You're right. It's not just a song, it's a story. Hua Hua is the best story teller. He told you the Monkey King's life experience. You can feel the struggle and emotions of Monkey King. He is incredible.
At the end of 2018 season of Singer HuaHua got an award for this song. It received the most votes from home of any song during the entire season. You're right, he can really sing, and he is a superstar. Also, he wrote this song for the film Wukong. Each artist was allowed to do only 2 of their own songs; the rest had to be covers--rules of the show. So happy you guys love Hua Chenyu. The Martians love you back.
Thank you for another Hua Chenyu reaction. 🤗 HuaHua composed this song for the movie Wukong about the Monkey King. In the soft parts of the song the Monkey King is questioning why he was born. Why was he brought to this world, this life . In the more aggressive parts (rap) the Monkey King is fighting against his enemys, his destiny.... The whole song is pretty deep and well balanced if you watch closely. HuaHua won many awards for this song. Please more HuaHua. 7 Personalities would be great or Jackdaw Boy, Aliens, The Mayfly, Madhouse, Nanping Evening Bell..... 🥰🤩🤗
In fact, Hua plays the piano or any stringed instrument, we've already seen him play the harp in a rehearsal for one of his shows. Wind instruments like the flute, trumpet, and percussion instruments like the drums etc. There is a lot to know about Hua Chenyu. Martians would like to see much more Hua in your channel 😀. Thanks
So cool, thanks! This is one of two HuaHua's own songs on Singer 2018, Qi Tian has been multi awarded every year since its release and has been the most viewed song from all Singer's seasons. Now I'm really waiting for 7 Personalities :) Looking forward, thanks you guys! (Shared in FB group Hua Chenyu Foreign Martians)
TY always for reacting to Hua Hua. Your comments are always nice and respectful to this artist. Another great performance. May I suggest two duets, Nanping Evening Bell and Perhaps Love from Hua.
Hua Hua is one of the most influential singers within the Chinese youth, he is a social communicator, each song has a message and a story ... It is really spectacular, he has a beautiful voice and almost limitless tones, he can do everything and stage makes it his in each presentation !! Bro you also need to react to this song in MV. Only then you will see the difference in the song. Anyway just to let you guys know that he enters "Singer 2018" and "Singer 2020" in China and the competition rules change every year and the year 2018 the rules are whoever comes last will leave the competition and replace by another singer.(Hua ChenYu came on episode 4) And all singers can only use 2 of their original songs throughout. For the rest of the song, the singers need to rearrange whatever songs they choose and composed to their cover version, and then vote by the ordinance. If you are interested in his performance then here you might as well start from the beginning which is on episode 4. Anyway, l put up the link on all his performances in 2018 and the original singer: "Qi Tian" => My arrival; Hua Hua original song "Child" => My childhood; original singer 西樓 link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Al_HnN-34GY.html "Nunchucks" => My arrogance; original singer Jay Chou link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OR-0wptI_u0.html "I Don't Care" => My apathy; Hua Hua original song "Flammable and Explosive" => The world's conflicting expectations of me; original singer Chen Li link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U0ENg_ddScY.html "Wayfarer" => My disappointment after opening up to the world; original singer No Party For Cao Dong link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j2311FZWoFQ.html "Fake Monk" => My inner struggle and salvation; original singer Cui Jian link:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OJHxxxc74Kc.html "Ordinary Path" => Clenching my teeth to face myself; original singer PU SHU link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-867jz5wd1ME.html "I Am What I Am" => Finding myself. original singer Leslie Cheung link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-873fnUmJQzU.html "Shout or Scream" => surpassing myself. original singer Angela Zhang link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UU4p0eb0IBQ.html

To fully understand this song, you need to read the Chinese Classic Novel "Journey to the West" (西遊記). It is a novel written by Wu Cheng'en (吳承恩) in the 16th century during the Ming Dynasty. The novel is an account of the pilgrimage of the Tang Dynasty Buddhist monk called Xuanzang (玄奘). He travelled to the west (Central Asia and India) to obtain the Buddhist sacred texts (sutras). During his journey, the monk Xuanzang (玄奘) was escorted by three protectors who helped him as atonement for their own sins. The three protectors are Sun Wukong (孫悟空. The Monkey King. This is the mythical monkey figure this song is all about), Zhu Ba Jie (豬八戒. This is the mythical pig figure), and Sha Wujing (沙悟淨 or 沙僧. He was originally a general in heaven). In addition to the three protectors, Xuanzang (玄奘) was given a white steed to ride on (The White Dragon Horse, also known as Bai Long Ma 白龍馬). This song, Qi Tian (齊天), is a soulful cry of Sun Wukong (孫悟空, the Monkey King) for freedom and the atonement of his sins. Until his sins are completely forgiven and his freedom granted, he cannot escape the palm of the Buddha, which to him, is bigger than heaven and earth. The Golden Fillet around his head, which he cannot remove, is the magic headband designed to reign in his unruly, rebellious nature. Whenever he gets out of line, Xuanzang (玄奘) can make the headband constrict and cause Sun Wukong (孫悟空) tremendous pain. This is how Xuanzang (玄奘) keeps Sun Wukong (孫悟空) in line and under control. The rap parts of the song perfectly depict the chaos and violence during all the battles that he fought to protect Xuanzang (玄奘) from harm. I hope this little explanation helps you all understand the background and gain a better appreciation for the song, which is phenomenal. On a side note, the name of the song, Qi Tian (齊天), is rather oddly translated to "Equal to Heaven". Qi Tian (齊天) is normally used in Chinese culture as a form of blessing or to describe the wealth of a person. For example, you would say that a person is so rich that his wealth reaches up to the heaven, or that somebody's ambition is so high that it reaches up to the heaven, or that a mountain is so high that it reaches up to the heaven. The idea is to convey grandeur, something so majestic that it rises up so high that it touches heaven.
