RIGHT? I dooo not like Jaime (Hguuuaimay) Riviera, omg his voice is so dry, depressing, and just not good... Always hate listening to him! Just sounds so agitating.. Please take his job lol.. No hate! Just opinion.
HTC was the 1st to come out using 4G. Apple, Sammy, LG, everyone else followed. HTC was the 1st phone company to equip their phones with all-metal bodies. Every other company just followed. HTC introduced us to Blinkfeed, BoomSound, UltraPixel tech, etc. and every other company just did the same by making their equivalents. HTC has always been the true leader of innovations in the phone arena. It's too bad HTC is hurting and is regarded as the under-dog while every other company takes the credit for what HTC creates. HTC deserves greater recognition. HTC 10 all the way.
this x1000 HTC is and always has been the first in innovation for smart phones, everyone I know rocks iPhone or galaxy and ask what my mysterious phone is, those poor souls, everyone jumping on bandwagons without seeing for themselves the potential of HTC devices
+chris s "mysterious phone" x) ahaha. I know, I remember when I took my friend visiting from Japan to In N Out, she seen my phone and was like "ohhhh, what is this??" haha I was like, it's an HTC One M8, it's made by a Taiwanese brand, much better than Apple phones ;) (she has an Apple phone) Anyways, I agree! Couldn't have said it any better myself.
Metal is bad for reception. It increases the amount of radiation the antenna has to emit (aka send through your head and body) and therefor drains the battery much more quickly. Also, germs grow much faster on metal.
knwr Even when we ignore possible health effects, your phone's signal still has to get through a lot of material, which isn't exactly great for reception. I'm just saying that, there are people who do care about radiation (and you seem to know some of them), and if they do, then they should consider getting a Note 7, since it has one of the lowest IEEE standard SAR ratings ever measured on a phone. (0.25 W/kg).
Although the choice is obviously hard I am choosing the 10 for these reasons: - I don't really need all the extra bloatware the S7 provides and Sense UI is more "Grown Up" - The Construction of the 10 is wayy better IMHO. That Cold Metal feel in the Morning is the most underrated "feature". - I've been a very happy HTC customer since the Desire HD and I have no intention of going somewhere else if their products still fulfill my needs. Basically I'd only see the 10 in front of me, but the S7 is a good opponent here in Greece since, the S7 Edge costs 580 euros while the HTC 10 costs 769 euros. That's a price difference to consider ! PS. As for the camera, as a photographer I know pretty well that software plays an enormous role win JPEG processing. But when you shoot RAW (that the HTC 10 supports) the software plays no role at all. The WB plays no role. Noise Reduction, Sharpening, Vignetting and Lens Corrections... None of that Happens. And from my experience, I compared RAW vs JPEG on my Sisters's LG G4 and the difference was NIGHT and DAY. On RAW mode you can clearly see the Vignetting from the lens, but the image quality is leaps ahead. So another reason I am considering the 10 is that RAW mode !!! I used Manual Mode on my M8 a LOT and was surprised to see that when I first bought it.
im stuck between the m10 never had htc but 2 people i know had problems with different htc's not m's , Note 7 but always had problems with them myself but like the style etc or the xperia xz i had the xperia z and loved it
yea i can see that, but the earphones are almost $300, i'm already bleeding my wallet to the phone, so i'll have to pass on them. The phone's earphones are still premium quality. going sliver by the way
It's inspirational to see this guy's rise to the top of the tech game. I remember when he was a niche player making awesome camera test of Nokias and such.
HTC for me cause of Audio via speakers and headset. its more important for me as while watching youtube, gaming or listening to music via speakers or headphones audio really matters more than waterproofing which is also nice to have..
Plus don't need to deal with TouchWiz, even though pretty snappy the notification panel is ugly and there are a shit load of stock apps. Sense is the only UI on the market other than stock UI on which I wouldn't use a launcher.
