk which came to the laptop I changed it because the other one stopped being detected
What it's the maximum in total to upgrade in ram an both memory units? And it's possible to upgrade the processor and graphic card? I'm thinking about buying one of these
You can have up to 32GB RAM (2x16) 2666MHz. If it comes to storage i'm not aware of any volume limits. 2TB for both drives is possible for sure tho. You can't replace processor and graphics
hey dude, nice tutorial. I´m having a problem with my unit. Today I added some ram and an extra ssd and it worked nice without the back cover, but as soon as I assembled the back cover, the laptop turned off and it won´t turn on again. I connect the charger and the light doesnt turn on and if i press the on button, the laptop fans spin for a second and then stops and a a popping sound is heard, like if something were heated up and exploded, but nothing seems to be exploded. The only thing I can think causes the problem is the charging port and the battery... also, my batterty started to turn off with a 25% charge in it.
assuming you removed the battery before doing your upgrades, hp laptops sometimes do a weird thing with the cmos battery where it just goes through a reset. The behavior you described happened to me. Just let it go through it, it should turn off a few times until it boots up normally
So I need help with something. When I first got this laptop it was running apex at around 70 FPS but 2 says after for absolutely no reason it’s FPS dropped to 12-30 and very laggy. I reset my laptop completely so what’s the problem?
I"m interested in putting 8gb x2 DDR4 3200 in my 2021 HP Pavilion 15. I noticed that there are different CAS latency choices. (16, 18 and 22) Would a lower (faster) CAS latency be compatible with my unit?
I wonder this too, but I think it should be compatible and I'm confident enough that I will upgrade too. Lower latency should be better so I take the risk and hopefully it will work!
The 60hz on the hp omen is a bit deal breaker for me. And the msi is the best. But if you can buy the helios 300 with i7 -9750h or i7-10750h it is the best of all. Thats why i biught the helios. It is the best but the fan noice is omg i can't explain it enough. But there is headphone. So it is up to you. But if i were you i will buy the helios 300.
Hello, i have the same laptop as yours. I'm planning to buy an adata su 750 2,5 sata ssd on this laptop, is the installation will be the same as you? thx a lot mate!. keep the good work!
You take out the 4 screws keeping it,one of them also holds the SSD/HDD frame in place. After that you pull the battery out slowly trough the bottom, swap it out and then screw it back in place and connect it back. Put the back cover back on,turn on the laptop and wait about 30 seconds for the CMOS and BIOS to reset and off you go.
Hello! I just bought one 8 gb stick of the crucial ram. Would I need 2 x 8gb of the same ram or can I use the crucial with the ram already installed? Thanks!
Try pressing windows, type disk in search bar, click the first option and find your new ssd. I dont remember exact steps and what to do next, but shouldnt be hard
On your Windows Desktop, Click the Windows key, and then type "Disk". Click enter, and find a black color rectangle. It will say "Unallocated" and your Capacity. Right Click it, and click "New Simple Volume" Then Follow the Steps. Feel free to Re-name your Drive, and when you're done Click finish. Just wait a second, and you'll get a Notification that a new drive has been connected. Now you can access the disk and do whatever!
If your laptop came with only SSD then your slot for 2.5" drive is free so you can install some HDD in there. You can also replace your current SSD with bigger one, but that invilves reinstalling Windows
normally you don't disconnect the ribbon cable. it's extremely delicate. i've worked on other HPs and you disconnected it at the drive, not at the board as the drives connection was much stronger (therefor less likely to break). could be wrong though. still. be very careful with that ribbon cable, they break easily.
How different are the models of this type? As I have the one with white keys 15-ec1002na and would like to know if it’s internally the same? Just so I don’t crack it open and get lost 😂
Thank you very much for this video. It seems like descent laptop if you find it cheap. However i wish they did bigger battery instead of that hdd. Who uses that now days and why?
Okay I feel like HP and Lenovo gaming laptops will be something I want to get later in the future because my recent experience when i tried to fix my MSI laptop went down hill when I wanted to just replace the CPU / GPU fans. I hate that some of the design assembles like MSI and ASUS are just difficult to work to disassemble to the point it could break easily. Watching this video though makes me feel better though lol. Thanks for sharing this video!
I don't know how about other models but once i was replacing fans in 2018 HP Omen 15 and it was really difficult and complicated due to design if that information can help you.
@@TechFinds Well now that you mention about the models from 2018, I forgot that the designs were still complicated in that year until 2020 from what I was told. The laptop I have right now is MSI GS63 Stealth 8RE and I thought the disassemble process was not bad. But after 30 mins of tedious and careful work on taking the parts to replace the CPU and GPU fan, I was already stressed out. After that though, i messed up my laptop big time and it happened recently too. I may consider to get a gaming laptop another time so I'll go with PC later.
If it comes to RAM you can have up to 32GB (2x16) 2666MHz. For storage i haven't heard of any limits unles the HDD for example is physically too big to fit the slot
So for the RAM, which one did you buy? Also, are the RAM that was already in there and the new RAM the same? Please reply as soon as you can because I want to upgrade my laptop. Thank you.
Hello I was wondering if any of the components that you have shared on the description would be compatible with the Hp Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-dk0xxx
Hi Tech Finds! Very well done video! i recently purchased a 15-dk1082NR and plan to upgrade the ram from 16-32. this helps since the assembly of the cases can be a bit hairy. I was wondering what kind of tools you have? I really like the lifter you used! i have a set of tools but those weren't included sadly. and well as you stated the case can be a bear to get open without nicking or breaking the covering. Thanks again for the well done video!
Thanks for commenting! Unfortunately i don't even know how that "lifer" is called, i had it in my precision screwdriver set, but you can use anything that is thin and hard plastic. For example guitar pick or credit card
@@TechFinds I'm having doubt bro i have the same laptop my graphics is 1650 and i want to upgrade my graphics will i be able to upgrade??? Can u please tell me
Hi, thanks! Unfortunately I don't have a link as I bought it in some market. Look for precision screwdriver tool kit on the internet if you didn't find it yet
Why would they make it SO GODDAMN HARD to take off the backpanel??? Literally trying to use every flat thing I could find to get into the crack!! There's NOWHERE to even insert my tool to even start going around!
Does anybody know where to find one of those plastic tools? I can't open mine because I don't own anything close to being able to fit into the gap between the plastic
hey tech finds, the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-DK0056WM comes with only single ram slot and i cant find any video on that particular model so my question is wheter it will have same amount of space for the internal devices i.e 2.5 inch drive and if i replace the stock ssd should i install windows again????????/ thanks
I haven't heard of Pavilion with 1 RAM slot, at least not this generation what I had. I don't know about the other slots in the model you mentioned. After replacing the drive where you have your windows installed you have to install windows on the new drive
Im pretty sure that it is not that model because it was made before the Ryzen 5 5600H came out, But im pretty sure that its All made on the same platform, because it looks the same as my Ryzen 7 4800H with 1660TI
hey, can you do a guide on how to clean the fans from dust? i checked other tutorials but i'm still really doubting myself. I'm still waiting for my warranty to disappear to upgrade, but now Ill stick with cleaning it. I've been using air dusters to blow the fans froms dust, but I didnt open the lid, so most likely the dust went inside the laptop Other than that thanks!
like........all of them magically vanished? i mean if you have even ONE left, you could try a local hardware store and see if they can size them up,....
