Hi, I had the symsteering on my Baja for some time. It works with the same principle spring setup. I found that the spring is getting soft way to fast and there a lot of slop on the steering. Now I changed back to an original system in alloy, but with the original type of saver.... Also not good after some time of use (the notches on the alloy wear of at the saver point). Hows your setup after 2 years?
End points look way out. Once the steering stops turning the wheels and the servo keeps pushing beyond that it puts stress on the servo and the new spring on that steering setup. I had similar steering setup. Did the job nicely :)
laurent gouriou i had did that to show the movement of the saver. I turned travel down so now it only moves the amount it has to 👍👍👍. Glad to hear that it worked nicely. I heard good things about those setups plus i was tired of always having to tighten down the saver spring on the stock unit.
one thing i noticed after getting an alloy setup is the steering rod ends popping off all the time. Thats with jumps though. ended up getting alloy rod ends. no more issues after that.
laurent gouriou thanks much appreciated. I was thinking of going IRP links for the baja. I have IRP on my 5ive t and I love them. The funny thing is the IRP links just happen to be the deal of the day on DDM.
So what's the update? Lol how's it working for you? I have a 5B and that thing doesn't steer whatsoever. I actually felt the same way you did about the turtle racing Servo saver and I couldn't find a reason to spend $90 when every other one on the market is have that. I actually think I might order one off of eBay tonight
John Tejeiro so far its been very good fitment is very good The bearings that are provided work great. My only let down is that the servo spring feels a little weak at times when driving it with large hi traction front tires. L
John Tejeiro what i did was use a small zip tie on the assembly. I like my steering very tight in my trucks. If I had to guess I would assume that the turtle racing one would feel about the same way. So the only good thing about the zip tie is at the zip tie would fail and still allow spring to do it's job. It's a great item for the money. I would definitely recommend it.