I'm perfectly happy with my 6P but if I had to chose one I would go with the HTC 10 hands down. HTC's hardware is always top notch and I greatly prefer Sense over Touchwiz.
There's something about HTC that makes you happy when they succeed on something. LOL, very happy for their HTC 10... I'll make sure i'll get this for my birthday.
+JuanBagnell just wondering, what software version are you using while doing this review? Did you get the camera software update already? It's been a bit of a mess because the press was releasing the reviews before the product was out imo, and looks like there have been a couple updates on both firmware and camera software (I've seen reviews with 1.20 HTC software version, 1.21 and seen samples with 1.24)
Im an HTC fan...because its an amazing phone for my daily use and also i love when everybody with theirs iphone 6s and galaxy on the hand come and look at my HTC when i pick it up...not everybody has an HTC, and thats what i love.
Random RU-vid Watcher I don't really use mobile payment, wireless charging ain't a bug deal, splitscreen is coming with Android N so.... yeah. I mean the S7 is a great phone I just prefer the HTC 10 slightly more.
HTC 10 vs Samsung Galaxy S7: THIS is a clash of the titans. The two best phones of the year but which is better... Screen: The HTC 10 is packing a new and improved 5.2 inch Super LCD 5 display while the Samsung seemingly rules the roost with a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display. Despite what you hear ,though, this fight is certainly closer than you think. The HTC device is packing the best LCD display around, with brilliant contrast yet natural colours and excellent viewing angles all round plus a vivid sear-your-eyes-off 2K resolution. Samsung keeps the same screen size from last year's S6 and the same display technology as well as the same 2K resolution. That's not to say it's a bad screen though. In fact, it is considered by many to be the best display on a smartphone and for good reason. Fantastic contrast, excellent brightness, super-deep blacks and hot, saturated colours make this display the most visually appealing to the average consumer The screen is also more battery-efficient than the competition. Yet, it is often accused of over-saturation but Samsung have largely fixed this with the S7 while maintaining its sheer quality. If you're more of a realist though, you'll prefer the HTC 10. It's quite remarkable how much HTC have closed the gap and you DEFINITELY shouldn't be disappointed with either display but Samsung still have, hands down, the best screen around. S7 Rating: 10 HTC Rating: 9 Design: This is obviously quite a matter of preference but there are still some design elements that are superior to others and excellent build quality cannot be denied. These are two of the best designed phones on the market. The HTC 10 is the beauty of light, crafted into a brand new all-metal unibody. Every element of the HTC 10 has been designed, refined and perfected. From the bold new chamfered contour to its stunning dual-textured finish and quality construction. All the way down to getting the perfect click from the power button. The Samsung Galaxy S7 represents a seamless fusion of glass and metal. It makes a breathtaking design statement with its beautifully slim body and radiant glass surfaces that reflect a wide spectrum of dazzling colours. Keep in mind though, this is NOT the S7 Edge. It does not have a crazy curved screen and plays it safer and more subtle with a normal 2D display. The S7's design has some definite cons though. It is a total fingerprint magnet and the glass back isn't very practical. It feels cool but after some drops, it will have chips and cracks ALL OVER which certainly make it less amazing. The S7 is still a beautiful phone and a BIT more flashy than the 10 but loses practicality marks and its beauty is quite short term. S7 rating: 9 HTC 10 rating: 10 Performance; These two phones have quite different set-ups. The S7 uses a home-grown 2.3 ghz octa-core 64-bit Exynos 8890 chipset backed up by a mega Mali T880 GPU and a whooping 4GB of RAM. The HTC 10, however, uses the all-new 2.2ghz quad core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset backed up by the brilliant Adreno 530 GPU and the same 4GB of RAM. These two are pretty much matched in power but the HTC 10 has an ace up its sleeve. It has the lowest touch latency of any smartphone on the market. That means the display responds to touch more quickly than other phones, so manipulating on-screen content feels more natural. The difference between the 10 and other leading Android phones like the Galaxy S7 and LG G5 is instantly noticeable. Additionally, benchmark-wise, The HTC 10 is the most powerful smartphone on the planet. On AnTuTu benchmark tests that I ran, the HTC 10 scored 145,595. For reference, the Xiaomi Mi 5 scores in the 136,000 range, the iPhone 6s scores between 133,000 and 136,000, and the Galaxy S7 in the 134,000 range. If that isn't enough Qualcomm's excellent track record with GPUs and app support mean that the Adreno 530 of the HTC 10 could perform a bit better than the Mali T880 of the S7 in GAMING S7 Rating;10 HTC 10 rating:11 Camera: This is pretty awesome for both. The HTC 10 packs a 12MP (HTC UltraPixel™ 2 with 1.55μm pixel), Laser Autofocus, BSI sensor, Optical Image Stabilisation, ƒ/1.8 aperture and 26mm focal length (80° wide angle), Dual tone LED flash and 4K video rercording. The S7 has a 12 MP, f/1.7, 26mm, phase detection autofocus, OIS, LED flash, 1.4 µm pixel size camera. Judging from the specs, the HTC 10 should have a slightly better camera or at least equal but everyone says the S7 takes slightly better pictures. I say, these are probably software issues that HTC will iron out with an update, so the S7's victory could be short lived. Also the Super AMOLED display of the S7 makes everything look better. Perhaps it makes it pictures look better than they actually are. This is speculation though and the S7 takes a narrow win, for now, anyway. S7 Rating; 10 HTC 10 RATING:9 Interface/UI: HTC 10 rating: 10 S7 Rating: 8 Price: Both phones are the same price but given that Samsung is more popular with the masses, the HTC 10 is likely to become cheaper than it with its lesser-known brand name which will allow its prices to dip lower than Samsung's big gun. S7 rating;6 10 rating:7 TOTALS: S7 RATING:53 HTC 10 RATING:56 THE HTC 10 WINS.
no, the 10 gets a 10 in performance because you can't go above 10 and UI is subjective because they perform the same which means it's up to looks which is subjective so they both get a 10 so they are tied
+Shadow Slayer It gets an 11 in performance because it performs better than S7 but I can't give S7 a 9 because that makes it feel like it doesn't perform perfectly, which it does. So S7 gets a 10 and HTC 10 gets an 11 to indicate it performs better. UI IS subjective but there are some things the vast majority prefer over others and there are some UI elements which are definitely positives. The majority say Sense is better than Touchwiz. It is brilliant and I have to agree. As I said, design "is obviously quite a matter of preference there are still some design elements that are superior to others and excellent build quality cannot be denied. These are two of the best designed phones on the market". However, PRACTICALITY of design is NOT subjective. It's like a house made of glass and a house made of brick. The house made of glass might look better but it obviously isn't practical and won't last as long. The house made of brick might be less flashy, but it's solid and strong and just...more practical. Such are the designs of the S7 and the HTC 10. If you posted with the intention of being a suck-up Samsung fanboy, it would've been better if you did not post at all. Just accept it, the HTC 10 is greater than the S7.
Caleb K-Johnson sorry, i can't. It might be because i need a better camera and the htc 10 isn't delivering, that might be why i put the s7 so high, i do not prefer Samsung over HTC (i bought the m9 before i bought the note 5 because i thought i could live with the frankly garbage m9 camera but once i used it for a while it pissed me off so much that i had to return it). I want to love the 10 because of how much better it is then the m9 but it still doesn't have a good enough camera, if the HTC 11 has a better camera than the s8 then I'm switching to HTC (unless some ither phone has a better one) but until that happens, i can't. One more thing, the 10 has a Adreno 550
Cool... a well done comparison... both are really good phones... in the States the HTC will get updates faster... the audio is kind of important to me so I'd go with the 10.
Not a bad comparison but it forgot to mention another key points for HTC like Uh Oh protection, faster updater (15 days after Nexus devices), 2 full years of updates and 24 bit DAC on the headphone jack, because it's not enough to say it will sound better, it's necessary to explain why so customers can know they're buying better hardware
HTC 10. The fact that it's sold unlocked, has an unlockable bootloader, near stock Android, faster updates, and better audio trumps the S7's waterproofing, Samsung pay, and slightly better camera for me.
+Soundtallica in Chains You can buy the S7 unlocked if you want. Updates are once in a blue moon. How often do you actually listen to your phone without headphones? Like once a month for me. So really it's down to stock android and a bootloader. If that's your thing then go for it. I personally have an unlocked s7, actually use the better camera every day, use samsung pay every other day, use wireless charging every day and it's very nice not to care if it's pissing down with rain when I'm out jogging. (Considering I'm from Scotland, having a waterproof phone is prettyyyy important)
geetarwanabe To each his own. However, the unlocked S7 is missing quite a few LTE bands for the carriers here in the US, which makes that a no-go for me. And about the speakers, I use them quite a bit. Not necessarily for music, but I'm too lazy to go through the trouble of connecting earphones just for a quick RU-vid video or game.
I wish I was due for an upgrade. Then I'd have the pleasure of choosing between these two phones. Honestly I'd go better audio over better camera. Thats the deal breaker for me. HTC 10 if I could.
They're close. It's all about which brand you prefer and samoled or lcd, metal or glass, ip68 or better audio. HTC is great phone, but for me S7 in edge version wins with screen, edge and water resistance
Finally! Good to see an unbiased hands-on review of both phones... not that it's made my decision on what to upgrade to any easier! Thanks for posting!
hardyman the thing that i'm concerned is the birghtness. I tend to go out a lot so I will need a good brightness of the screen. and also I like darker blacks in my screen, it makes pictures looks better (personal taste). and I'm also a heavy user of camera on my smartphone, and so far the best one is S7's. the feature, the autofocus, the quality, it's just better than any smartphone. but other than camera and screen, HTC 10 is the king
Both fantastic devices. Samsung's camera offering is a tad better.. but that's nothing HTC's software team can't fix. so overall it comes down to HTC faster updates better overall sound quality / build quality that will not smash in to a million pieces. HTC sense software is by far the best skin over Android never bogging down after a month compared with dreaded touchwiz software. this is another year HTC can take my money.
1980iar thanks you sir. I cannot use another touchwiz software product until they improve on updates.. and the actual touchwiz it's self. Touchwiz is still freezing and lagging on the s7 even will 4gb of ram ! Samsung are lazy coders period.
LordTomee I have HTC M9 now, I love HTC i've had the 8 before it. A co worker of mine has the Galaxy s7 and her camera is amazing so i wanted to look into it. I think i'm going to try the s7 this time around b/c of the multitask feature.
Same i got bored of the same shiny colour look on my old s6 cant wait till my 10 arrives been counting down the days just like when i forst saw the m7😂
nothing out there can compare with HTC sound, design, speed and Android SENSE, i used to sell smartphones and i can say SENSE is the best, smoother and quicker out there
+Javier Rodriguez Sense has always been an unstable mess - I've owned a ton of HTC phones (probably around 7 of them all up) in the past and every single one of them has been unstable and filled with bugs. They ran smoothly sure - when they weren't freezing, crashing apps and rebooting themselves. The HTC 10's design is also far fromt he best. There is no consistency in it's design at all - the rear looks like a HTC, the front looks like a complete S7 rip off with the overall shape of the device as well as the design/position of the fingerprint sensor. Likewise the sharp, chambered design of the rear of the phone is completely at odds with the smoother, dark, curved design of the front of the phone. Completely nonsensical design. The Z5 Premium and S7 Edge both are far superior in their design's, and the S7 is also a better a significantly better overall device. Hell I have hated Samsung phones my entire life, and even I struggle to come up with an argument against the S7 Edge, it's just THAT good a device. Which is why I am going to pick one up today.
Haahahaha really???,i had the m7 and now the m8, and never had any problem, not even for a second in 3 years, maybe u bought fake versions, cuz i asure you that you have ANY idea of what u r saying, u r just a liar, you are saying something like "the pigs can fly by themselves", pfffff what a liar
The nature of your response makes it blatantly obvious that you are a 15 yearr old child - or at the very least that you have the maturity of one. I have owned every flagship HTC phone starting from the Windows based HD2, through to the HTC Velocity (first 4G phone), and up until the One M7. The M7 was an amazing device on paper - it had everything. It was probably the first Android device ever to have a genuine high end feel to it's design, it revolutionised sound on phones with the boomsound speakers, it has the best display on the market hands down, and it was the first Android phone ever which truly ran perfecty smooth and lag free. But after long terms use, you start to learn that many of the things that were great on paper, werent designed all that well for the long haul. The metal seemed a joy on the shop floor, but it lacked durability - after a few drops it would end up covered in dings and chips that could not be repaired...and the slippery metal body made it very hard to hold/use one handed. The camera seemed great on paper, and in teal life it was fine for small images - but if you ever wanted a large high res shot, it was unable to provide that. The software ran smoothly, but had silly limitations such as only being able to use a max of 5 home screens (when Android natively supported up to 7). The inbuilt HTC browser was a dog and used to crashe constantly, especially later after some of the later software updates. The phone hung on me numerous times, requiring a hard reset each time. It was a phone that was at its best showing off in the phone shop, that (in real world use) got worse and worse the more you got to know it. The problem is that i had that same problem worth the 2-3 HTC phones i owned before it too. If you want to believe that i am making up stories because you think i have nothing better to do, then think what you want. I've got enough experience with all the major brands to know what I'm talking about, so i really don't care what you think in all honestly.
Peter H i only had the m7 cuz i gave it to my mother and after 3 years it never crashed, and now i have the m8 and it's working perfectly, all the memory is full plus the micro sd of 64GB full of heavy games videos etc.., where do u buy ur smartphones? haha, by the way im 33 but i speak french and spanish, thats why i sound like 15 year old boy maybe, nevermind i dont need to write so many lines to convince u, my HTC devices never ever crashed and exept for the camara in some situations, is the best brand of smartphones, good luck with ur samsung dude
Javier Rodriguez No, I think you're 15 because responding the way you did (by accusing somebody of lying about owning something just because they disagree with you) is an incredibly immature response. As is suggesting that I bought my phone somewhere dodgy. They are the type of responses I would expect from a 15 year old teenager who doesn't grasp the concept of mature conversation. The language has nothing to do with it - I am not one to judge somebody for grammar on an international online forum/resource. You have apparently had two HTC phone (the M7 and M8), and you you even admit the M7 had issues with the camera crashing... Yet you question my credibility when I've owned numerous HTC devices and seem to have more experience with the brand then you do. But apparently my claims of HTC phones having software issues are ludicrous. Right.
It's simple.. HTC 10: 2.5 GBs of Ram available for the user, an almost stock android experience and a metal body for more protection. Also a deal on updates between Google and HTC, which means HTC phones getting the latest software in less than 30 days after release. S7: 2.2GBs of Ram available (I've seen some s7 with less than 1.5GBs free) for the user, with lots of bloatware, a fingerprint magnet on its back and guaranteed lag after a few months. Also, updates may never come. Come on guys. Let's be honest. Samsung makes gorgeous looking phones who seem promising but that's all..
+mitilini6 About the HTC and Google deal, does it include carrier versions? My Verizon Moto X won't receive the Android 6.0+ update while the Pure edition can. And I don't want this to repeat with the HTC 10.
Ventroid What I've read is..HTC made a deal with Google to get the latest updates in 30 days tops after release and also, they are making the two new nexus devices this year. HTC is trying to be a top firm like it was back in 2013 with the M7. Google, sees HTC as an easy way to the smartphones market. If the next nexus devices fail then they'll buy HTC very cheap and be like Apple (their own device made specifically for android). You shouldn't have any problems with the HTC 10. Now about carriers. In my country and generally in the EU, carriers mostly sell unlocked phones which means that as soon as an update is out, everyone gets it. In the US on the other hand, carriers tend to fuck you up by selling you some devices cheaper but not sending you new updates, before they've installed their bloatware. Buy an unlocked device and then use any carrier you like. You can read this too: www.computerworld.com/article/2923622/android/android-upgrade-report-card-lollipop.html
Yea I'm a huge audiophile also but apparently in terms of boosting music quality unless ure listening to hifi music quality, the htc 10 doesn't make ure music sound better. In terms of speaker however, htc blows samsung out of the water but keep in mind this is due to waterproofing.
Glad you covered the audio output of both speaker and headphones. I noticed that S7 headphone volume seems to be a little quieter than on my previous Note 4. HTC's flagships always seem to have above standard audio quality from their speakers, glad to see its the same for their headphone output.
I got the HTC 10 and it is awesome. Galaxy phones are just so "bleh" and like everyone has a samsung. HTC 10 is a sexy device and fun to use. It's a big upgrade from my iPhone 4s haha.
not even close in my shop where I sell hundreds of phones Galaxy S7 Edge beats the HTC 10 most people prefer pretty much everything about the Galaxy phone including how it feels and a hand. The Galaxy S7 Edge has to be glass or the wireless fast charging will not work. When you have aluminum you can't do wireless fast charging.. the Galaxy S7 Edge screen and amoled screens are the future life like, Inky blacks, and no motion blur that LCDs and Retina Display suffers from when it comes to fast action movies, games.. The Edge screen brings you closer into movies, videos, and games that the HTC 10 and Apple iPhones cannot come close to even Apple has said that they are changing to the AMOLED screens such as the Galaxy S7 Edge has for the future they said it will be in the iPhone eat because I recognized the better screen performance, better battery life and everything else Galaxy S7 Edge and Samsung truly in always ahead of the times hardware and software everybody else always looking in the rearview mirror
+Zach Vaught the Galaxy S7 Edge in my opinion looks better and feels better in the hand to me and most of the people in my shop. the edges on both side is amazing when it comes to this 5.5 inch screen at only 76% screen to body ratio... CRAZY the only reason I would say the HTC 10 feels better in the hand because it's smaller @ 5.2 inch screen.. as for the audio all audio on phones suck anyways that includes HTC I'm talking about from the speaker. there's no excuse not to have mono or stereo Bluetooth speaker or headphones as for the audio out of the jack there are some things that matter something that don't the difference between the two through the audio jack is negligible you cannot tell the difference.. as for the fast charging yes the HTC chose to use the different Qualcomm 3.0 port it does charge faster but at the expense of long-term battery life if a battery heats up too much especially if you're using your phone when your fast charging you will significantly decrease your battery life Qualcomm 2.0 is fast enough for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge keeps the battery not as hot.. Samsung chose to stick with a 2.0 so people would not have to buy new charger ports. all considered it's better to stick with the 2.0 Qualcomm you cannot charge wirelessly through aluminum that's why I Samsung used glass.. Samsung makes fast chargers for wireless also you can disable most of the bloatware there's bloatware on HTC 2 the new marshmallow operating system and Touchwiz is seamlessly awesome with plenty of unbelievable features I just love you can also download any launcher you want the Google vanilla launcher, iOS launcher, my favorite is the Nova Launcher you get all the smoothies and customizations you need you don't have to stick with HTC launcher or TouchWiz if you don't want to but TouchWiz is really good now..
A couple of significant differences the otherwise very good video missed: S7 has Samsung Pay. It is accepted at some places Google Pay isn't. HTC 10 has adaptive storage. Getting the most out of that SD card slot is crucial for me.
I have a HTC one m9+ .. and was thinking to brought the HTC 10 .. would I go to buy it or would you suggest another phone guy? p.s: I don't prefer any Galaxy phone because of the glass. but what do you suggest for me?
Sriram Ramesh From the looks of things I'd say yea. Its kind of intentional if you notice the first part of the video and compare it to the the last part.
+Ibrahim Sahbest best Camera, best display, beautiful design with dual curved screen, 3600mAh battery, waterproof, thinner, and more which HTC doesn't offer. Also, I'm not a fan of samsung, but according to Teardown (tiny organisation), it costs $250 - 270 to make s7 edge which is the highest input cost by any company for a smartphone. The greater the input, the greater the output.
There is no way HTC 10 can Outclass Galaxy S7....Waterproofing,Dustproofing,Wireless Charging,Better Screen,BetterCamera,Better Ports and Last but not the least..Better Re-Sale Value. Top Phones of the Year:- 1 S7 2.HTC 10 3 LG G5 4 IPhone 6S 5 Nexus 6P
Great video! I wonder if you could answer something for me (unable to find on any other review videos), do the HTC 10 and S7 support hotword detection when screen is off? This was a feature on Moto X and I had heard all 820 processors should support it, but unable to find any information on this...
yeah ... but only with audio and UI😂😂😂😂 but Samsung win with better benchmark, better camera, water resistants, longer battery, SUPER AMOLED display, tools for games, one hand use feature, always on display and also have no apps drawer option.🙌 HTC IS GOOD FOR MID/HIGH END SMARTPHONE AND SAMSUNG IS GREATEST FOR FLAGSHIP SMARTPHONE (ON ANDROID) 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
RAHIED KHAN well keep watching Juan's videos and you will see he keeps on stressing on the fact that the best phone is the one which is best for you, there is never an absolute winner.
I enjoy watching your reviews because they dont take place in a room with colored fluorescent lights like a lot of others. its refreshing to see a phone in a normal environment. keep up the great work.
One important feature of the HTC 10 which you missed is Adoptable Storage, also like some guy said in the comments, RAW pictures is a HUGE deal, so if you really dig deep in the camera department, you'll find that the HTC is better in that too, the S7 is better for the casual point and shoot I concede, though.. Here's the thing: Samsung phones will always be about packing more features, but when it comes down to the core, HTC all the way.
***** Incorrect? You can watch all the videos on youtube about it. It was one of the main marketing highlights of the note 4. 0 to 50 in 30mins, as it was the first samsung phone with fast charging. I have tested it with a stopwatch also.
uzamaki205 S7 EDGE probably has the best Camera, best screen for sure, beautiful design with dual curved screen, 3600mAh battery, waterproof, cooler (due to cooling system), thinner than the HTC, wireless Charging, and last but not least better performance (if u r buying international version). HTC is also a good phone but with s7 edge, u can have that EDGE. lool
Lets be realistic here.... All of Samsung's Galaxy line of mobile devices are packed with punching features that make the device fun and cool, but the phones don't age well whatsoever, and the user interface is just difficult to navigate through. They're riddled with so much bloat-ware its beyond me. Both my mother and my sister, along with an ex-girl friend of mine all got Samsung Galaxy S5's when they hit the market. The phones tanked within a year. Extremely slow, buggy, glitchy, and just not fluent at all when scrolling through the interface. Yeah, you have a nice bitchin camera and an edgy looking screen, lots of fun and exiting features, but that doesn't mean shit when the phone can hardly operate within itself. I still have my HTC One M8 and for being a phone that's almost 2 1/2 years old, this thing still easily keeps up with I-Phone 6 & 6's (and this phone as been dropped, stepped on, etc.) Not to mention the stellar audio and a camera that is still well within my ball park of acceptability. I have co workers who bought galaxy S6's just a little over a year ago and they're already starting to go down hill. Again, its the amount of features they pack into the phone, they just become wore down and become less responsive. HTC Sense is just a cleaner interface while still maintaining extreme customization. In the end, if you want a phone packed full of features with a nice display along with a great camera, then be my quest and go with a galaxy mobile device, but again, you'll be getting a new phone in a year. If you want the above phone but matched with killer audio, and a phone that will be just as responsive as when you first got it, even after a few years down the road, go with HTC. And that's where I stand. Quality over quantity....
I think that the HTC 10 has finally brought a phone that can challenge it's competitors the problem is going to be is convincing people that HTC is as good as Samsung because Samsung has convinced so many that it is the only android phone and then there is Apple. I sure hope this us HTC's year because I have truly loved their design.
I'm sorry. but Samsung's gallery is useful. private mode is fantastic. you want to keep those dirty pics hidden. all built in. lol. not that they need to be dirty. but being able to make loads of things private outside of of just the gallery is super useful! call it bloat all you want. but the photos app Google has is nice and pretty. but also very limited.
+Steven Asher yeah i like someone can use your samsung phone at a party and take pictures without your password (or your thumb) but not be able to mess with you gallery or edit stuff on it.
I like the build quality of HTC. I recall the sensation had almost a roll cage built in the back cover so if you dropped it it didn't break because it also had the screen recessed into the phone.if you put it face down the screen would not scratch. if they updated that design i would totally jump ship to HTC for my next phone.
I'm more of an HTC person over Samsung, and this is a great comparison. The S7 is a great phone, as is the 10, but one thing that puts me off the 10 is the fact that most of the built in apps are Google now. That means that all of your photos now belong to Google which I think is SOOOO wrong. Then the S7 is water resistant, got all the extra software things, it's a really tough battle! And the hardware and performance is almost equal. I say move over Apple, welcome back HTC! But yeah it's a tough decision...
+Daniel G. Tan Whoa getting deep with "symbolism" and what not. How about it was 80 degrees, my hands were sweaty, I was looking at the camera, and the GS7 is made out of glass?
ordered my htc 10.....very excited as i love their customer care and would never get another samsung again...even though i loved my s6 edge...when i broke the screen it was a nightmare. Good review
ram management and memory management always good on HTC devices.... HTC's sense ui is still my favourite on the the touchwiz still looks cartoonis.... Whatever I prefer HTC 10 over Galaxy S7.... that's my personal choice....
+Amir Hossain exactly my thoughts and i own a samsung device. Really a shame that samsung is essentially the representative of android amongst consumers. It is honestly one of the worst representatives of what is the most powerful and versatile smartphone OS. samsung makes android look slow, sluggish, limited, gimmicky and contradicts what android is about. Seriously samsung....f%ck you...
i wanna listen to music on the HTC 10 so bad, i have to use Bluetooth headphones with my Nexus 6p because it doesn't provide enough power to my other headphones
+Tyler “TylerThaTruth” Barron wasting your time mate , even slightly better sound quality on smart phone brand X ........ at best your still listening to tiny half inch speakers ....even if theres two of them ...... smart phones will never make car stereo or house stereo sound , it will always be crap ....enjoy your blue tooth speakers , or head phones , thats what i do .
+Tyler “TylerThaTruth” Barron The amp on the HTC 10 is pretty killer for a phone. I'm personally not a huge fan of carrying around a second gadget but you could look at an external DAC for your Nexus if you can't replace it. Probably cheaper than buying a whole separate phone if you don't mind the second gadget.
I have a samsung galaxy s6 (edge), I dont have any knowlegde about phones. Is it worth to buy a HTC 10 or samsung S7? I had bought the s6 on the day of release, my phone is living his last days...
